Accommodation 4.5/5
Booked the large 25m2 room for one night and another approx 23m2 room for 2 more nights. These rooms are nice and spacious with enough place to walk around and great space at the toilets with a split toilet bowl, and Onsen. First room was the large room without windows and it was at a very good price. I recommend if you are doing a night, just use this room as the space is unparalleled with separate toilet bowl, shower and Onsen. The 2nd room I booked had a city window, which feels a bit more free as you could look out the window but the onsen and shower is together. People might be able to look into the window so it is probably better to Onsen only at night. Overall, very comfortable to move around and bed is comfy. My friends did say the smaller rooms start to be too squeezy so you might want to pick around that.
Location 4.5/5
Location is great! Near the bus station interchange (about 10 mins walk) to go to Toucheng for boat ride to Turtle Island, Near Jiaoxi Central area with all the activities (practically right outside), Near the train station (about 10 mins walk) so you can go from there to Yilan, and Loudong for the night market. Also near the Art Hotel that is a great place to spend a few hours with the many Onsen baths/Sauna/Steam rooms that it has. With this, you pretty much have activities for more then 2 full days and very easy to get to.
Service 4/5
Staff was pretty friendly and check in was relatively fast enough. There is also a bar right next to the reception so u could go for a drink and hang out with the bartender and get back to the room quite easily. They also had breakfast and tea breaks included and although simple, it was easy to and comfortable as they didnt even really need to check room keys etc. There is also a massage service that is pretty much reasonably priced compared to similar services all around. Staff is not super conversant in English but they should be able to manage.
Atmosphere 4/5
Room is generally quiet, and the whole area is very clean and uncluttered so you can really have quite a relaxing overall experience during your stay there
Price 4/5
Given it's location and amenities provided, this is really quite a fair price for you to stay throughout a stint in the Yilan area.
Overall 4.2/5
This was a great place to stay and i was glad i extended my stay for a total of 3 nights over there instead of original 1 night. Allowed for a more balanced experience out of Taipei City itself and also wind down and really relax at nights. It is also not that far and difficult to get to from Taipei (its just an hour bus ride if there is no traffic). I would recommend that same hotel to any of my friends if they were interested in a similar itinerary. Just take note to book the bigger rooms if possible for a better feel of...
Read moreIf you are coming to Taiwan 🇹🇼 - Yilan, you will realised there are 1000s of hotels. So why this hotel?
The main reason is because it’s walkable distance from礁溪溫泉公園森林風呂 - Forrest 🌳 Spa (see my other review on this) it’s 10mins walk from this hotel, that’s gave me an opportunity to walk 🚶🚶♀️🚶♂️ there in my shorts 🩳 and slippers 🩴 and then back to hotel.
Now this hotel 🏩 …. So hits and miss. Hits : Clean, HUGE onsen ♨️ in the room! Super hot ♨️ spring ⛲️water 💦! Free breakfast and tea ☕️break daily. Coffee and drinks round the clock. In-house massage, big rooms, fully amenities inside room (hairdryer, shampoo, shower gel, mini fridge [but no safe💰in the room], food just round the corner. (+ Starbucks)
Miss : I stay at level 2️⃣. The wall 🧱thickness between level 2️⃣ and 3️⃣ is ridiculously thin. Not the side to side but the top and bottom thickness. I think my level 3️⃣ had this family 🧑🧑🧒🧒on some tatami bed 🛌 and he had the kids doing Ninja 🥷Warrior till 11pm 🕚. Bloody drove us nuts but they checked out the next day! Phew 😓
Staff : Super friendly! No matter what shift the counter team are always smiling 😁 and friendly. That’s amazing! 👍
Booking : Booked from Agoda and got a really good deal. But look around and see if others are running a promotion.
My take is this is great hotel to stay if you wanna try the natural 🗻 hot spring. But it’s far from Luodong Night Market ….. etc. there’s just no way to balance this as the State of Yilan is just way too big. However, our sole purpose to soak the hot spring in Yilan is well taken...
Read moreWORST experience I’ve ever had with a hotel.
Lisitng demonstrates image of a window in the room with sunlight coming in. However the actual room window is COMPLETELY blocked off and is PITCH black in broad day light.
Despite feeling like I was being lied to, I tried to pay for a room upgrade for a room with proper window yet they do not have one available.
I then , requested for a refund for the remaining 2 nights of the stay as it was extremely claustrophobic to stay in such a small room without window. However the management still has the cheek to mention cancellation policies with me and refuses to process full refund for the 2 nights which was not stayed for.
What’s more hilarious is their explanation towards this situation. The staff claimed that the rooms are correct, it is just that the rooms are randomly assigned and some luckier guest will receive the windows with actual sunlight, and some will then receive my room with ZERO light.
Cleanliness is also questionable, remnants of previous guest’s contact lens was found on the floor. Bed side table is also dusty.
Save yourself the time and trouble. Stay away from this hotel. I felt so cheated by the lack of transparency...
