We came here for the Japanese style public bath (Onsen), this being my first experience of such style bath house. The Public bath is separated for man and woman and basically you are not allowed to wear any clothing!!! I was prepared to feel weird but that was not the case with the calm and clean atmosphere and everyone keeping to themselves. They had a cold water pool and about 5 hot water pool at different temperature. The polls were spread out from indoor, to semi outdoor to fully outdoor with all of them being clean with only the hottest one being a bit questionable, there were a lot of dead skin in the water, must be effect of the scaling hot water. We were the only foreigner at the place and got to say I was impressed with the Public baths and the hygiene maintained, it was overall a nice experience.
The located of the baths is far side from Jiaoxi station through the park. The charges are 80TWD per person, the towels are optional at 50TWD for wash towels (small ones) and 200TWD for bath towel, for man’s the small ones were sufficient. One is expected to have a proper bath with soap and shampoo in a separate area before entering the polls. There are blow dryers and ear buds available in the dressing room after the baths. A must try experience when you are passing...
Read moreJiaoxi Hot ♨️ Spring 🏞️ Park is a public park. It’s located next to the public swimming 🏊🏾♂️ pool and it’s an open concept design. They have various foot 🦶🦶soaking pools with various temperatures 🌡️.
You will find very little tourist 👩🦱🧕🕵️♂️ here and a lot of locals. Most elderly men 👴🏻 and women 🧓🏻 taking a foot 👣 dip in the morning 🌅. It’s a very nice local culture where they hang out and have breakfast 🍵🥪🍪 and chit chat while taking a dip. They believe this helps them circulate the blood 🩸🩸🩸 flow around the body so the aunties I spoke to told me they do this daily 📆 almost like a ritual 🧎♂️➡️📿.
It is like a pavilion set up with beautiful design and at the back of it, you will find a café ☕️🍰. Front setting is a small park 🛝 for panic and kids 👧🧒👦 to run about. Cozy, not huge and extremely spacious set up / design.
I came over from the Forest Hot Spring (full body immersion, you can read my other review) so I didn’t take another soak in this public hot ♨️spring 🏞️ park. Next time if I come back, that might just be what I will do before I head over to the Forest Hot Spring, do it in reverse.
