I stayed 3 nights here in the first week of August. I was pleasantly surprised. The price was quite reasonable at just over 4000nt and it included breakfast and I think that price included two people sharing the room. I forgot to search for the room as a solo traveller so it may have been cheaper if I had. But for two people that’s amazing. It was easy to find. You change from the red line at Formosa Boulevard station to the orange line, one stop to City Council station and take exit 3. Once there walk up and turn right and you should come up to it in a couple of minutes. I was greeted nicely. They gave me room 610 on the 6th floor. You have to tap your key card in the evaluator every time you go to your floor. The room was cute and small with a little round window. It was clean. They have a fitness room but it was small and only consisted of a bike and some other machine which I’ve never used. I still managed to get some workouts in the room while I was there. It would have been prefect if they had some weights. The breakfast is from 7-10 but you need to specify what time you would likely go up for it and also tell them about your dietary requirements. The breakfast was tasty. Overall I think this is a great little hotel in a decent location. The fact that it is so close to the mrt station...
Read moreModern chic hotel, stylish lobby which is nice for photos. Their room had a smart, modern sleek design whereby there is a movable partition to separate the bathroom area from the beds. However it was also abit inconvenient that the design of toilet and shower room is separate and both cannot be used at the same time as there was only 1 sliding door for either. It was also inconvenient to switch over.||||Some other observations:||• We like their big and clear tv||• Room is bright and furnishing feels new||• Location is walkable to / from Liu He Night Market. Take a casual stroll after feasting at the night market!||• They have a laundry room! Well equipped! What a pity we only realised it when we went upstairs for breakfast. Its free to use, and they even provides washing powder.||• Providing hand wash at basin is good, but it feels out of place as it’s a generic brand obviously purchased separately. The hotel can consider producing own labelled handwash.||• Water stained window in room 716, not sure if the stain is inside or outside but still don’t look clean.||• Bed is a little too soft for our liking, but some may like it, but overall still comfortable sleep.||||Overall,...
Read moreComfortable and clean, the FX Inn offers their guests a stylish stay in a central part of Kaohsiung, a short walk from Urban Spotlight and Central Park. Front desk employees dress like nightclub staff, a fashion show on the monitors in the elevators, and mood lighting in the hallways give you a good sense of what demographic they're appealing to. Aesthetics aside, the rooms are small but well appointed and very clean. The lobby offers a coffee bar with decent fare, and bicycles are free to borrow for guests. The "fitness center" is a joke, however (a closet-size room with one stationary bike) and Western guests will be disappointed by the breakfast buffet on the top-floor. All in all, however, I had a very pleasant stay, and the location was very convenient, just one block away from an MRT stop. Fast and free WiFi, and helpful, English-speaking staff on...
