When I arrived the place is was welcomed with the beautiful atmosphere of the restaurant, it really reminded me about back home (Israel), the posters on the wall in Hebrew, the Jewish related objects and the Israeli music made me smile a lot that so far from Israel I can feel sort of like home!. When I opened the menu I was surprised by the expensive prices of the dishes, the cheapest hummus dish costs 320 yuan, while in Israel it's much cheaper than that! Around 220, almost every dish on the menu was more expensive than in Israel, surprising because restaurants in Israel are one of the most expensive in the world. But i was still curious to try some dishes, i ordered hummus with falafel that also came with salad and 3 small side dishes, cigars, and shawarma. The hummus flavor was decent but the dish was so small! Actually it was the smallest dish of hummus i saw in my life, and there was a lot of olive oil in that dish, I mostly tasted the oil while eating the dish, the falafel balls that came with the hummus were pretty nice but they didn't have the taste of an actual falafel, I don't know really what was in there, the shawarma wasn't really a shawarma, more like peaces of chicken with spices.. and the cigars were actually the best dish in my opinion, very well made. For those 3 dishes with salad and small side dishes I payed 770 yuan which in my opinion more expensive than it should be, Shortly for someone who want to try some Israeli food and has the money for it's ok, but don't expect a true Israeli experience and also don't expect to get out of there with a...
Read moreI was really excited after seeing the reviews (4.8 stars out of 5 in the first ~280 reviews), but the food disappointed me in SO many ways. Also later learned that they gave free food for those who left 5 stars (unfortunately a strategy employed by one too many Taiwanese restaurants)
I got the Falafel Hummus with Pita Bread. First of all, let me say that the packaging was great. But that was pretty much the only thing that worked.
The hummus was too bitter. It was also too creamy. They probably added too much tahini sauce to make it extra "creamy" at the cost of taste.
The falafel was bland. Like absolutely bland. Needed some spices (garlic?) to have any sort of flavor profile.
The quantity was very little (I'm an underweight male with a BMI of 17, but even I felt hungry after finishing the meal). I paid 400 NTD and got maybe three tablespoons of hummus spread flat on a plate, with four tiny falafels. I've paid lesser in the US for much more tasty hummus in much higher quantities. (You can get 12 oz full containers of hummus at top rated restaurants in the US for the same price. This was around 25% of that)
Needless to say, I'm not going to be trying this again. Hummus is a very easy recipe (seriously, search YouTube if you haven't already) and takes around 5 minutes to make if you have the handful of ingredients and a food processor. No fancy ingredients required. Absolutely not worth it to spend ~400 NTD on what is served here. There are quite a few...
Read moreFrom the warm ambiance to the vibrant flavors, every aspect of this establishment was carefully crafted to transport guests to the enchanting world of Israeli cuisine in a very laid-back setting.
The menu presented an array of tantalizing dishes, each reflecting the rich and diverse culinary heritage of Israel. Their passion for the cuisine was evident, and it added an extra layer of authenticity to the overall experience.
To start my culinary adventure, I ordered a plate of freshly baked, fluffy pita bread accompanied by an assortment of vibrant dips. The silky smooth hummus, smoky baba ganoush, and tangy tahini were all bursting with flavors that danced on my palate. The mezze platter, featuring an assortment of side dishes like falafels and Israeli salads, was true feast for the senses. Each bite was a delightful combination of textures and tastes, showcasing the artistry of the chefs.
For the main course, I indulged in a traditional Israeli dish called shakshuka. The perfectly poached eggs nestled in a bed of tomato sauce, spiced with aromatic herbs and spices, created a symphony of flavors that left me craving for more.
Overall, my experience at this Israeli restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. Definitely will...
