Southern Sun Dar Es Salaam, Garden Avenue — Hotel in Dar es-Salaam

My family and I stayed here for a weekend in adjoining rooms, it was our first time back to Dar es Salaam for over a year. The hotel was closed during the time we lived here and we were happy to learn that it had reopened on 1st October.

The rooms are really well appointed and have all the amenities you’d expect from a modern city centre hotel, especially fast wifi - I clocked about 80mbps.

The great thing about the hotel - apart from the team who go out of their way to help, is the proximity to local attractions such as the National Museum, Botanical Gardens and easy access to the main road to Peninsula, Coco Beach and downtown. Breakfast was top class with a wide selection of items including national specialities such as mandazi, urojo soup - grab a madafu (coconut) to fuel your electrolytes. The hotel has recently reopened and looks set to have a great impact on the hospitality sector in Dar. During your stay expect to meet legendary GM, Bruce Chapman, who enjoys meeting and greeting all his guests.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Southern Sun in Dar es Salaam, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way.

From the moment I arrived, the service was outstanding. The waitstaff were attentively looking after all guests, always ready with a smile and quick to assist with any request. Their friendliness truly added to the welcoming atmosphere of the hotel.

The rooms were immaculate—clean, comfortable, and equipped with superb air conditioning that made my stay all the more pleasant. It was a joy to return to such a pristine environment after a day of exploring the city.

Another highlight is the hotel's prime location. Southern Sun is ideally situated, making it convenient to access both the airport and beautiful beaches. This made my travels around Dar es Salaam incredibly hassle-free.

Overall, I highly recommend Southern Sun for anyone visiting Dar es Salaam. Whether you’re there for business or leisure, you will appreciate the excellent service, clean accommodations, and prime location. I’m already looking forward to...

Southern Sun It’s a high privacy hotel . It implies a focus on providing guests with a secluded and discreet experience, offering amenities and designs that prioritize quiet, exclusivity, and minimal disturbance. The rooms were absolutely comfortable and clean, the staffs are very friendly(Credits to AYOUB he is very attentive to guests, made us helpful recommendations, he gave us topnotch services on time and we sincerely thank him for making our dining experience enjoyable . when we come back we hope you take care of us again because we were so impressed at how well you did your job!)The restaurant is very cozy, the breakfast buffet is a not to miss, everything on the menu is superb ! Not to mention the signature Tuna was extremely scrumptious, I can still taste it ! Thumbs up to the chefs they never disappoint, because every time i walked by the restaurant my meals were just Wow!
