Our journey in Southeast Asia commenced at this resort, where we spent four nights before continuing on to Bangkok and Vietnam. The resort's offerings are truly exceptional. We opted for a basic garden room, a decision we later regretted, as the pool rooms were quickly booked. It's worth noting that many of the pool-equipped units are multi-room villas which also require advance reservation, so booking early is advisable. While we had a garden view, which was pleasant, the overall resort experience was nothing short of spectacular.
Despite being the oldest among its properties, the resort's layout is stunningly beautiful, and its age is imperceptible. Our afternoons were delightfully spent at the resort's secluded private beach, preferred for its tranquility. It's advisable to arrive early, as it tends to fill up quickly. Alternatively, a much larger beach is accessible on the other side of the rocks, offering just as much charm but with more space.
The culinary experience at the resort was remarkable; with such a vast resort, the variety of food and cocktail menus across different restaurants meant we never felt the need for a change of scenery. The food is reasonably priced, and although Phuket boasts several Michelin-starred restaurants, we found ourselves content with dining in, particularly enjoying the Thai curries.
An unforgettable experience was chartering a private yacht through the resort to visit the Phi Phi Islands. While it's a must-do, be prepared for potentially rough seas, especially in the morning, and a journey time of about 90 minutes across open waters. If prone to seasickness, it's advisable to take preventative measures. The resort's gym is well-equipped, and taking a Muay Thai class in their full boxing ring is highly recommended.
Initially planning to explore more of Phuket, our jet lag from the States and the resort's allure meant we seldom left, aside from our boat trip. The royal Thai dinner served in our room and the e-foil session on the water were both exceptional experiences.
In summary, our stay was idyllic, though we wished for an additional night beyond our four-night stay to fully recover from jet lag and enjoy more of what the resort has to offer. This is, without a doubt, the premier place to stay in Phuket. For future visits, the only thing I'd change is to bring friends and opt for a large waterfront villa with a private chef, enhancing what was already a...
Read moreI have really strange feeling after visiting Amanpuri. Strange marketing. They invited so many bloggers for free to promote resort, give them best villas ( 3000-5000$ on website per night) and they pretend that its normal villa and everyone can get same level and vibes. But what about others rooms? Pavilions? We expect so much, but in result we was so disappointed .. and our villa is the non cheapest one.Its panorama ocean pool villa....😟... Ok,about food...Thai restaurant -Food is non restaurant serving and taste . Its street food but super OVERPRICED, exactly 2 times than restaurant in Anantara ,Rosewood,Six Senses. Taste very simple ( We live in Thailand, we know food and taste ).. Italian restaurant:Seabass 150 g -50$ . And you get bad looking dishes and taste very simple ,and also table White textile with holes and old...and staff pretending that everything perfect 🤷🏻.. staff is not professional and took from the streets ..totally misunderstanding everywhere... Room- very overpriced. Never take GARDEN PAVILION. There is no flowers, or garden.Book at least ocean panoramic pavilion , but better book VILLA -1 bedroom 3000$ per night. Its also overprice for Phuket. Inside room you get cheapest thai brand water (price in shop around 0,2$), tooth paste COLGATE and so many greedy details. Room need upgrade. Greens inside the villa should looks more colorful with some flowers, not only green from the Palms..I think room need same warm and atmosphere. On the floor no carpet .. so the filling when you stay in the room - its like stay in temple, but forgotten temple ..Also rocks by the poll very old and looks chaotic .. Gym is amazing.view is unbelievable. Main swim pool is amazing! The road between villas is super interesting and jungle style. Beach is private, super clean .big, beautiful. Everything is OK if they made price 2 times cheaper..but for now its super overpriced and overrated. What the reason book Amanpuri if near have same design hotel ANDARA . They even use 100% same furniture ,even pillows.. but yes, Aman have story and promise perfect service, restaurant and accommodation ..but in real..Is not .. I think AMANPURI HAVE REALLY LOW LEVEL management ..because Head is the most important. Manager is the brain of resort. Every mistake what we saw,...
Read moreMe and my husband's second Aman resort, we decided to take this trip on a whim after a great experience at Amanoi. Our stay at Amanpuri solidified the true meaning of the Aman ethos the brand espouses.
Service is impeccable and incredibly polished, perhaps the best we've encountered despite some incredible stays at other luxury resorts. The staff here knows perfectly well how to anticipate needs and are thus, attentive, friendly and professional. Moreover, even though the resort was 80% full at the time, it ALWAYS felt secluded, private and barren of people. Food was great and dare I say, better than the restaurant we went to (also highly reviewed) in Thalang District.
I would say that the basic room we stayed in felt a little dark, and did not provide much seclusion (We could occasionally see staff walking around from the pavilion). Nonetheless, this is just a little bone to pick given that we spent most of the time lounging around the resort, and we anticipate the higher-tier rooms being much more comfortable and private. Due to it being monsoon season, the private beach for couples and the beach shack was also closed. No fault of the resort, and only makes us want to visit again.
We felt like the staff was committed to giving us a great 1.5 day birthday getaway, without pushing it into our face and being overt that they had offered us certain upgrades. There was a commitment to making us feel special despite our very short stay and us residing in the cheapest room. Definitely pushed us towards the idea of visiting even more Aman resorts around the world. We're already planning our next visit back to Amanpuri...
