As a couple of other reviewers have mentioned this is really an apartment building rather than a hotel, it was low season but we weren’t offered breakfast options and the pool bar was never open. It is located at the very end of Bangtao Beach and the area around it is rather scruffy and down market so heading to the main beach area is essential. This is again not that pleasant on foot along the road and is only possible along the seafront at very low tide as quickly cut off once the tide turns so a short window to get back to main beaches and bars. That said we would recommend Palm Seaside, Benny’s and Twin Brothers restaurants nearby, all very different but equally great food. The pool is a splash pool, not a full size one, but is lovely to cool down in and well maintained for a quiet building, again it was a shame the bar wasn’t open but the staff allowed us to bring our own food and drink and use their poolside fridge. The beach in front is really for fishermen with long tailed boats moored up, so you need to walk further down to use the beach if the tide allows. The apartment itself is very spacious with two large bedrooms one with en-suite and you do get a slight view of the beach from the back apartments by clever layout of the balconies, I’d really recommend one of the seafront apartments for great views of the entire Bangtao Beach. Ours also needed a refresh with tired looking wood work, kitchen and sofa, but for two couples it worked as a base. However the staff here are superb and genuinely couldn’t do enough for us, booking trips, advise on the local area and sorting a couple of minor niggles in the apartment, always friendly and chatty. Krittipong who I liaised with before we came on our holiday met us and had arranged some essentials in the apartment; milk, water, huge selection of fruit which saw us through the whole week and some wine. He again was always helpful, friendly available via a quick email. Finally krittipong had arranged our pick up from the airport and their preferred driver, Mr Fin, became our guide for the week, taking us to locations, advising on places to go, waiting for us, always with a smile and his infectious laugh. I’m 50/50 on whether I’d go back here due to its isolated location but I can’t say enough about the team...
Read moreThe beach is used by the local fishermen as their boat anchorage so it's not usable for swimming or sunbathing. Because of this it was disappointing that the pool in the hotel's grounds is not heated, and was in fact quite chilly. There are lounge chairs in the grounds for sunbathing but as we mainly walked to a more usable section of the beach the hotel's amenities were not well used.||||There appears to be a poolside bar but it was not operating when we were there. There is no restaurant on site.||||The rooms are all suites. Our room was excellent with a kitchen, dining area, living room area and a separate large bedroom and en suite bathroom with a king sized bed. Gorgeous. The suite had a second bedroom and bathroom which were locked off as we had not booked for two bedrooms. It seems all the suites have the potential to be two bedroom. The slightly larger suites on the north corner have the better views of the beach. We were in the mid section with a view of the beach somewhat restricted by the hotel structure.||||We thought this hotel was excellent value. The suite was as large as a typical urban apartment and we could have lived there for weeks quite comfortably. Markets are not far to walk to collect provisions and there are restaurants from cheap local eateries to upscale establishments within short walking distance.||||We would have no hesitation booking this hotel another time.||||The staff are extremely friendly (almost too much so) and...
Read moreSpent a week in Jan. Nice place, you won't regret. Location good, 10-15 min walk either to Surin or Bangtao beaches (to Bangtao you can walk along the shore at low tide, it's only half mile). It's located on the seaside with nice views and sunbeds; but you can't really swim right there because of tied longtail boats. But on the positive side the place is really quiet with no irritative vendors trying to sell you some scrap every other minute.|There are few restaurants close by if you don't wish to walk to tourist places. The grocery store is 10 min walk. |It's small but all amenities in place; they even have a gym. Room was very spacious and well equipped, we had two bedroom apartment with separate bathrooms, living room and kitchen. The price that we paid was very reasonable, considering high season and the comfort they offer.|Can name only two minor setbacks. |The staff although very friendly and carefulness, but except for two ladies at reception hardly understand English. Don't be misleaded by smiles and nodding. |Other complain was breakfast; it's not much to choose from so it becomes boring after few days. Moreover, they ask you to tell them in advance at what exact time you want it served. Which may be not so...
