After a week at this hotel, I would definitely recommend to stay away from it by any means....and I never even experienced such a poor place and stay, why: 1- The rooms are really degraded and could not believe my eyes of the main wall with all kind of paint patches and such...never even seen a wall in that state in my life! 2- Very old material and furniture both room and bathroom...horrible. 3- No water pressure at all...and the extreme heat/cold variations that could harm you out of a sudden. 4- There is 2 building, and there is a private building between them...so you will be hauling and walking between to get to swimming pool which is at 9 floor of the main building...what a turn off.. 5- The swimming pool is not well looked after...showers are not clean, you can see the hair of people still left there for days and days...also the shampoo and soap wall bucket are empty at your convenience...plans and trees of the swimming pool are yellow, dry and you can see the roots of them as no enough soil or nutritions have been provided or taken care of...what a shame! 6- The front desk of the 2nd building is out dated and so old...there is nice bar open next to it but it is not operational. the front desk should take place of that nice decorated bar in deed that should be the reception. 7- There a stupid night club right at the entrance of the main building...and what is meant that it is party every night and loud ....big crowds of are always taking the place every night inside the entrance and outside...dozen guards are always there so rude and unprofessional watching and staring at all hotel guests and families and such...every night from 8PM to 4AM...this not midnight kind of thing... 8- Bring your own towels for the room....never even seen towels like this in my life in a hotel before...it is rags...seriously! Towel at the gym and pool are fine! 9- Lots of noise and loads closing doors in busy place all night...there should be a better mechanism for quiet closing instead...this is a hotel...also lots of people are partying like dogs.
Anyways, was my general opinion about this place....the only good thing is that most of the personal are friendly and nice...there s couple of rude ones, especially tall white guy working in the 2nd building pass midnight...
You might think it is cheap, but it is better add the little extra and get better place, so many big hotels in this area or you can get same price but better place elsewhere...The location though is nice and very central...so you can see it from different angles, but certainly the price should be half for this old outdated place.
In Modern world where there is standards, the license should be withdrawn from this hotel until adjusting to standards like big respected chains...or tun this to air bnb and nobody would...
Read moreI hadn’t been to Bangkok since the early '80s when I visited on a Form 6 school exchange program, so I was quite apprehensive about returning to the city for work this time. The Davis was recommended because our workshop was held at Valia, and I was pleasantly surprised by its close proximity to the venue (not obvious at all from earlier study of the Google Map.)||My room was in the Corner Wing, which required a short walk to a separate building. While this meant passing through a passageway of another building under renovation, the staff kindly assisted with my luggage. The Corner Wing lobby is less impressive than the main building, and there was a short wait to check in as I arrived at 1:30 PM, slightly ahead of check-in time.||The room was an absolute delight. It was incredibly spacious, with enough room for two king-sized beds and more, and plenty of floor space for my morning yoga sessions. The room was bright, which I appreciated as many hotels tend to use dim lighting. The bed was large and comfortable, offering two nights of comfortable rest and the work desk was functional, though I would have preferred a wooden surface to the glass one provided.||The bathroom was equally impressive, featuring both a bathtub and a separate shower. However, it could have been brighter, especially in the shower and toilet areas. Adjusting the hot and cold taps for the shower took some trial and error, which was slightly inconvenient when in a hurry. Amenities were standard but sufficient. Would have appreciated body lotion and tea options too.||The hotel's location is fantastic. There’s a Lotus nearby for supplies and convenient food options like Ya Kun Kaya Toast and street stalls just around the corner. The attached Starbucks was a handy bonus. The nearest BTS station, Phrom Pong, is a 20-minute walk away and offers access to high-end malls like Emporium and EmQuartier. Emporium even provides a free hourly shuttle service to Valia, while Valia itself offers a shuttle every 15 minutes.||Overall, the room was comfortable and spacious. The walls were a bit thin, so noise from other guests could occasionally be heard, but it didn’t disrupt my stay. The reception staff were wonderful and accommodating, even allowing me a late checkout by an hour.||Villas are also available at the Davis.||In summary, The Davis Bangkok offered a lovely stay with helpful staff and a great location. Perfect for both work and leisure—after all, it’s Bangkok, and you’ll want to shop until you drop! Would definitely return....
