We booked here last minute due to our previously pre-booked accommodation further up the road (Suncloud) had extremely noisy construction going on next door to them, and we couldn't stand the noise during check-in. Cancelled on the spot and came here instead.
We told reception at Diamond Beach of our reason for checking-in with them, and nothing was mentioned to us that they too have construction work being done on their premises. After checking in, we noticed an area adjacent to the hotel being renovated. On day 2 there was some hammering and drilling. Felt disappointed we were not informed of this, as we would've gone elsewhere for peace and quiet. On day 3 of our visit, jackhammers were being used right next to our room, making extreme noise the entire day! I see now from other reviews that their construction has been going on for a year?! Looking at the construction site, I can only assume the noise will continue for many more months to come. I suggest if you want to book here, check ahead if this is still ongoing, otherwise, I can guarantee you, a peaceful beach holiday is not what you’ll get. It's been so loud, that you can even hear the drilling from as far as in the water and beach loungers in front of the hotel. I thought being away from our room and on the beach would make a difference - sadly not the case.
And if your room is facing the adjacent hotel, or like us, had the corridor room, you will hear their night time music until around midnight. No early to bed nights here!
For the amount you pay (from Bht1500+- up to Bht4500+- depending on room type and time of year) its not worth it. (Suncloud was actually half the price and more modern, pity we didn't stay there). Far more places to book with - but check ahead with any Samed hotel about construction on or near their resort because the noise will kill the peaceful beach vibe if that's what you're after. Seems like this island has a great deal of renovation or construction going on.
Even though the beach is a few seconds away from your room, and even though the AC works great, rooms and buffet breakfast is fairly decent, that's where the praise ends.
Bathrooms are very outdated, broken tiles, moldy in parts, and smells of urine and other unpleasant odours. I'm not one to pull my nose up, but this bathroom and aweful smell made me not want to use this bathroom at all!!
Beach bar is a nice touch, with bean bags and nice music tunes, but food takes forever to come out - waited over an hour for some meals to arrive. Service is also lacking and very slow. Also rather higher priced to some other beach bar/restaurants. And depending on the chef of the day - food quality will differ from one day to the next.
Overall, mixed feelings about this resort. Not great but not terrible either. Bathroom does need some serious renovation though to match the price...

We opted to pay on arrival for our xmas stay -2 rooms for 4 nights - about £1000 through Booking.com.|Their card machine wouldn’t accept our credit card nor Apple Pay for any amount. Fortunately our son has a Thai bank account and was able to pay - but in 2 installments. |The room’s view over the sea is spectacular but the piped music from next door’s property at 8am was somewhat intrusive.|The room is basic - minimum clothes storage, no drawers or shelves - we used the clothes drier and lived out of our cases. Hand towels were not provided, just a bath sheet and beach towels and there is no hot water in the sink which is in the bedroom. The shower is fine but the bath mat had seen better days. Our son was put in a cheaper room than we paid for but this was rectified after the first night. There is no provision for tea, only coffee so byo. However, the small fridge was extremely well stocked with expensive goodies which we emptied and put in a basket under the sink for collection.|Breakfast was mainly hot food (fish rice, spagbol, chicken curry etc)and lots of fresh cooked egg options. Cereal and fruit choices were basic, no yoghurts and the water machine ran out of water. Staff speak little English and although trying to be helpful had little idea of how to run a hotel where considerable building works were ongoing! The hotel’s beach coconut bar is run by a chappie who insists on playing trance music loudly from 10.30am onwards - even on Xmas Day. I asked him if he could turn down the music or play some Christmas music and he told me to find somewhere else to sit - which is difficult as there is little shade and few hotel sun beds, umbrellas and bean bags. I explained this to the hotel manager who apologised but did nothing.|All in all, lovely location on super beach but very much overpriced and not for people wanting a relaxing island getaway - more Ibiza than paradise! My advice would be to book early somewhere further south along this beach or just behind for half the price. If you want a quiet relaxing holiday - this is...
Read moreThe hotel is quite standard, with a great location on the beach and complimentary beach beds.
The breakfast is ok with lack of continental options.
However, there’s a construction site nearby that makes noise during the day, and a gate that opens and closes all night, which adds to the overall noise level. While this is not the worst noise issue, the beach bar at the hotel plays techno music from 9 AM to midnight, which seems to be a major drawback for many guests. Despite the beautiful paradise island setting, most people at the hotel prefer to go to other beach clubs because this particular beach club doesn’t play any other music. The techno music is so loud that it’s impossible to sleep before midnight, even after complaining and reading numerous reviews about this issue. Unfortunately, despite our complaints and the fact that this problem has been mentioned in other reviews, the hotel management seems indifferent or doesn’t understand the issue. If you’re looking for a place to party, this might be the spot for you. However, if you’re seeking tranquility, I recommend booking...
