I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Tonsak Resort Hotel, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The hotel is clean, fresh, and boasts an imaginative design that adds a unique touch to the stay. The spacious rooms are well thought out, providing a comfortable environment for relaxation.
The staff at Tonsak Resort Hotel are courteous and attentive, always ready to assist with any requests. However, it’s worth noting that there is a requirement for all guests to pay an additional 1,000 baht for deposit of key, no digital key cards.
While the hotel offers a relaxing area for guests with late flights, I found this service unavailable during my stay, which was disappointing. The strict checkout policy, with check-in after 3 PM and checkout at noon, can be a challenge for families or groups of young people who may need more flexibility. It raises an important question about the need for hotels to adapt their checkout times to accommodate different types of travelers.
On a broader scale, the hotel industry worldwide could improve by taking notes from establishments like Tonsak Resort. The potential for growth and modernization is evident, and it's a shame that some policies still feel outdated.
In summary, Tonsak Resort Hotel offers a solid stay with its clean and well-designed environment, but there are certainly areas for improvement, particularly regarding key policies and flexibility in...
Read moreRooms at Tonsak Resort are very aesthetic but there are so many room rules to follow if you stay there. The resort's reception is not at all what you would expect looking at the pictures and reviews online and the price they charge. It is a tiny basic reception very poor buffet not at all inclusive of foreign travellers. The room gets filled with mosquitoes and you may also spot a lizard or two crawling from under the door space. We changed 2 rooms both the Ac's supposedly had rats dead in them previous to our stay which they had cleaned as per the property manager. It's a treat for eyes but a hell for your nose and belly. Also, there is no intercom for contacting reception you need to walk up each time you need something.
The only entertainment is the evening fire show of about 10-15 mins. The food service at Tonsak ends at 7:45 pm but they serve drinks till 9 or 10 pm (other neighbouring resorts serve drinks and food until 11 -12 pm). The resort is on the stretch which has food shacks that start opening from 4- 5 pm up to 9 - 10 pm and everything goes quiet and dead soon.
The property manager will certainly try and help you out but there's only so much that...
Read moreRather poor cleaning with mold in some corners. But non of it would have been that bad, if it was for a lower price, especially in an off-season!
No hot water, unchanged bedding from the previous guests, rats that wake you up at 3am and plenty of little insects everywhere in the room.
And on top of this poor value, you are being ripped off on everything. Wine that clearly doesn’t cost 850 baht, regular bath-bombs in your room with a bath? that will be an extra 200 each. Saw a candle in the picture? that will be a 200 baht fine. Wanted a bowl of just frozen french fries that will be 200 baht.
The candle says it all. Its a 2-star hotel for a 4-star price. The refurbished rooms are made to appeal on instagram, but are sadly built on top of old rooms (the toilet remained the same). Lots of inconvenient dirty stuff, if you wanted to wash your feet after the sandy beach, you can either do it in a moldy puddle outside or go through the whole room to the shower. The mini fridge with just 2 water bottles and again quite dirty.
Luckily the location is quite nice, right on the beachfront with beautiful views, but that is more of a compliment...
