This was truly the worst hotel I’ve stayed at in any country I’ve been to. The first issue I noticed was that the water coming from the sink, shower and toilet was brown! This water is totally unsanitary you have to brush your teeth with bottled water.. There was sand in bed and all over the floor as soon as I got into the room. I was given a towel that was totally torn to shreds and had holes all over it, this should have been in the trash, not in someone’s room.. I wasn’t that surprised when I noticed the duvet was also ripped and the zipper was torn off. The room has no power unless you’re there with the key inserted so the rooms always hot when you return and you won’t be able to charge your laptop or anything while gone. The AC stopped working on the 2nd night so I woke up pouring sweat, I had to keep cycling the power in the room with the keycard about 10 times to get the AC started again. Mosquitos get into the room through the ventilation hole in bathroom which also brings a sewage smell into the bathroom whenever the light/fan is turned on. The way the rooms are designed is like a storefront window so you can see inside peoples rooms and they can see into yours even with the curtains drawn, and with this design you can hear all the other guests in their rooms around you. There was mold in bathroom and along the grout, and they claim these rooms are clean, what a joke. One of the pillow cases was also stained with blood.. If you’ve made it this far in the review then hopefully you don’t make the same mistake I did of booking this disgusting hotel, which was...
Read moreGetting right to good parts, the hotel has a good location and nice beach, the room has been recently renovated with cold air con, hot water with rain shower, good refrigerator, small flat screen TV, the room is relatively clean and without exception the staff was friendly and helpful when sought out. Now the bad, the room is extraordinarily small (for any price point). There is no place to set your luggage without stepping in it, there is only very tiny place to hang any clothes above the refrigerator which allows your clothes to drape into hot-water pot and other items on top of the refrigerator as it is the only tabletop in the room, if someone is coming in the room and you are not sitting on the bed or in the toilet, the door cannot be opened without banging into the other person. The room oddly is made of glass panels including the entry door, if you open any of the many curtains it's like you are on display for the other guests. Getting in and out your room in the morning is chore as the staircase is full of housekeeping staff sorting linens and arranging their room cleaning sets to no fault of their own as no housekeeping facilities are provided. The water in the room has a very strong odor and is yellowish in color (we've stayed elsewhere on Samet and this is not the norm), Regardless of price we did not find the hotel suitable for our needs, I suppose if you need a room and only one person it may work. We would not be booking again though as there are many other options at this price point...
Read moreMe and my friends went to Sinsamut a bit after 8 pm, was greeted by the staff and ordered. We barely managed to get our food to the table and the staff just starts picking down the tables around us! We literally just began to eat and suddenly all the tables around us was gone! Before we even finish our meal, they turned out the lights! ||When we arrive nothing, I mean nothing indicated the place was going to close soon. The restaurants around this one stayed open later, so if they were going to close the restaurant within 30 min the least the staff could have done is warn us they'll be closing before sitting down and ordering. At no point did any of the staff apologize or seem to even consider how it felt to be a guest eating, when they just closed the restaurant in the middle of the dinner! Who shuts down the lights while guests just received their food!? We literally was rushed to eat our dinner in 10 minutes from upon receiving our food, didn't even finish my drink and we left before 9 pm.||The food wasn't awesome and it has plastic tables, while the other restaurants at the beach have proper tables. Do yourself a favor and pick any, I mean any other restaurant on the beach than this one. Unnecessary to say, no tip was included...
