I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Myself and 6 friends booked this place for 3 nights over New Year and from the moment we got there things were off. Going to stick to the facts: The reception was a dark and dingy and was very unwelcoming. Not to mention about 5 of staff were just hanging around staring at us while we were being checked in by 2 others and it just felt off. No mention when booking about having to pay in cash … we asked to pay on card as a lot of the atms on the island were out of order due to flooding but they didn’t want to take our cards and were just overall really unhelpful about it. One of the reasons we booked this place over others was because it had a swim up bar in the pool ….. which is PERMANENTLY CLOSED and has been for some time. The pool opening hours were so limited we didn’t swim in it once. The rooms were disgusting. Black mould in the bathroom (especially on the back of the door) one of my friends has it all over the ceiling of the bathroom and down the side of the bed. The rooms were advertised to have balconies … but these can’t be used as the AC is there and takes up the whole space. The balcony door was not sealed properly so there add massive gaps for mosquitoes etc to come through. The bathroom had a badly designed step in front of the toilet, which a few of us fell off as it’s not clearly marked and blends is with the shower floor. The room in general was dated, the signs were faded, the room door also had gaps and generally felt unsafe. The signs everywhere. It was overkill, everywhere you looked there was a sign saying “don’t do this” “don’t do that” … you would be charged 10baht for bringing in a bottle from outside (if their own cafe and bar were open perhaps they wouldn’t have that problem) Reception closed earlier than advertised time Two of our friends found somewhere else to stay after the first night as their room had the worst of the mould. The rest of us tried to look too but as it as NY nothing was available and we had to pay upfront so wouldn’t have received any refund. In general the place was very outdated and felt like a bit of a ghost town. Not welcoming for guests to actually spend time there. 5 of the 7 of us checked out early because we just didn’t want to stay there. AC barely worked.
The only good thing about this property I would say is the location but there are far nicer...
Read moreFirst, do not repeat our mistake and do not close 5 days in a row beforehand: you may like it, you may not. No refunds will get you stuck. It’s not a small hotel, so I assume there will always be an empty room for you.
I will begin from the start — the location. The hotel is situated 5-6 minutes from the Sairee beach walkway with sea panorama, and it sounds good….Yet, you have lots and lots of hostels, hotels, bungalows and apartments right on it for the same and even cheaper price… with this perspective 5-6 minutes starts sounding absurd and long.
The next issue is elevator. There isn’t one. We lived on fourth floor and let me tell you, the stairs are not standard height, and in combination with minimal heat, it’s almost impossible.
Our room on booking.com said there is a balcony. And there was. 40 by 100 cm big. With the outside compartment of ac, leaving a place to stand, and stand only, for just one person. (We got a room for 3) The view from the balcony is a construction site and forest in the back.
The people working there are nice, yet, somewhat incompetent, English on a very poor level and the reception desk works only until 19. Yet, they helped me with getting my luggage on the 4th floor, and it was nice. Everyday we were provided with drinking water and toilet paper. Several times our sheets were changed.
The room was clean. Obviously, very old. Not very good looking and quite small for three people.
The most interesting thing, however, happened to our friends who also got a room there, room for two in a separate building. No elevator as well, much bigger balcony with table and chairs, and, surprise bugs in the bed. They ran away, not staying there even for one night. no refund and clumsy explanation — “you opened the balcony and bugs came from the outside” Unfortunately, our mistake was not taking pictures.
In our room there were no bugs.
In general, it’s not a bad place, it’s really trying its best, but may be lacking proper management and financial resources to keep up with nearby, multiple, competitors. So if you consider it — get one night and decide on spot. This will be your...
