Orange Tree House — Hotel in Krabi Province

A small 14 room hotel, with all rooms on the second floor. The reception area and lobby occupy only a portion of the ground level. The remainder is taken up with mainly clothes shops, laundry and very small bar, all accessible from the street.|||Pros|||• Super central location with the weekend night market literally outside the font door. The riverfront is just around the corner.||• Great price via Agoda.||• Staff are ok.||• Free daily water, tea/coffee. Soap, kettle, fridge, hair dryer. ||• I like the fact that the hotel reuses their hotel water bottles, hoping they are BPA free?||• Generous size rooms with ample storage and lighting options.||• Air con and hot water were good.||• Large sitting area in lobby.||Cons||• The weekend night market closes around 11 pm, however the terrible blaring, live pub music opposite AND across the road finishes around midnight.||• 7.30 am woken by ladies yelling outside the hotel and more loud music. Possibly coming from the laundry shop. Not the hotel's fault.||• Paint! The biggest, and most easily fixed, downfall of the hotel is worn and dirty paint. Especially the doors and trimmings.||• Cable TV had only one English channel working. Staff said twice that they would take a look, but never did.||• The light blue walls just didn't make sense to me, considering the focus on their ‘orange’ theme. NOT of great importance, but detracts from the overall...

this hotel is basic. only stay here if you are on a tight budget. it's located right on walking street, and we had the unfortunate experience of arriving on Friday night during the night market. the taxi could only drop us off at the edge of the market, and we had to walk with all of our luggage through the middle of the extremely crowded market. we could barely get through, and it was not the best way to start our stay in Krabi Town. my four-year old nephew fell going up the stairs and hit his head something fierce. the man at the front desk would not give us ice for the child's black eye, even though we saw that the hotel had ice available. that's pretty poor service, if you ask me. Krabi Town is a great stop over for any destinations in the Andaman Sea, but we would definitely stay...

Sommes venus ici au vu des précédents avis très positifs mais n'avons pas compris autant d'éloges.||||Points positifs:||-bon emplacement (centre ville de Krabi Town, on trouve tout ce qu'on veut juste à côté, magasins, restau, marché...)||-accueil correct de la part d'une prénommée OIL parlant assez bien anglais (contrairement à tous ses collèges ne parlant pas du tout anglais pour la plupart)||-chambre relativement propre (on peut mieux faire mais disons que c'est le minimum syndical)||- matelas confortable (assez ferme) dans la chambre 8||||Points négatifs:||-pas de rideau de douche, ni de bac à douche ou marche, ce qui signifie que lorsqu'on prend sa douche on inonde entièrement toute la salle de bain, pas agréable pour ceux passant derrière.||- draps tachés||- vous êtes en centre ville, donc on entend forcément des bruits de la rue||- mauvaise insonorisation entre les différentes chambres||- frigo bruyant||- les lits grincent dans la chambre 3 et ne sont pas très confortables ||||A noter, nous avons dû changer de chambre en cours de séjour. Nous avons mis cette note en tenant compte uniquement de notre première chambre (numéro 8) car notre seconde chambre (numéro 3) était pitoyable !!||||Nous recommandons de choisir une chambre à numéro pair (chambre grand lit "king size"), les chambres numéros pairs ont une fenêtre avec vue sur la rue marché.||Toutes les chambres à numéro impair (2 lits séparés) ont une fenêtre donnant sur un mur à 1m avec des bureaux juste en face et plein de monde à 1m derrière votre grande fenêtre. Nous avons donc du laisser les rideaux de la chambre complètement fermés (et rester dans le noir 24h/24 pour éviter ce fort vis à vis).||- bruit très gênant en continu dans la chambre numéro 3 dû au fait que le groupe extérieur de climatisation de vos voisins est situé sous votre fenêtre et le mur en face fait résonner ce bruit de fond.||||Cet hotel est quand même correct dans l'ensemble à la condition que vous ayez une chambre à numéro pair donnant sur la rue. Nous déconseillons donc les autres chambres et particulièrement la numéro 3)||||Grâce à l'avis d'une précédente personne nous avons tenté de négocier le tarif de la chambre et avons réussi à obtenir comme lui 750 au lieu de 900 bath. (Et heureusement car on peut trouver mieux pour moins cher...
