Eden Resort & Villas Phuket Patong — Hotel in Patong

It is a horrible experience and I am currently suffering and so mad on this. This is the hotel that I would definitely say no when others ask about it and hope everybody knows how terrible my experience is.

Some information about my experience:

I made two reservations at the end of Dec 2024 for the room in early Feb 2025. When I made the reservations, there was not a single notice or word saying "not-refundable if cancel". Therefore, it should be somehow cancellable with full refund or with some penalty if the cancellation is close to the stay date. This is how the contract works and other hotels are all following this rule. If not-refundable, you should always notice in advance and provide a time line.

Why it is horrible:

The price raised dramatically (more than 3x) when I made the reservations. It costed me more than 800 usd to book the two-day reservation. Okay, I accepted it and made the reservations. I am fine with this if the second point did not happen.

Due to the safety concerns (there were people being highjacked in previous weeks) , I approach the hotel days ago (at the very beginning of January, about a month before my stay date!) to request a cancellation on my reservations. However, the hotel refused to communicate and provide any refund. Again, nobody and not a single word notice me about this when I made the reservation and they are now saying this is the "policy". How ridiculous it is! Why the "policy" is not there when I made the reservations? Check out every other hotels, not a single hotel do this. I am feeling like being robbed by the hotel. It is against the reservation contract to do so. I raised the request just few days after my reservation when the safety issue happened and one month before the stay date!

Currently, they are still holding my money and refuse communication. Originally I was planning t rebook it and visit Phuket when the safety conditions become better in a month or two. But due to what I have been through, I am so disappointed on this hotel and even the area. I love the beautiful scenery there when I look at the photos online, but more focus to keep my money safe and stay away from being robbed (I am using the word here as it is exactly what I am feeling and I think it is appropriate) again.

This is what I have been through. I am telling just the truth with not a single fake or inappropriate word to exaggerate the situation. Hope it is helpful to all the future potential guests especially those not 100% sure about the reservations with flexibility needed to even handle the extreme case as I do (the safety issue that happen suddenly) which I think applicable to every body except you are booking for a room tomorrow and already...

Incredible!! If you’re looking to visit Patong or Phuket in general, BOOK THIS HOTEL!! Please ignore some of the photos on Google, the hotel has been fully refurbished (you’ll spot the difference between some photos). We changed to this hotel just before we came to Patong and it’s the best decision we made.

You can tell there has been recent refurbishment, the design and whole feel of the place is worlds away from the hustle of Patong and a real sanctuary. If you’re looking for somewhere central but also removed like we were, this is the place for you. There was always maintenance work going on, whether it be to the rooms or the beautiful greenery which is great to see and clearly the investment in this hotel is ongoing.

The room was modern, spacious, and the indoor/ outdoor feel of the shower was a nice touch and a highlight. We always received plenty of water each day, complimentary treats from the mini bar and it truly felt like home for the time we stayed. The towel art left on the bed was a very sweet touch (see photo attached)

As for the staff, DO NOT listen to any reviews giving a negative view of the staff. We/ our bags did not get searched and in actual fact our umbrella (provided by Eden) was taken, when we reported this to them there was no hassle, no ask for payment, no suspicions and they were very understanding. The kindest, most generous people we came across in our entire trip.

We were continuously impressed by the staff, we are only sorry we didn’t get all of their names! The names we did get who we’d like to call out are Tid, James and Jay, as well as everyone in the restaurant area. THANK YOU for being incredible and making an already fantastic hotel a 10/10. It’s always sad to leave but saying goodbye to these wonderful people was truly a shame!

As for the food, the breakfast offers were plentiful especially considering this is a smaller hotel, evening food was reasonably priced, DELICIOUS and we are at the Adam eatery most nights.

If you are looking to visit Patong or Phuket in general, do me a favour and stay here. There isn’t a bad word we could say.
