I stayed in the loft for 5 days. I liked that I had my own private pool and the property was roomy and the air conditioner worked very well.
A few issues I had is when you book on their website it uses Paypal to hold your deposit, electrical issue, you have to wait while they go look at your room, construction, and they will not provide a receipt / folio.
2) The electrical outlets are weird where if you plug a USB-C into the power outlet and touch the end (the part you plug into your device) it will zap you, so not sure if this is safe for any electronics.
Checking out. When checking out of the hotel you will need to wait a few minutes while they look into your room to make sure everything is "ok". I stayed at many luxury hotels and even regular ones like Marriott and Hilton and you can just leave at checkout without waiting for someone to go to your room. If you use the mini bar or there are any issues it will always be charged to my credit card, that's fine. In this case I mean the mini bar was complimentary. There are a few things you can take that has a price tag on it like tote bag for less than $3 USD I believe, but not worth waiting around for. Like I said, my credit card can just be charged for whatever needs charging, I don't mind.
Construction. There is loud construction in the morning, like drilling, hammering, banging of metals, so you didn't want to stay in your room too long, which benefited us since it made us leave to go out and start our day lol.
No folio / receipt. When we asked for a folio / receipt during checkout which I normally get at all hotels, just to have, they did not understand what I was asking for. Their response was since there are no charges, there is nothing to give when closing me out. I tried to explain what a folio is, but I don't think they understood the concept and kept just saying there are no charges so they can not provide any documentation at the end of my stay. There does not need to be charges to have a folio, but after a few back and forth of their confusion, I just gave up since I didn't want to make it an issue. This is something that should be standard and simple if anyone wanted one.
It wasn't all bad. Breakfast buffet was good. You, is the person who checked us in and remembered who we were when he saw us the next morning and throughout our stay. He was very helpful and showed us up to the rooftop restaurant and gave us a small tour of the property from there while looking down. He was exceptional, friendly, and professional and is an asset to the property. It is also right on the beach which is what I liked about it. The guests next door were loud, but management offered us a solution for it. The staff were nice and friendly.
As much as I did like the property there were a lot more negatives than positives and it would be hard for me to come back again when there were so many issues unfortunately and better options at the $820 / night price point (including taxes/fees). I don't mind paying this or more, I also just expect a little more as well at this...
Read moreWe were disappointed with this hotel! I had so much hope for it and high expectations before arriving, given the high price point. Its location is unbeatable - to find a boutique resort with a pool, beach access, and right in downtown Patong is rare. Given the craziness of Patong, we would re-evaluate staying in the city (as opposed to a resort elsewhere). Reserving a chair on the beach is about 100 baht and makes for good people watching, though.
We used the transfer service offered by the hotel from the airport, which is on the higher end, but provides convenience of timing and private transfer. Upon arrival, we requested late check out and were told 1PM is the latest and if we had requested before arriving, they would have accommodated us. Because we had 1PM check out, they held our luggage and allowed us to use the spa showers before heading to the airport, which was nice.
My qualms include - The rooms are nice, but the fruit basket provided in the room is literally 3 oranges on a plate. The first night, we had such noisy neighbors. We could hear them partying next door until 1AM. We called twice to the front desk to quiet them. They finally left at 2AM. The next morning, we requested a room change. They did move us after letting us know they were giving up the room from another couple who had requested it. We wanted to do laundry at the resort, but it was literally 5x-10x than at other hotels and at cleaners. We were appalled at the prices. The first day we arrived, all pool chairs (4) and beach chairs (~10) were taken. We didn't have anywhere to sit. We ate lunch at the restaurant one day and breakfast two days. The food was not good - often cold (and served outdoors so flies, etc.). Keep expectations low! The water temperature in the shower varied by at least 20 degrees at a time. I suspect it would change when toilets were flushed, which was about every 30 seconds. The water would become scalding hot that I would have to step out of it every time. The pool water was extremely cold! It's a great lap pool if you'd like to swim, but it was too cold for us to wade in it. There was a stain on the bed sheets at check-in (which they promptly changed after I called the front desk) and a hole in one of the bath towels.
Overall, I expected more from a hotel with a high price point. I guess you are primarily paying...
Read moreI just spent 10 days at the property. The rooms are adequate, but the bed was hard. I would have expected a memory foam or perhaps a more luxury mattress. Since I also stayed prior on this same trip at Pan Pacific in Yangon, I can affirm that La Flora bedding didn't par along with decor. Another thing I can say is that the frontdesk had to be scolded and asked if the hotel truly is "five" star. I should have not had to raise eyebrow. The breakfast buffet was nice, but repeatative. Again, I can compare with Pan Pacific's, which was amazing. The outdoor staff here along with maid staff were five star. The maid for our room was sweet. She made sure our turndown as well as incense was perfect each night. The outdoor guards made crossing the street a breeze by stopping traffic, and the back beach guards kept the sun decks and pool sticky for hotel guests. In other words, no one other than property guests were ever on the property. I did use the fitness center. No, it's not a gym; however, the equipment allowed me to stay in routine. I didn't use the spa facility, but it looked clean. Overall, the property is clean. English was weak with some staff, and better with others. It's always interesting after visiting Thailand now for some 22 years to wonder why the refusal. The room I stayed included the mini bar, and it was restocked daily. Bottled drinking water was well stocked daily as well. It would have been better if more coffee plus creamer was supplied. My bad as I also neglected to as the maid for more. The room's direct pool access was great, but don't venture out to swim at dusk or dawn due to mosquitos that party during those times. Perhaps the hotel should spray a repellent, yet it maybe difficult with the total environment. Would I stay here again? Probably, as I did have a good stay overall. Enjoy Pa Tong Beach, as I've been coming to this beach...
