The Kee Resort & Spa in Phuket is an exceptional destination that promises a blend of luxury, comfort, and unforgettable experiences. Recently, Yasmeen and I had the pleasure of staying here, and our time at The Kee was nothing short of spectacular.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and a level of hospitality that made us feel right at home. The check-in process was seamless, and we were quickly escorted to our room, which was a perfect blend of modern elegance and traditional Thai touches. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and boasted stunning views of the surrounding area. The private balcony was a delightful bonus, offering a tranquil spot to enjoy morning coffee or evening cocktails.
The Kee Resort's location is ideal for anyone wanting to explore the vibrant heart of Phuket. Situated just a short walk from Patong Beach, we had easy access to the lively nightlife, shopping, and dining options that the area is famous for. Despite its central location, the resort offers a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city.
One of the highlights of our stay was the resort's rooftop Sky Lounge. With its panoramic views of Patong and the Andaman Sea, it quickly became our favorite spot for both relaxation and socializing. The ambiance is sophisticated yet relaxed, making it perfect for enjoying a cocktail while watching the sunset. The mixologists at the bar are highly skilled, and the drink menu offers a wide range of creative and classic options.
The dining experiences at The Kee Resort are equally impressive. We enjoyed several meals at the Kee Kitchen, the resort's main restaurant. The breakfast buffet was extensive, featuring a variety of both Western and Asian dishes, all prepared to perfection. For dinner, the menu offered an array of international and local cuisine, and every dish we tried was delicious and beautifully presented. One memorable evening included a themed dinner night, which provided a wonderful taste of local culture and cuisine.
The Kee Resort also boasts an exceptional spa, where we indulged in a couple's massage that was both rejuvenating and relaxing. The therapists were highly professional, and the serene environment of the spa made it a perfect escape from our busy schedules. The resort also offers a range of other amenities, including a well-equipped fitness center and a stunning lagoon-style swimming pool. We spent many afternoons lounging by the pool, enjoying the poolside bar service and the lush, tropical surroundings.
What truly sets The Kee Resort apart, however, is the level of service. Every member of the staff we encountered was friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay as enjoyable as possible. From providing excellent recommendations for local attractions to accommodating special requests, their dedication to guest satisfaction was evident throughout our stay.
In summary, The Kee Resort & Spa in Phuket is a top-notch choice for anyone seeking a luxurious and memorable stay. From its prime location and exquisite dining options to the outstanding service and serene spa, every aspect of the resort is designed to provide an exceptional experience. Our time at The Kee was truly unforgettable, and we can't wait to return. For a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and unparalleled hospitality, The Kee Resort is the place to be.

Read moreThe resort is smack bang in the middle of the chaos but has a nice pool and bar and is quiet given the area! You have to expect, has a pool bar that plays a lot of music like pit bull, closes at 7pm though which is good for noise. I'd say it has a bogan appeal, f**k you was a welcome message written in the ash tray by the lifts by a guest. Maybe just be aware of the clientele if you have family, but hey that culture floats others boats so all personal preference! This is what I didn't like:1. I booked last minute and found a cheaper price online than at the counter, there was no issue to honour this price. We also got two upgrades to a pool side, we didn't ask for which was lovely of them (it was due having no choice as all cheaper rooms were booked but still). My boyfriend was getting a tattoo whilst in Patong and we checked on arrival if we could extend by a night if need be the night or morning before we were due to check out and was informed this was no problem. We checked the night before and explained we wanted to stay an additional night and that we obviously wanted to keep the same room. He said no issue. Next day it was a huge issue.. we were informed we needed to pay over 1,000thb more to stay cos we got an upgrade and they can't honour it again. Or check out to a basic room, pack our backs and check out and wait until our new room would be free. We chose to check out and save the drama to the holiday inn, which was much better in service, the pool, the price and security.2. To stay you need a 5,000THB deposit that takes 3 weeks minimum to get back or your passport (we stayed at the 5 star mandarin oreintal and only needed $100 returned in onr week and the hoiday inn 1000thb, Or cash equivilnt in another currency. These arent locked up, they are kept in a shared clear folder with all other passports behind the concierge desk for all eyes to see (refer to photos). There's no security easily seen (holiday inn has a gated commune w security throughout). If i were a thief I would have taken the whole lot easy, it's a 24 hour reception, it's an easy target. Also, all guests full names, passport numbers, and room numbers are kept by the restaurant in plain view on the counter. I could count the number of AUS guests whilst i was there waiting to be seated for breakfast on numerous occassioms Charging to another room would have been a breeze if I were a dishonest person.I've included a photo of the names just to prove a point and I can say I was never followed up or informed my privacy had been compromised. To make matters worse they didn't even move the list after I took this picture or asked me why i was taking it. This is just my personal opinion, and perhaps I am a bit overly cautious when it comes to identity theft after a $10k credit card attempted to be ordered in my name once. But for me, any positives far outweighed the negatives...
Read moreThe Kee Resort was once my favorite and only place I wanted to stay in Phuket, we came so many times that all the staff knew our names and we knew most of the staff by name. Attention to detail was exceptional from having our names on the TV when we arrived and cleaning staff never forgetting to put water in the room and extra towels supplied in the bathroom. Staff were always smiling and happy and would stop and chat with us, it was a wonderful experience and kept me coming back year after year. The pool bar staff were always happy and kept you entertained we even took some of them out after they finished work.
We just spent 2 nights at the Kee, only one of the original staff was present and most of the staff were not very happy very few smiling and happy. Cleaning staff forgot to replace the water. Over the years I have seen all the small details that made the experience enjoyable disappear from sugar being removed from the room, to less towels, to having to keep asking for more bacon at breakfast. Breakfast used to be one of the best in Patong. Its attention to detail that matters most and all these small details make the experience less enjoyable. We didn’t even bother to have breakfast at The Kee it was cheaper and better quality food to go out to the Coffee Club a few minutes walk down the road.
One of the most disappointing experience was the pool bar which used to be exciting and fun, now the excitement extends to Jenga and Connect Four.
We have already booked and paid for a few more days at the Kee this trip and normally I would be excited to be returning but now we are not that excited to return and I am wishing we hadn’t booked and paid for it already.
The hotel is not cheap and they are always busy I think because of the location. Management and owners are I think trying to maximize profit taking some examples from corporate hotels. Eg 1 less towel results in a saving of x dollars per month hence increasing profits accordingly. For me this is disappointing and not customer focused which I think every hotel should be. If you only make 90% of the profit this year that’s still profit. Corporate focused owners and business feel they have to increase profits every year and they can do this by cost cutting which includes removing some of the details and not employing and training staff better. The problems with the Kee now is not the staffs problem it’s a management issue and an owners issue if you share the profit with staff and train them better and keep good people and maintain customer focus you will reap the benefits and people like me won’t be compelled to write these types of reviews.
This will be our last trip to the Kee and I am a little sad about as we had so much fun...
