Pictures not included in this review as the place looks exactly like the ones they advertise with. Very pleasing to the eyes.
A comfy place with chic design. It is near many amenities like the 711. Countless Thai massage parlours are just a hair jump away. They also have a massage place in lvl 3 which is a tiny bit more expensive (50bhat?) than the massage places outside. It is a steal considering they are 2000% cleaner and have better hygiene.
Taxis and tutu cars can be found in abundance near the entrance. Pros: approx. 5 min walk away from platinum mall area has 2 well stocked 711s very close by near to lots of awesome breakfast/brunch places staff are amazing and friendly. I had met with some trouble where I lost my phone. The staff were very helpful. We managed to find my phone in the end.
The cons below are quite nitty gritty and picky. Though this place is comfy, it does lack quite a bit for those who wants a 80% fuss free holiday.
the bath area doesn’t have a shower curtain or glass door. No matter how careful you are when showering, the toilet will flood as there is nothing to prevent the water from splashing out. This is not very safe for pregnant women, the elderly or children as it can be quite slippery.
the hotel doesn’t provide all the necessities. They only provide 2 shower caps and 2 cups. They don’t provide any toothbrushes/tooth paste or lotion.
there isn’t space to hang 2 towels. If you hang it at the clothes area, your towel will get dirty. If you hang it together with the other towels, it’ll continue to be wet and become stale.
blankets are paper thin. Even with the aircon at 27 degrees and no fan, it is very cold at night and hard to fall asleep
walls are thinner than the blanket. I could hear my neighbours very vividly. I know they have a child and have no qualms with hurling violent insults at each other at 2am with the child's presence.
This brings me to the next point where I tried to call the concierge for help. But they have nothing on the phone nor have any pamphlet letting us know what number to call. Just awesome.
I was saved by another angry neighbour who banged on their door. The husband cried and left.
So in conclusion, if you are on a budget with 3 friends, yes this is an awesome place. Otherwise, it’ll be a better idea to spend about $20 more a night to...
Read moreI valued my life. IMO This hotel failed terribly in Fire Safety. Nothing can compensate for fire safety.
Exiting a building / hotel swiftly and safely is the epitome of a responsible hotelier in an unlikely event of an emergency.
The hotel is actually located on the 3rd and 4th floor of a rather long buillding. Sharing another hotel on 2nd floor and multiple restaurants on the ground floor.
The interior itself looks really inviting and the rooms are very comfortable. High praises here.
Emergency evacuation plan is missing in every room.
Based on the floor plan seen at the lift lobby, there are 3 emergency exits. One in the middle behind the lift where the lobby is located; one at the far right of the building; one at the far left of the building (facing the main road). Take note that the central laundry room is just next to lobby lift and the emergency stairs.
I so happened to have a room facing what technically is a emergency stairs. Sadly, the stairs ended on the 3rd floor...and the stairs leading downwards to the ground floor were demolished leaving a gaping hole covered with metal ironmongery. Below it, it’s a restaurant front façade facing the main road. There’s no way that one could get to the ground floor safely.
The emergency exit sign was tampered with the direction changed towards the lobby.
Out of curiousity, I had a peek at the emergency stairs behind the lift lobby...it was obstructed (at the time when I was looking).
The likelihood of a fire could be low, but when it happens it would...
Read morei book this hotel because of its location in pratunam area, very close to the infamous Platinum mall. the hotel itself is a bit hidden in one of the alley of Pratunam. to reach the place, its not directly accessible by car, so you have to drag your luggage about 50m from the alley (not the main road). the hotel share a building with one other hotel (siam best) and a seafood restaurant on the ground floor. good thing they have a working elevator to bring your luggage||check in was a breeze, but they will require everyone's passport and security deposit of 1000baht per room. i book the cheapest room, and size was decent as they mentioned in the website. toilet is working well and bed is okay.||my negative comments about the stay was, my room is facing a parking lot, which can be noisy at night with car going through steel plates (i assume). other than that i don't have any significant issues for the price i paid.||they have a massage place which i'm not sure if its open. and a few vending machines for your snacking needs.||the place is about 200m from the infamous sabsab wanton mee, so if you want to be the first queueing, marwin is very close. a lot of shop nearby, very ideal for a shopping trip. will be back for sure, considering the price, location,...
