February 1, 2019 We (couple) sought out a full body massage in Bangkok. There are many choices. We walked by some places where the gals are picking what we could only assume are nits out of their co-workers hair. We never slowed down. We stopped at the Foot Haven and asked about a one hour massage for each of us. Their listed price was 500 baht per hour for an oil massage. We insisted on clean towels etc. We have made that mistake before in Asia, just be upfront and insist on what you want. We got offered an extra 10 minute hot stone treatment which was added to the hour long oil massage. Very nice! When we went upstairs we got 2 clean towels each, plus a pair of disposable undies factory sealed in cellophane. That is actually a first for us. The Mrs got a hair cap (similar to a shower cap). We both had the best massages since we left home in Canada, maybe even longer! If it was luck of the draw, I don’t know but we did have excellent therapists. I often wonder what their qualifications are, but these two women knew which muscles hurt, and how to hit that exact spot. I wish we had have found the Foot Haven before our last day in Bangkok. We rate them at least a 9 out of 10. Their only downfall is their lack of English which is not really their fault as we don’t speak Thai. We enjoyed a very therapeutic massage, and enjoyed a relaxing evening before hitting the road with backpacks and...
Read moreDO NOT GET A MASSAGE HERE. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE (not this spa).
It was raining extremely hard and we just wanted to take shelter for a short while. The receptionist was VERY RUDE. she slammed the menu while we were facing our backs and we got surprised and shocked. She was shouting at us in Thailand while slamming the menu behind our backs. We could not understand. Because of that, we were forced to walk away and got wet under the rain. She was not doing sales because SHE LOOKED ANNOYED and MAD.
We expect that receptionists should be more polite and welcoming. She could have just asked us to leave politely or confront us politely (for example could have said ‘sorry if you dont plan to get a massage, kindly move to another area. I hope you understand’); I know some cultures are not confrontational but asking to politely leave would be more undertaking rather than slamming the menu at our backs.
We planned to get a massage there but because she did that to us, we walked away and had our massage in another establishment; you lost one of many customers. We suggest to hire someone else or train them to be polite. Slamming things to ask customers to leave is not attractive. This review could have beeb avoided if it weren’t for...
Read moreI came with my sister and we had VERY different experiences. I would have left a 5 star review if she hadn’t had such a bad experience. I had the one and a half foot, hand and back massage from Ann. She was very professional, hard in all the right places and knew exactly what she was doing. I have had many massages in Thailand and this would be up there as one of the best!
My sister, however had an awful massage by one of the masseuses. We didn’t get her name but she was an older lady. We only tipped Ann as my sister was extremely annoyed by hers. She left feeling bruised and fed up by her massage. She could clearly see that there was no system or structure to her massage when being sat next to me and comparing it to mine. For example, she had a foot bath for 2 minutes whilst she got her extremely short hand and arm massage whereas my one arm lasted longer than both her arms put together. Ann also cleaned my feet in the foot bath whereas my sister’s feet just got yanked out of the bath and patted dry.
It is a shame as we didn’t get her name to warn you of her but if you go, I would recommend...
