HOTEL AKÇINAR — Hotel in Fatih

This was our third time in Istanbul and during first two stays we stayed at the Beyazit area, but this time we decided to give Sirkeci and hotel Akçinar a try, and we definitely didn’t regret it! Firstly, we got a room on the third floor which was quite nice but we wanted a room on a higher floor, and after we asked hotel manager he gave us the most comfortable room on the fifth floor, which had an amazing view of the main Sirkeci street. All the other staff members were very polite as well and helped us whenever we needed it. Moreover, we were amazed by the terrace on the top of the hotel which overlooks the beautiful Bosphorus, 15 Temmuz bridge and Galata tower. Breakfast was good and staff always refilled plates so you won’t stay hungry even if you come at the end of the breakfast time. Also, Turkish tea was free throughout the day. One small detail we appreciated was the Qibla direction sticker, which makes this hotel perfect for Muslim families. The metro and tramway stations are really close, both less than 100 meters away. I booked 2 rooms for 6 persons which 1 room for 5 persons and another 1 room for 1 person. That 1 room for 1 person have double bed. I paid for 1 person’s price since i booked at agoda and agoda give us that price. The receptionist mad at us and said we need to pay for 2 person since the room have double bed (for 2 person). Also, we accidently broke the bed (that’s our fault) and the receptionist ask for money. We thought the money go to the hotel’s account bank but the receptionist take the money for himself. One of the receptionist very rude to us. We explained everything but still mad at us. The hotel have water dispenser for the guests but that receptionist didn’t let us take the water. I really sad for the service from that receptionist. Overall about hotel is good but that one receptionist...

it s my third time at Hotel Akcinar, for 9 nights. to me , this hotel is the heart and the soul of Istanbul..it s amazing stay in every meaning of this word..i want to thank every single member of the reception: Suat , Ugur, Mostafa ,Fatih..not forgetting the kind owner Rifat..they all are my family in this city..worthy to mention, the welcoming ,the safety ,the generousity , the cleanliness, the food ,the location...etc. all is perfect indeed...Thanks again...
