Very nice hotel, professionally run. The hotel grounds are very spacious for a city hotel, and there is even room to take short walks in the extensive gardens.||It is obviouslly that the hotel is well run in a good way; everything runs smoothly without the guests noticing.||The Executive Lounge is highly recommended. Very high-quality food (extensive breakfast and a small but fine buffet for ‘dinner’). The lounge is open throughout the day for guests to refresh themselves with cold drinks.||The highlight of the hotel is the large and very popular outdoor pool. For many guests, this is certainly the reason to book the Swisshotel in Izmir.||There is also another indoor pool in the spa area, which is also worth a visit.||The fitness room is spacious and equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. Our son went there regularly.||Our rooms were always very well cleaned. Many thanks to the lovely housekeepers. The entire hotel is in a very clean and well-maintained condition. However, some of the furniture shows that some of the inventory should be replaced in the near future.||We found it annoying that there are always guests who do not comply with the smoking ban. Due to the air conditioning, you can smell the acrid tobacco smoke in mostly all rooms on one floor. Disgusting! The hotel management should intervene and report these guests! We do not want to endure cigarette smoke. Unfortunately, nothing is really being done about it.||The staff are almost without exception extremely friendly, attentive and committed. It's fun to engage in small talk with them. Unfortunatelly there are a few exceptions, mainly at the reception desk. Unfortunately, in recent years we have repeatedly found that some reception staff are disproportionately arrogant and even condescending, believing that they do not have to treat guests as paying customers, but that guests should instead be submissive and grateful. This is not an exception and does not just ‘happen’. We never let this slide, we friendly but clearly put this employee in their place.. The hotel management needs to correct this mess and finally ensure that the reception staff are trained in friendliness and how to deal with guests (we guests are the ones who ensure that they have their jobs! not the other way around).||Enough criticism, though. Our justified criticism is simply intended to provide constructive feedback to the hotel management on areas where there is room for improvement.||Ultimately, however, we would like to express our special thanks to a member of the reception staff, who should teach her colleagues how to be nice, polite and respectful to one another (as you can see, there is another way). Thank you very much, Ms Sude ..., you dealt with our concerns very well and very professionally and satisfied us completely. Perfect!||We would also like to express our sincere thanks to Mr Chef Mert from the main restaurant. His incredibly friendly and courteous manner was a great asset to us every time. In addition, his top-notch preparation and cooking skills always ensure delicious meals. Thank you very much, Chef Mert, please stay that way. It is a pleasure to know that you are...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Swissôtel Büyük Efes İzmir, and from the moment I arrived, it was clear that this was a truly exceptional hotel. Everything about my stay—from the elegant furnishings to the outstanding service—exceeded my expectations.
The hotel itself is stunning, with beautifully designed interiors that blend luxury and comfort seamlessly. The lobby is a masterpiece, with high ceilings, tasteful decor, and plush seating that sets the tone for a sophisticated stay. My room was equally impressive: spacious, immaculately clean, and furnished with high-end pieces that made it feel like a private retreat. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in, and the attention to detail—from the quality linens to the perfectly arranged lighting—was impeccable.
What truly made my experience unforgettable, however, was the incredible staff. Every member of the team was friendly, professional, and eager to ensure that guests had everything they needed. I especially want to highlight Ayşe, who went above and beyond to make my stay special. Her warm and welcoming attitude every morning at breakfast made every interaction a pleasure, and she handled every request with efficiency and a genuine smile. Whether it was offering local recommendations, assisting with reservations, or simply checking in to see if I needed anything, her dedication to excellent service was evident. She is truly what makes the customer experience feel so special.
The dining experience at Swissôtel Büyük Efes İzmir was also outstanding. Breakfast was a feast of fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the on-site restaurants offered delicious meals with impeccable presentation. The amenities, including the spa and fitness center, were top-notch, further adding to the luxurious experience.
I want to also mention to Doğansu, who provided top-notch hospitality throughout my visit. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and professional, making sure I had everything I needed without being intrusive. Her warm demeanor and genuine care for guests truly elevated the experience. It’s rare to find service that feels this personal and refined, and Doğansu made sure that every detail was taken care of seamlessly.
If you’re in İzmir, Café Swiss is a must-visit, whether for a quick coffee, a business meeting, or a leisurely meal. With an elegant ambiance, exceptional food, and outstanding service from professionals like Ayşe and Doğansu, it’s a place that guarantees a five-star experience every time.
Overall, my stay at Swissôtel Büyük Efes İzmir was nothing short of perfect. The combination of breathtaking design, world-class service, and an atmosphere of refined elegance makes this a true five-star destination. A heartfelt thank you to Ayşe and the entire team for making this such a memorable visit—I can’t wait to...

A very peculiar hotel. Inside the city, located in one of the nicest quarters of Turkey, Kültür mahallesi (Culture quarter) an upper middle class dwelling in Alsancak with a lot of food and dining options, design shops, luxury apartments, museums and a huge park etc. Hotel rooms are refurbished with a powerful sense and keen eye on detail. Very quality furniture. Mini freeze full of a variety of beverages, alcoholic and nonalcoholic. A nespresso machine, very gently there. Carefully thought details in the bathroom. Swiss Hotel Efes is an 'art hotel', full of art pieces most of which were originally commissioned to known artists of Turkey and from abroad, specifially to be exhibited in the hotel. SPA section is a marvel. Massage, sauna, hammam services and people are excellent. Fitness center is unequalled with the most modern machinery (countless treadmills and cutting-edge fitness machines) and spacious, vast rooms allocated to yoga, pilates et al. And as for food; woouw.. Serving with three different (or four) kitchens, Swiss Hotel Efes offers a splendid menu, each dish specifically crafted and designed for a high savouring mouth. The staff is very hospitable, smiling and very kind towards the guests. This was a very lively and warm experience you wouldn't expect from an otherwise 'cold, luxury hotel'. Somehow the hotel is imbued with spirit, colours, a feeling of 'the human' and an ample sense of generosity. This hotel, once established in the early modern years of Turkish Republic has a special place in Turkish Republican cultural history, arhitecture and history of entertainment. In the 60s and 70s it hosted great stars, film artists and singers who used to take place in venues in the nearby 'İzmir Fuarı' (now a huge in-city park named Culturepark) Their poses by the swimming pool were cult images of the rise of popular culture in Turkey. In addition to various ceramic and sculptoral art pieces , by several famous artists such as Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, Jale Yılmabaşar, Seçkin Pirim, Şadi Çalık and others, you can also see those magazine photos of Turkish celebrities like Gönül Yazar, Zeki Müren, Ajda Pekkan, who once and for all put their mark in the history of the hotel. That is why Efes Hotel is maybe so very charming, it exhibits great works of sophisticated art but also has a unique place in the history of Turkish magazine and paparazzi culture. The famous façade associated with 60s boxed retro design, first drawn as blueprint by Paul Bonatz, an artist who came to Turkey as an invitee of the young, modern Turkish Republic, then reworked by Fatih Uran, is very much exemplary of the 60s in world architecture, where rationalism was making its way to a less rigid style, with a tinge of the great 'dolce vita' of the 60s. A warm and excellent experience THAT...
