I stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott Antalya for 3 nights in October 2025.
The rooms were fantastic and replete with amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful, with most speaking excellent English. The location was just okay though. Although nominally close to the airport, it was inconvenient to reach and was on the outskirts of the city, requiring more effort to explore the downtown attractions.
Although the rooms were slightly more expensive than the other Turkish hotels I stayed at, you could definitely see the value you are getting - the rooms were far far better than the hotels which were 25% cheaper.
The rooms were extremely large. There was a spacious kitchen and eating area, plenty of space to lounge while watching TV (I actually used this space to unpack my belongings), a good sized bedroom, and a compact bathroom with a great shower.
The room was fully furnished - there was a stove, oven, dishwasher, a kitchen sink, a good-sized refridgerator and freezer, what looked like some electronic grill/press, and even a washing machine. It also came stocked with dishware, utensils, glasses, along with an assortment of cookingware like pans, knives, and a grater. I didn't use any of this (and maybe I was thus overpaying for the room) but it was a nice touch. There was also a safe, coat hangers, and the hotel provided two pairs of free slippers.
The toilet had a built-in bidet system though the first time I used it, the angle was off and it squirted water on to the floor. Afterwards, I think the cleaning staff adjusted the settings so it wasn't a problem.
I have very few points of criticism. The air conditioner was a bit hard to work out (there was a separate remote). It kept turning on when I just wanted it off. At night you could hear traffic but it wasn't a big deal. Housekeeping also seemed to like always opening the windows (though I think that's a cultural thing that I learned from the local museums, due to Antalya's hot summers and mild winters they are used to letting the breeze cool down the house).
Hotel staff was great! Very friendly and very helpful with directions (providing local maps), and arranging taxi rides and wake-up calls. I arrived early on the first day and there was no problem with early check-in. Most of the staff spoke excellent English so there were never any communication issues.
Complimentary breakfast was provided which I ate 2 of the days (last day I had to leave really early). It was mainly a selection of what I presume is a Turkish breakfast, though there were plenty of healthy fruit and grain options. Weirdly enough, they served onion rings for breakfast. I didn't think they tasted very good - they really taste like Burger King onion rings which I am not a fan of. The bread was fantastic (like other bread I have eaten in Turkey and most of Europe - far better than American bread). There was also a good selection of juices.
Other amenities which I didn't use (but I looked at and took pictures of) include a terrace, a swimming pool, an exercise room, a sauna, and a steam room.
The location was just average. The hotel is hard to get to so you'll probably be taking a lot of taxis. On my arrival from Antalya airport, I tried the 40 minute public transit option. Taking the tram to Burhanettin Onat was easy but then it was a long walk down Burhanettin Onat Cd where a lot of the sidewalk was uneven and rough making it challenging rolling along wheeled luggage. I would not recommend it! I opted for a taxi on my return to the airport.
Its a short 15 minute walk to the Ataturk Museum or Hadrian's Gate. But if you want to go to Antalya Museum (closed for renovations, 60 minute walk) or the Antalya Aquarium (90 minute walk) you'll probably want to use a taxi or a bus, though I walked most of the way to the aquarium.
I'm running into the word limit so I'll talk more about transportation options in the Walkability section.
I had a great time at the Residence Inn by Marriott Antalya and would definitely want to stay there again! It's luxurious and great value...

Smoking is a common issue in Turkey, but reputable hotel chains usually have standards in place. Moreover, there are already smoking laws in Turkey, which this hotel does not follow.
At this hotel, the managers don’t care that the smoking area is right next to the breakfast area. In fact, the staff themselves smoke there. Initially, the smoking area was behind a closed glass sliding door, and you couldn’t access it through the dining area — which was the right setup. The dining area is divided into two parts: an outdoor section (covered but with sliding windows and doors) and an indoor section (where the food buffet is located). At first,we had breakfast in both areas. The whole space is about 40 square meters and right next to the reception.
One morning, someone just grabbed an ashtray from an employee and started smoking right at the table in the outdoor section of the dining area! When I asked why someone was smoking where it’s not allowed, the manager replied that smoking is only prohibited until 11 AM. Strange, but okay — at least no smoking during breakfast hours! But this happened around 9:50 AM, and the stench was awful, and they had no intention of removing the ashtray. So, I got no answer — just annoyed looks like I was the problem.
A few days later, they opened all the doors — to the smoking area and the automatic sliding door to the inner dining hall where the food is — and the smell of tobacco spread across the entire breakfast area!
This morning 18.04.2025, we came to breakfast and were just shocked that we couldn’t even have breakfast because of the tobacco smell ! We grabbed a couple of plates of food, even skipped tea, and went to our room. The manager immediately approached us with passive aggression, saying we had to eat in the dining hall! He should have provided us with a lunch box and apologized for the inconvenience, since guests were unable to eat breakfast in the designated area due to the hotel’s fault and had to go eat in their room!
This manager tries to speak Russian but only knows a few words. He speaks in a disrespectful manner and uses informal “you” (“ты”) — but in Russian, there are two forms of address. When I responded in English, he still kept replying in awkward Russian — and it sounded like a threat, or he was literally speaking in a threatening tone! Don’t try to speak Russian if all you know are phrases like “Hi” and “I know YOU.” That kind of overly casual tone is completely unacceptable between a guest and a hotel employee! Worse, as we walked away, we even heard russian “Извинись” = “You owe me an apology” What?! Should WE apologize?? Does this man even realize where he works and what he says??
Honestly, we’re shocked by this man. We feel like we’re in a marketplace and refused to buy his Turkish delight.
The senior managers smoke and look after their own interests first. No one cares about the law or the health of others here.
Since this incident forced me to write a review, I’ll also mention that this hotel shows no loyalty to Marriott Bonvoy members. I won’t retell the correspondence, but from it we understood one thing: the senior manager sets his own rules and order here, which do not match Marriott’s standard practices.
Luckily, the hotel is still new, and the rooms don’t smell like cigarettes yet — that’s the only reason we stayed here. Unfortunately, the selection of chain hotels in Antalya is...
Read moreA Warning About This Hotel: A Great Building Ruined by Appalling Service
To anyone considering staying at this hotel, I am an Elite Gold member across all major hotel chains and a seasoned world traveler. This review is not for sympathy; it's to educate new visitors who may have saved up for a valuable holiday and do not deserve to have their trip ruined by poor service. For me, life goes on and there is always another hotel, but this experience should not happen to anyone.
The Unacceptable Check-In Experience
I arrived on September 8th with my family for a time-sensitive medical trip. My visit was a humiliating and disrespectful ordeal, all because of one front desk agent named Vesile. She refused my simple request to leave our luggage in our room and made us wait in the lobby for over 1.5 hours, despite our room being available.
When I raised my concerns, Vesile proceeded to deliberately waste our time with a series of lies. First, she claimed our room was "being cleaned." After over an hour of waiting, I asked for an update and she changed her story, stating it was now "being inspected." When I demanded to see the room myself to verify this, she initially lied and said it was not allowed. After I insisted, she reluctantly gave me the key. Just as I suspected, the room was perfectly clean and unoccupied. Vesile's claims were completely false. Her hostile behavior was a clear power trip.
I even attempted to reason with her in a respectful manner, but she responded with hostility and simply walked away. The manager who came to address the situation was just as unhelpful, lying and then pretending he couldn't speak English to avoid my questions.
Ongoing Lack of Service
This hotel's issues are not limited to one person. As a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member, I tried to extend my stay but was given no help. The front desk staff simply told me to email an off-site department that never responded. It's shocking that a hotel cannot assist with a basic request like a stay extension, especially when the property is half-empty. The only positive part of this experience was a kind waitress in the restaurant who offered us tea and was a welcome contrast to the front desk.
Final Recommendation
While the building is lovely and the night staff is great, I cannot recommend this hotel. The unprofessionalism I experienced from Vesile and the lack of accountability from management are unacceptable. Be prepared for a terrible check-in if she is working. For travelers who need a smooth, reliable experience, this is not the...
