Rokka Pizza Falafel is a delightful fusion spot that combines traditional Arabic, Middle Eastern, and Turkish cuisine. Located in the heart of Antalya, this restaurant offers a unique blend of flavors that will transport you back to childhood memories.
Falafel Excellence
The falafels at Rokka are nothing short of exceptional. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned to perfection, they're probably the best you can find outside the Levant region. As someone who appreciates authentic street food, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality here. Yes, it's a tad pricier than your typical street falafel, but trust me, it's worth every lira.
Baba Ghanoush and More
While the baba ghanoush might not have blown me away, it still exceeded the average standard. Creamy, smoky, and served with pita bread, it's a decent addition to your meal. But let's get to the real star: their homemade lemonade. Picture yourself sipping it on a scorching summer day it's pure bliss. Tangy, refreshing, and absolutely delightful.
A Note on Price
Now, about the price it's on the steeper side, especially if you're used to grabbing falafel from street vendors. But consider it an investment in a culinary experience that transcends the ordinary. Plus, for our friends from the North, this is a must-try. The flavors here will surprise and satisfy even the most...
Read moreAt the outset, let me appreciate that Roka Pizza Falafel in Antalya is a great place for vegetarians. The hummus and falafel was on point. However, unfortunately since the place was so full, the owner made us sit in his other restaurant call Roka Fussion. This is where things went wrong.
We were made to sit at another restaurant which was a 5 minute walk. But the waiter who greeted us was arrogant and the attitude was bad.
As Indian we typically share food. We ordered around 7 dishes between 8 of us. We asked the waiter to provide us plates. But he told us no with a bad attitude, he mentioned he can only serve us two plates. Are you telling me in a restaurant which is full empty, you cant serve us 6 more plates?
We had told the waiter that our table is entirely vegetarian. We ordered two chilli cheese fries. He gave us these fries with beef in it. I mean seriously? Beef? How is that veg? The ironic part is when we told him to take it away, he said he will still charge for it because he believed we were ok with non veg in fries - i mean what is this behaviour?
We told him if he could decrease the temperature- he abruptly said no. I mean if you are running a restaurant atleast be a good host.
Food at Rokka fusion is bad. The cheese smelled weird. Not a place to e...
Read moreExcellent restaurant which we earmarked to visit when we made a trip to Kaleiçi, however, as my mum is disabled and unable to walk, especially up high steps, with 12 people and limited space in the restaurant downstairs, and my wife being gluten free and not seeing which options were gluten free on the menu, we decided that this restaurant may not be suitable. However, before making that decision I thought let me pop in and ask. I am so glad we did! The staff were super helpful, could not do enough to help accommodate us and moved all the downstairs tables around to seat us, had many gluten free options and wanted to help my mum up the steps even if it meant carrying her whilst in the wheelchair.
The food was really good, excellent value and service was second to none! We are so pleased that after reading these reviews we went ahead and visited.
The restaurant have an upstairs for seating which is good.
There are a couple of points for improvement though... Please have ice cubes as some drinks were warm, the fan downstairs was lovely, but when I went upstairs to the toilets, it was a sauna. It would be good to have...
