Second time we go to a traditional bath in Turkey and had the same problem again. Me and my boyfriend chose the same "full" package but had very different experiences. Right before the start, the receptionist at the women's bath wanted me to buy a "pouch" for an extra 200 liras, otherwise I'd have to do all the treatments by myself (peeling, soap foam, etc). But that was not what it said in the flyer and I insisted I didn't want to pay more as I had already chosen the most expensive package. When it was my turn to get the peeling I got a very "superficial" one, while a Turkish lady after me got a very through peeling for a couple of minutes. The lady that took care of me only applied the clay and foam, while my boyfriend had a massage at every application (clay, soap foam), including stretching, deep tissue massage and scalp and face massage. I got none of these and was really disappointed with the difference between my treatment and the one offered to my boyfriend. So, if you're a man, go for it. If you're a woman stick to the turkish bath and maybe one extra like the peeling, definitely not worthy to pay for the...
Read moreI chose the 4th package, which included scrubbing, bubble massage, and coffee exfoliation massage. The owner clearly told me the entire treatment would take about one hour.
But the actual experience? It lasted less than 10 minutes. Yes, less than 10 minutes in total.
There were no other guests at the time, so the owner said I could take some photos for memory. Thanks to those photos, I have exact timestamps showing the first and last photo were only a few minutes apart. The whole process was rushed and ended shockingly fast.
When I confronted the owner, he told me: “You can stay in the room and rinse yourself for an hour if you want.”
Excuse me? Massage for 10 minutes, and then just rinse myself for 50 minutes to make it one hour? If this isn’t a scam, then what is?
This was by far my worst experience in Turkey, and I’m extremely disappointed. I strongly advise anyone considering this place to ask very clearly about what exactly is included and how long the treatment really lasts. Don’t get...
Read moreThe woman that worked on me was lovely and did a good job and my skin feels so incredible. However the whole thing lasted about 70 min, I would have expected at least 2hrs from other Hamam I have been too. I also asked for the 400 lira pkg and the man tried to charge me 450 even though I had the brochure with me. Finally, he would only take cash. I have bought everything in Antalya with credit card as I’ve had so much trouble with the cash machines. Even 20 lira items. I feel like the man that runs it is a scammer and I’m not sure how he is treating his staff but I had the vibe that they didn’t like him. I also think they can speak a lot more English than they let on. Not one word of English was spoken during the entire time until payment was required and suddenly they could communicate a lot better. I would not recommend this place. Especially as a single woman and I’ve travelled extensively and in all levels of luxury. I am rarely intimidated but I was here. Ask your hotel or a local for a...
