Elements Hostels — Hotel in Kyiv

Right now, this hostel is terrible. It appears most of these good reviews were written several months ago when there was a different set of staff working here.

First, the real issue with this hostel is that most of the staff currently working there are just very unfriendly, and the vibe given off by them creates a very hostile atmosphere. I have never been to a hostel with such rude staff.

Here are a few examples -After staying the hostel for almost two weeks, I was waiting for my train and one of the staff told me "our hostel is not a waiting place, after you pay you must leave"

-Another time I witnessed another hostel guest asking for the code to the front door, and he stated that he never received it. The staff responded with "you never asked" in quite a sarcastic way.

-A few nights I was kept awake by staff and their friends (that don't stay in the hostel) drinking and talking very loudly in the common room, some of them kept coming into the dorm room for some reason and talking quite loudly.

-In general they don't want to help you or converse with guests at all, the exact opposite of how a hostel should be run.

And last, the hostel is never clean, the bathrooms and showers are just plain gross most of the time. In the two weeks I stayed here they were cleaned just 3 times.

I would like to give props to the administrator. He is genuine cool guy that is very helpful. But the rest of the staff working at the place are just downright unacceptable in a service oriented industry...

Was here in November 2016 for around a week. ||Nice little hostel with good facilities and cool staff that are up for a chat and a beer - they are also knowledgable and helpful about what to see and do in Kiev. Very chilled out living area where it's easy enough to meet people.||Only have two small gripes: ||- It was too hot which made it difficult to sleep but as it was winter time I think this was perhaps unavoidable. ||- Sometimes there was a lot of noise till the early hours coming from the living area which also made it difficult to sleep. My room was closest to it though which contributed and it could have been avoided entirely had I remembered ear plugs as I usually do. Elements Hostel is for me the #1 place to stay on a low budget with awesome company in Kiev. The staff is always around - friendly and ready to help with whatsoever is needed. It's a place to meet interesting locals and travelers and spend a good time in a nice atmosphere. They have everything one could need: a kitchen incl. equipment, a dining room, laundry service, a sufficient amount of clean showers & toilets and a common room to play videogames, watch movies, make music or just simply hang out. The location is quite central and close to two metro stations from which you can reach everything easily. Nearby are several shopping possibilities, bars, pubs and restaurants.
