I booked this hostel in the morning before boarding a train. Their site asked me for a phone number to get in touch. Unfortunately I did not have a working number and it was impossible for me to send them a email ( please take note and ad that to yiour site !) I was able to put on my estimated arrival time which was around 10.30 pm. Once I got to the address, I was looking at a steel door with no sign or no information about the hostel or how to get in. After 10 minutes and asking a few people, we noticed a banner on the third floor on the other side of the building, luckily for me another 10 minutes before someone entered that balcony and I could ask them to let me in. That seriously needs to be addressed !!||||The manager was extremely friendly and informative, whispering all the time. After settling in, I asked him if there was a store nearby to buy a beer. He pointed me to a pub as there is no alcohol allowed in the hostel. Is that a hostel?? haha, I can respect that but still find it a little strange.||At 10 pm, it is quite time, thus the whisper when I arrived. ||The facility has a full size kitchen, a living room and I was in a 12 bed dorm, I think. No a/c/ and it got a little hot in the room. Location is easy to find and very well located. Close enough to talk everywhere in town that is worth seeing.||It's a nice hostel with friendly manager in a great location. Just do not expect to party or even have a beer ( which I like my beer) and you will enjoy your stay.||||If this review is helpful to you, then please give it...
Read moreThis is the best hostel I've ever been to! I've been there for one day a year before, but figured that was not enough to write a review, but I enjoyed that day so much, that booked the same hostel this year.||The best thing about the hostel is it's atmosphere - the "staff" is the owner and his wife, they live, take showers, prepare their own food there, so everything is taken care of, clean and cozy. They help you with anything you need - money exchange, directions, choosing places to eat or visit, ordering a cab, etc. And when you leave, it feels sad, like you leave your dear friends.||On the practical side - the place is starting to need renovation, but as the owners clean everything each morning, everything is still desent. The location is the best you can find in Kiev, no kidding!||PS. Another little thing that made us happy - they have a filter in the kitchen for tap water. That's amazing, as the tap water in Kiev tastes bad and ruins the tea and coffee flavour if not filtered. See, the owners truly take care of...
Read moreI did not book this hostel. I didn't want to stay here and After staying here, I don't recommend it at all.||The Borscht Hostel deleted my reservation, which is why I gave them a poor review. They did get me a reservation here, which was nice of them. Provided your reservation isn't deleted, I'd still recommend Borscht Hostel over this one.||My biggest complaint for this hostel is that it has one bathroom. It has over 20 people in it and a single bathroom. That is horribly insufficient. This alone is a reason not to stay at this hostel. ||Also, there is a strange quiet hour policy at this hostel. It seems to be quiet hours at all hours. It is almost always silent. It's a little creepy.||One more thing. The largest room at Magic Bus is 12 people with no AC, which makes the room get HOT! Borscht is 10 people with AC.||Also, Borscht is cheaper!!!||I didn't want to stay here and I don't recommend it. I picked Borscht Hostel for a reason and you should too (just hope your reservation...
