we stayed in this hotel for 5 nights during our trip to abu dhabi and overall it was a very satisfactory experience.
Location. the hotel is located in downtown abu dhabi. the location is central and has its pluses and minuses, the plus is that lot of shopping and indian restaurants are nearby ( walkable distance) and its quite convenient to get taxis which stop just outside the hotel. the minus is that it is some distance from the beach and it is a not so glamourous area of abu dhabi. But overall we were quite happy with the location.
Check in and check out - Though we checked in quite late at night, the service was quite prompt. Though we didnt get the double rooms we booked for , (they arranged for twin rooms for the night) overall the experience was good. the luggage was smoothly delivered to our room by the concierge staff who are one of the greatest assets of the hotel. from check in to check out to any help in between, all the different concierge staff were so helpful and welcoming. they helped us store the luggage when we checked out and were so adjusting of all our different requirements
Rooms - The rooms are spacious, welcoming and with so comfortable large beds. each room had a window for natural night and ac was also so powerful.
Toilets - This is a mixed bag. The washbaisin and wc was good, but same cannot be said about the showers. we had 3 rooms and each room had a different shower mechanism. especially in our room it was quite difficult to even on the shower as the tap was too tricky. the other room had a tub which could not be used and the shower was in the tub itself. secondly the shower speed /nozzle could not be modified. this is a definite area of improvement for the hotel.
Housekeeping. the rooms were cleaned daily perfectly and the housekeeper mr shahzaib was prompt and friendly. even when there was small incident of leakage in the tap they responded promptly and fixed it very fast
Breakfast - we had booked the complimentary breakfast and the spread was quite elaborate, with fresh breads, a live egg counter, indian , chinese , continental options. the indian options were a mixed bag and not so tasty ( particularly the vermicilli and poha which was served daily). this was surprising as the chefs seemed to be of indian origin . However overall the breakfast was manageable and filled us up for the day. The service of the wait staff particularly shankar was very appreciable as they were prompt in delivering whatver we asked for.
Others - there is a small pool on top which we didnt use but looked attractive.

Read moreComplaint Regarding Reception Staff – Joseph (Evening Shift, 7:30 PM)i don’t know if that is his real name because i think he is egyptian Dear [Hotel Management], I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the service I received from one of your evening reception staff, who introduced himself as Joseph, during my visit on [date]. I have stayed in many high-end hotels in Abu Dhabi, but I have never experienced customer service as poor as what I encountered with him. I arrived at the reception to inform him that I was checking in with my two friends in room 1210. I mentioned their names politely and smiled while explaining that they would not be able to answer the call because they were in the pool. I even tried contacting them on my phone to confirm, but the situation remained the same. When I asked if he could contact someone in the pool to let them know I was at the reception, his response was extremely rude and unprofessional. He said he could not call anyone in the pool and suggested I wait outside the hotel until my friends answered their phones. I was shocked and deeply disappointed by this response. While waiting, I felt humiliated, especially when a female staff member called my name, seemingly aware of my arrival, yet Joseph ignored this. His behavior was disrespectful and demeaning in front of other guests. It is clear that there was a lack of proper communication and internal endorsement among the staff, which negatively impacted the customer experience. I politely requested assistance, yet his response was unnecessarily rude. No customer should be treated in this manner, and I believe his attitude is unacceptable for a front-line staff member. I strongly urge management to provide proper training to your staff on professional conduct and excellent customer service, especially when handling inquiries from guests. Read moreMe and my family had our whole vacation stay here at Copthorne Downtown Hotel (Abu Dhabi) for the span of 45 days… and all we can say is that this hotel deserves more than 5 stars! All of their staffs and crew were really nice and accommodating to all of our needs. They were very attentive to their room services like room cleaning, re-supply of daily needs such as bottled water, coffee, tea, and tissue paper, and always made sure that we were comfortable enough all throughout our stay. The room service staffs were really nice during cleaning of our room and we loved how we shared some small talks about the different tourist attractions, food places, and themed-parks around Abu Dhabi.
Special mention as well to Brother Allan (the Filipino guy in the picture) and to Miss Filipina girl in the front desk (forgot her name) for bringing such a wonderful and indeed a customer-oriented service to us from day 1 up until we checked out. Brother Allan was really a nice guy that he really took care of us, not as just his guests, but as one of his family 😊. He always made sure to greet us and asked how was our day and he even mentioned a lot of different places here at Abu Dhabi to try to go to. We didn’t have a hard time anymore to think on what to eat and where to go because of the tasty food and nice places ideas he mentioned. Also, kudos to Miss Filipina girl for always taking care our inquiries before we finalized to stay with Copthorne. She was very patient and detailed to our questions about their hotel.
