A luxury couples and family-friendly hotel, with the best service in Dubai. My husband and I stayed here as part of our honeymoon in 2008 and have since stayed at several other hotels in Dubai - including Jumeriah Beach and on the palm. Without doubt, this hotel has the most attentive staff, extraordinary service and the best views. The beach and pool facilities are superb, there is a range of restaurants and cuisine to choose from, the breakfast buffet is second to none and did I mention the views? They really are stunning. On day 1, the beach staff saw my 11-yr-old struggling with sand on his sun lounger (yup, on the beach!) - he is autistic and was struggling to adjust after a night flight and early landing. Immediately the staff came and diffused a very imminent meltdown by giving him their full attentiom for a few minutes, making him comfortablr and getting him extra towels to surrounf his sun lounger so he could wipe his feet. Part of me was dying of embarrasment at this, part of me thought - if only everyone just gave a few more minutes and a little bit more attention. Imagine how much nicer that would be for those travelling with children and/or additional needs! They were wonderful. You can take an abra (little boat) or get a buggy to other parts of the resort (free of charge and very regular) and when you arrive they give you the number of the in-house WhatsApp butler. So fancy! Message him any time day or night with your requests - any issues, check-out enquiries, dinner reservations, etc. Wild Wadi water park is 5 minutes buggy ride/10 minute walk away, there's a souk within the complex - so you get a flavour of authentic local life but in a really safe environment - no one pressuring you to buy, there are multiple malls just a short taxi journey away, you have a first-class on-site gym with sauna and steam room in the changing rooms (also handy if you have a night flight and need somewhere to change before you leave for the airport), you can get a taxi out front immediately or just a couple of minutes wait, facilities are great, in-room toiletries and little details are all exceptional. It's saying something when the beach loos are nicer than your bathroom at home! I kid you not. Book your restaurants in advance if you're going in school hols. The staff are what set this hotel apart from the rest. We loved it and coming home to reality...
