Arboretum — Restaurant in Dubai

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding the extremely unprofessional behavior we experienced during our recent visit to your buffet restaurant.

We arrived at 10:00 AM as a group of five, including a 68-year-old senior and a mother with her child. While I was trying to find suitable seating for them, I eventually located an available table and seated my family. Suddenly, a member of your staff named Gupta approached us in an aggressive and unprofessional manner, shouting that the table was reserved for other guests. To our surprise, there was absolutely no signage or indication that the table was reserved.

We were guests as well, and deserved to be treated with the same respect as any other customer. Gupta’s tone and approach were completely unacceptable. When I raised the issue with the manager on duty, William, I expected a more professional response. Instead, he defended the staff’s behavior by saying the table was indeed reserved. If that was the case, why wasn’t it marked? And more importantly, why were we treated as if we were less than welcome?

It’s difficult not to feel that this treatment may have been influenced by the fact that we are locals or Arabs. The lack of basic courtesy and assistance, especially when I was clearly trying to seat an elderly woman, was shocking. William even mentioned that he was behind us—but made no effort to step in or assist with a chair. Is this the standard of hospitality and customer service you uphold?

This was truly the worst experience we’ve had, and I hope no other guests are made to feel as unwelcome as we were. I expect a formal apology and clarification on how you intend to ensure respectful and equal treatment for all your guests...

Exceptional Dining Experience at the Arboretum Restaurant

Our experience at the Arboretum Restaurant was nothing short of outstanding. The service was impeccable from start to finish, and what truly set it apart was the personal touch from every member of the team—we genuinely felt treated as individuals.

From the moment we were greeted by Timothy at reception, his warm and welcoming smile set the tone for each visit. His presence made a lasting impression, always ensuring we felt appreciated and at ease before we even stepped into the restaurant.

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible team of waiters—Chiko, Simo, Jerome, and Muhamed—whose hard work, professionalism, and friendliness never went unnoticed. Their attentiveness and positive energy added so much to our dining experience.

A special mention to Reseel, who showed such thoughtful attention each morning by instantly recognising us and having our toast ready without even asking—such a simple gesture, yet so appreciated.

In the evenings, Sanjay truly amazed us with his culinary talents. His pasta dishes were nothing short of spectacular—the best we’ve ever had! Watching him work was like watching a true artist at his craft.

Lastly, a big shout-out to Rohit and Ryan, the Assistant Outlet Managers, who were always visible, smiling, and working incredibly hard to ensure everything ran smoothly. Their leadership clearly contributes to the restaurant’s warm and seamless service.

We have stayed at the Jumeirah Hotel twice now and loved it. Incidentally, we really enjoyed the Arboretum Restaurant. The food was fantastic. There was a very large, varied buffet and the selection was huge. We had both breakfast and dinner there. I have celiac disease and therefore cannot eat gluten. Sous Chef Prashant Kumar and the rest of the staff took excellent care of me. I was always shown at the buffet what was gluten-free and what gluten-free food was also prepared. For breakfast I got e.g. pancakes, crêpe, French toast, donuts, croissants and much more prepared gluten-free. For dinner I got gluten-free pasta, pizza, meat, fish, cakes and much more. Everything was extremely tasty. Great attention was also paid to contamination. The personnel is very friendly and courteous. I highly recommend this restaurant and will...
