The Jumeirah Al Naseem is, without a doubt, the best hotel we have stayed at in Dubai – and we have been visiting for over 20 years, staying at many of the Madinat properties. From the moment we arrived, the experience felt personal and seamless. We were warmly greeted outside by Mark, who assisted us into the lobby and made us feel instantly welcome. Despite arriving several hours before check-in due to an early flight, we were kindly offered breakfast and access to the pool, and our room was made available shortly after. From Day 1, Ismail made our time at the adult pool truly exceptional. His warm smile, attentive service, and genuine care elevated our experience every single day. He constantly checked if we needed anything and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. He is a true asset to Dubai hospitality and to this hotel – a cheerful soul who left a lasting impression. Our experience only got better when we visited the Orchid Lounge. All the staff but particularly Jacqueline, Andrea, Krishna, and Sushmita were outstanding – always accommodating our requests, keeping our glasses full throughout happy hour, and greeting us with professionalism and genuine smiles. Another standout was Maref, who went around the guests several times a day offering complimentary fruit, smoothie shots, and ice lollies – even making sure our sunglasses were spotless. These small details made a big difference. Before our departure, Dani ensured a smooth check-out experience, helping us with our luggage and seeing us off with the same warmth we felt throughout our stay. The hotel itself is immaculate. The amenities are excellent, rooms are cleaned to perfection daily, and the evening turndown service is a thoughtful touch. Pool and public areas are maintained to the highest standard, and the gym is outstanding. Buggy service across the complex was always available with minimal waiting time, no matter the hour. We also loved the complimentary access to Wild Wadi, paddleboarding, and kayaking – a fantastic perk. The only area for improvement would be the half-board dining options. We found the selection within the Al Naseem restaurants limited, with several requiring a supplement charge. Expanding the range would make an already outstanding experience even better. Overall, our stay was nothing short of 10/10. To the entire Jumeirah Al Naseem team – thank you for making our visit so special. We can’t wait to return.

I'm not sure where to start to be honest as everything seemed to go wrong from the first moment to the last. I'll be honest, I think maybe it was just one of those trips where everything went wrong as it's a great brand and great hotel but we just had so many issues which ruined our stay.

Issue 1: On the first day we arrived at 8.30am. We were hoping our room would be ready but it was occupied. We were constantly chasing for our suite and were then told that the departing guest was given a late check out and that the room would take some time. Eventually at 4.30pm we were told the suite was ready and our bags eventually got delivered to the suite at 5pm. This in my opinion was unacceptable as the check in time for the suite was 3pm (at the latest!).

Issue 2: on the 2nd night we dined at Zheng he restaurant in mina a Salam. My daughter ordered the noodles and found a brown hair in her food. It definitely wasn't hers as she has thick black hair so we asked the waiter to change it. He started arguing with us saying that it can't be their hair and must be hers.

We were on half board and all wanted was a replacement but had to make a complaint to the manager to get this sorted.

Issue 3: We visited Al Nafoorah on night 4. Really nice atmosphere- my daughter ordered penne pasta in tomatoe sauce. She wanted some parmisan cheese for her pasta. When I asked the waiter he said he can get it but it will be chargeable. This i found ridiculous - it's like asking for ketchup with your chips in McDonald's and they ask to charge for this. I expect better from Jumeirah.

Issue 4: Swimming pools: the lifeguards have been told not to allow kids even in the shallow end without an adult inside. I have 3 kids so didn't want to be in the pool constantly so found this quite annoying as they are better swimmers than me and are like fish in water. Separately they wouldn't allow us to play catch with a soft ball even when we were within a metre of each other. I understand guests throwing balls from one side of the pool to another but this was literally with a 5 year old within a metre from me - common sense needs to be applied here. It was very hard to relax as it felt like we were treated like children in a school! This is not the same in other hotels in Dubai.

Issue 5: Housekeeping: they would throw our toothbrushes away daily. When I asked them not to they said they will send more. I asked them to replenish in the morning as the kids were asleep and we set the do not disturb on in the room. Despite the do not disturb on they knocked on the door numerous times until we opened. This woke the kids up as it was 11pm. If the do not disturb is on they shouldn't enter the room - this is basic stuff.

At the end of the stay when we returned to the room I also found one lens missing from my sunglasses. I don't want to get them into trouble as was worried they would lose their job but they need to take care of belongings for guests. I'm guessing they dropped my sunglasses by mistake - really they should have let me know what had happened here and been honest. Just had to get new lenses put in which cost me £80 which is annoying!

Issue 6: luggage: we left our luggage in the room for it to be transported to the taxi for our transfer to our next hotel for our stay. When we arrived at the anantara 1 bag was missing. Anantara checked the CCTV and all the bags from the taxi were unloaded so the bag must have been lost in transit from our hotel room to the taxi. Extra care needs to be taken here.

Overall just so many issues and this is just a snippet of them - sometimes when 1 thing goes wrong everything goes wrong. Management offered a resort credit by way of apology. I didn't feel this was sufficient given the number of issues faced - they offered to do something for our next trip but when later asked this was just bypassed and they didn't follow through on this promise which is very disappointing.

Hopefully it will be better next time if we do...

Exceptionally overpriced and overcrowded - an upmarket charter resort.

We visited as a couple in February 2024, on our babymoon looking forward to a relaxing stay experiencing the finest 5-star hospitality from the Jumeirah group.

Sadly, we experienced the complete opposite.

If you are a couple - this is not a couples resort - it is an overcrowded family resort where they pack you in - do not consider if you are looking for a relaxing holiday.

Context: before arriving, we stayed nearby at The One & Only The Palm where we paid less and it included breakfast. The difference between that experience and this one was night and day. The Kerzner group (One & Onlys owners) put Jumeirah to shame on every single metric. We went from having an experience we wanted to tell all our friends about to one that we wanted to leave having felt completely miss-sold.

Key points below:

Marketing material is misleading some snippets from their Instagram: 'Settle into idyllic bliss when you stay at our seaside oasis'. 'Unwind with a romantic staycay for two at our beachside oasis and experience comfort and opulence like no other'. Mostly accompanied with imagery of young couples. The marketing imagery is pictures of the pools with two sun loungers spaced generously apart. The reality: banks of 4 sun loungers right on top of each other crammed in with little personal space. The marketing copy is misleading. You have to scroll back to August 2023 (75 instagram posts previously) to find any mention or images of families/kids. Yet the resort was 95% families. It is fine to be focused on families, but don’t miss sell it so couples like us have our one special holiday of the year ruined.

Al Naseem is not exclusive - it allows other hotel guests in Al Naseem sits at a considerably higher price point than the other Jumeirah hotels in the complex. However, aside from the bedrooms - we cannot see any benefit to paying considerably more. Other hotel guests were allowed to use Al Naseems sunbeds, their breakfast, their bars and their restaurants. There was seemingly no benefit to having paid for the "premium" hotel. Zero exclusivity.

Pools & Beach There are 3 pools in Al Naseem. The two main pools were crowded beyond belief - rammed at every spot. Absolute bedlam, noisy kids running everywhere. Way too full and nowhere near a 5-star experience. -The adults pool is surrounded by hundreds of rooms with kids on the balconies making noise. The spec is markedly below par for the pricepoint: sunbeds are cheap looking and the towels were like ones you'd get at a 2/3 star hotel; thin coarse and fraying - looked old and tired. Whereas the One&Only had plush thick soft indulgent towels on spaced-out sunbeds with seclusion. Beach: beach is rammed with sunbeds - the spacing meant they felt on top of one and other. We tried to read our books and sink into our holiday, no chance with kids so close. Beach: Despite being thousands of dollars more per night, Al Naseems sunbeds are no nicer than any of the other hotels, and anyone can use them from all hotels.

Restaurants The breakfast queues at the main restaurant - The Palmery - were like a scene out of Benidorm. This was overflowing because they were allowing guests from the other hotels to access The Palmery - what precisely are you paying extra for then?

Other guests 70% of guests were of one particular nationality - a nation who's president invaded their neighbour in February 2022. Frequently rude to staff and obnoxious which made for uncomfortable viewing. The resort staff are lovely hardworking people and deserve to be treated with dignity. Resort taking advantage of this nations lack of travel options and inflating prices - short term opportunism, long term...
