Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Media City — Hotel in Dubai

Not sure why this hotel is so highly rated. It was below average.

The hotel was popular among families with young children. Most of the other guests were Eastern European.

The nearest metro station is Al Khail. It is approx. 13 min by foot. You can walk to Dubai Marina from the hotel. It will take you approx. 18 min.

The nearest tram station is Media City. It is approx. 7 min by foot and it stops near Dubai Marina and JBR/The Beach.

The hotel is old. It is not very clean. And, not very modern. Everything is a little dated and a bit worn.

The rooms are in need of a renovation. The carpet was worn. And, it felt greasy.

The bathroom is well used. Everything worked, but was a little broken.

For example, the shower head worked, but was a bit damaged, so the water sprayed absolutely everywhere. Additionally, the toilet roll holder was missing a screw, so every time you reached for the toilet paper, the holder fell on the floor.

There is a floor-to-ceiling window between the bathroom and bedroom. The window is located between the toilet and bed. So, if one person is doing a wee or poo and the other person is sitting on the bed, they can see each other!

The room was always very dark. Even with the curtains open and all the lights turned on, the room was very dark.

The room smelled musty. Not sure if it got worse when the airconditioning was turned on. There was definitely mold or mildew.

The bed was creaky. The mattress did not offer any support. The pillows and duvet were made of a cheap, synthetic material.

I had a pleasant stay with my family (two kids) at this hotel. We booked the HB+ package.

Location: The hotel is conveniently located close to a metro station and tram, making it easy to explore Dubai. With our Nol cards, we could get to every place in the city without any hassle.

Food: Breakfast was very good, though a bit repetitive, as the selection remained the same each day. However, we always found everything we needed— coffee, omelets, fruits, smoothies, waffles, and pancakes. For dinner, we highly recommend Icon Restaurant. The staff was kind and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious!

Room & Housekeeping: Our room was cleaned daily, and with each cleanup, a fresh bottle of water was provided. One of our children had their own bed, while the other(3yo) had to share with us, which was a bit inconvenient, but normal in Dubai.

Service: The reception staff was always helpful and accommodating, making our stay even more enjoyable.

Pool: There is a pool located at the top of one of the towers. It is quite deep at 1.80m, so keep that in mind if traveling with young children. Towels...
