We are a vegetarian family, this hotel is absolutely not for vegetarians. Poor choices, poor labelling, rude chefs when we did ask for vegetarian things (before someone comes back and says you should have asked). Complete lack of choice at the buffet in general which was also completely understaffed. I felt like an inconvenience constantly stood at food stations waiting for more food to be made / put out, whilst the rest of the food on my plate went cold. We did speak to management about the situation (four different managers and the head chef who came to us) but nothing changed until we spoke to a manager called Akash on our second to last evening who went out of his way to ensure we were looked after on our last night. He actually had numerous vegetarian dishes made for us and they were amazing, its just a shame it was our last night and it took so much effort to get to that point. The puddings were rubbish, the same bland date pudding or chocolate pudding every night.

We only used one of the restaurants due to the lack of vegetarian options in the rest, it was the pizzeria. Long story short the service was horrific, we were in there for hours (it was only half full), our children had eaten their main course and were given their ice cream before we got our main course because they had 'burnt our pizzas and needed to make more'. I gave up on the coffee we ordered because it took that long.

There was work going on around the pool - we were not aware this would be the case, and because of the work there was less space and it felt completely crammed. The lifeguards were miserable with no personality and double standards in relation to pool floats (some families were allowed them and some were not?!), we felt like we were under constant scrutiny rather than being kept safe in the water. Extremely slow service from staff around the pool if you got any service at all. In the end we had to get up and get our own waters (it was 50 degrees), literally going behind the towel/water counter to do so, even when it went really quiet mid week.

The fitness centre was incredibly small, no real floor space for modern workouts and hybrid training - not necessarily an issue but the pictures are misleading and I wouldn't have booked this hotel if I had known how small it was. The rowing machine was broken, the step was broken. It was a poor layout with treadmills facing walls inside of out of windows at the beautiful views - put the weights machines against the wall. The gym was very clean however with a member of staff constantly checking towels etc and the water machine dispensed ice cold still and sparkling water.

There were positives to the hotel. The check in staff were lovely. Our room was spacious and spotless, newly refurbished by the looks of it with a gorgeous design. The beds/pillows were comfortable and the Nespresso coffee machine in the room was fantastic. There was also a kettle, hairdryer, numerous plugs (including plugs with USB ports), plenty of towels and good shampoo/conditioner and body wash provided. I like to use the desk in hotels to sit and do my make up but the lighting was none existent so maybe take a light up mirror.

The kids club was huge with a great outdoor play area, football pitch, bike/scooter track and a large indoor play area with a really good soft play. Children must wear socks at kids club as shoes are not permitted indoors. You can buy socks at kids club for about £2/10dirham. Children can be signed in and left but parents must check on their children every two hours minimum. The kids club is used by both the Westin and the Meridien hotels.

The water park which was included for Westin guests was actually amazing. Our children are 9 and 6 and they absolutely loved it. We went to the Atlantis waterpark last year and they couldn't go on anything so this was perfect for their age/height. Great slides, nice staff.

It is in a good location, a 3 minute walk from the tram station which is the best way to explore Dubai in my opinion, its cheap, clean...

This Hotel is located next to the Sea with beach, next to Dubai Harbour and has view on the new Pier.

Several other Hotels are located in the neighborhood.

The front side of The Westin Hotel is located at one Main Road.

If you try now to chose a room with Balcony to the seaside then it might be a good idea. We have stayed here one week in March 2024. But the expected relaxation was not available.. I will explain it later.

The CHECK-IN at about 8:00 a.m. was done in a perfect unbeatable way from the young Lady named SAFA. As we do know at that time after a long distance flight trough the night you cannot expect to get a room.

International rules are telling that the room should be available at 3:00 p.m.

We have received our room with Balcony and Seaview at once and got in addition a voucher for a free Breakfast.

So we headed to our room on the 8th floor.

The view at the sea was perfect.

The room was quite simple designed and equipped.

To move the curtains was difficult because very often it stucked.

The room I would rate with 3 Stars. The bathroom was quite big. There was a separate Toilet, Shower and Bathtub. The amenities were not excisting except one very little bottle of Bodylotion.

Was it ment for two people and for one week??

At the wall next to the Bathtub were fixed 3 bottles with Showergel and Shampoo.

The toilet paper has 3 layers.

Then we went down to MINAS RESTAURANT.

The choice for Breakfast was big. Everybody will find enough choice.

We got guided to a table. The room of course has AC. For me everywhere in the Hotel it was too cold.

Then we have had our Breakfast in the Restaurant " MINAS".

The choice of Breakfast was good. The choice of fruits was limited. Other Hotels can do it better. The Service in general is different. Never they put tea spoons on the table. I have ordered a boiled egg and needed to use the big spoon for soups to eat with it. Also a cup without saucer was presented. A very good job was done by Lin!

Later of the day we wanted to return to the Restaurant of Minas but it turned out that the map with all listed Restaurants and other points of interest has not (!) shown the right opening hours.

Despite of closed windows in our room we now heard that several (!) RAMS and excavators have given a Sound concert 24 (!) hours per day for construction work at the Pier!

I was talking about these problems several times and got informed that the Hotel Manager has made a complaint at the Government and Police but nothing has changed.

Kamal from the Reception said that the Hotel cannot stop the work during the night.

The male cleaning staff several times has crumpled up my shirts like garbish.

Then due to heavy rain falls water came through the closed windows and made the carpet wet. None of the cleaning staff has cared about it. We got wet feet.

In the afternoon I have informed Fred from the Concierge to care about drying. On return at the evening it was not done and the second time I have made my complaint and again spoke with him.

The next morning I have called the reception and then staff brought a dryer for the carpet at 12:00 a.m.

In the meantime we have booked the offered Half Board. You have the choice for Lunch or Dinner in several different Restaurants.

Most of the time we have eaten in the Italian Restaurant named BUSSOLA.

What a pity that even here the heavy rain falls has had a big impact.

The entrance was flooded. There was no umbrella stand. In front of the big windows inside there was a flooding as well.

The female Concierge in the Hotel could not offer any umbrellas!

Inside the Hotel complex it is well designed.

So finally we have had mixed experiences. Several things can be done better. The Hotel should find a solution with the noise problems...

Disappointing Stay at The Weston Dubai Marina – Not a 5-Star Experience

I recently stayed at The Weston Dubai Marina for seven nights, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. Despite being advertised as a 5-star property, the reality was far from it.

First, the hotel shares its facilities with four other 3-star hotels, making the amenities overcrowded. Finding a sunbed was a daily challenge, as I had to reserve one each morning just to have a spot. This is something I’d expect from a budget resort, not a high-end establishment.

I booked a deluxe sea-view room at a cost of £2,000 for seven nights (room only). Instead, I was given a pool-view room. After requesting a change, I was made to wait three days, only to be offered another pool-view room. The uncertainty and delay meant I couldn’t unpack or settle in, adding unnecessary stress to my stay.

Around the pool, I noticed that staff were adding unauthorised drinks to the bill—including alcohol, which I don’t even consume. While I caught the mistake, I suspect that many guests, especially those drinking alcohol, may have been overcharged without realising it. When I confronted the staff, they dismissed it as a “mistake.” Guests should check their bills carefully.

Getting a taxi from the hotel was nearly impossible. The staff seemed to push limousines instead, clearly receiving commissions from drivers. I have never stayed at a 5-star hotel where getting a standard taxi was such a struggle.

To make matters worse, my wife slipped on the hotel’s wet stairs and injured her knee. It took staff ten minutes to respond, and when they finally did, their main concern seemed to be avoiding liability rather than assisting her. They promised to bring ice to our room, but it took over an hour to arrive.

Sleeping at this hotel was another nightmare. A nightclub at a neighbouring hotel blasted music until 3:30 AM every night, making it nearly impossible to get a good night’s rest. When I complained, the staff casually mentioned it was their “sister hotel’s nightclub,” as if that justified the noise. If I wanted this kind of experience, I would have gone to Ibiza, not a supposed luxury hotel.

Service at the front desk was also shockingly poor. In particular, Michael was extremely rude, arrogant, and condescending. Staff would conveniently “struggle to understand English” when dealing with complaints, but had no issue communicating perfectly when it came to settling bills.

Overall, this hotel has gone downhill. It’s not worth the premium prices, and the service is far from 5-star standards. I would not recommend it and certainly won’t...

We stayed at this hotel for three weeks. The worst vacation we've ever been on. This hotel definitely shouldn't have 5 stars. The service here is so lame, from the hotel staff to the housekeeping staff and the staff on the beach. Save your nerves and choose another hotel! A week later, as I began to complain about many things, the manager did not contact me. This speaks volumes! Food at breakfast score three. If you want fresh fruit, then only apples and pears you will get here. Watermelon and melon are served unripe here. In 23 days, I never ate fruit for breakfast. As for the rooms, some are old and some have been refurbished. So, while they're redecorating the rooms, you're sniffing the cheapest paint there is. They don't cover the rooms where the work is done, so all the smell goes inside the hotel. Service in restaurants is a separate song, as is the quality of food for such a price. On the beach and by the pool, you need to borrow sunbeds at 8 am on weekends, because they sell the entrance to people who do not live in the hotel and come early in the morning, and the hotel guests do not have enough space (we were offered to borrow sunbeds on the grass, because there were no places). Pool service is a real quest! To call the waiter is a real quest. You have to go to the bar and place your order. The child on the 4th day was poisoned by a milkshake by the pool, which indicates the quality of the products!!! the child had a birthday. in all hotels they will at least bring you balloons to your room, but not here. in the restaurant they didn’t even bring us a candle, it’s good that we took it with us so that the child would blow out the candle. but five minutes later they brought the cake to the next table!!! dirty and not cleaned up territory! Sun beds are old. Towels are old too. And don’t forget that you can not sleep until 3am because they have parties at the pool!! So you will be at the disco at your room!!! Nobody cares about that here!! The service staff is inexperienced, so they do not understand how to serve customers in a five-star hotel. open public beach, not a 5 star resort. but the money they ask for staying here is a 5 star hotel. I have never had so many comments about the hotel, although I am a very tolerant and understanding client. But there is a limit to everything.

An Outstanding Experience at The Westin Mina Seyahi We’ve just returned from a one-week stay at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina, and without doubt, it has been one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Originally booked on a half-board basis, we were offered a fantastic rate to upgrade to full board upon arrival – an offer we gladly accepted. From the moment we checked in, the service, hospitality, and attention to detail were exceptional. Our five-year-old son has a severe cow’s milk protein allergy, which often makes travel stressful. However, the level of care and allergy management at The Westin was truly outstanding. Mauro Navarro ensured that all relevant managers were informed prior to our arrival. During our stay, we dined at Mina’s Kitchen for all our meals, and we were incredibly impressed by the dedication of Snehasish, the Head Chef, and Second Chef Peter, who personally prepared safe meals for our son with full understanding of his allergy. Jinniel, the Service Manager, and Aakash provided attentive service at every sitting, always checking in to ensure our son was both safe and happy. When dairy-free desserts weren’t available in-house, they even sourced alternatives from neighbouring restaurants. Nayyar also kindly checked in on us, showing genuine care. The hotel room was spacious, spotless, and comfortable. WiFi was free and reliable throughout – even on the beach – and strong enough for streaming. The pool facilities were excellent, particularly for families, with slides that kept our children entertained for hours. The beach was clean, peaceful, and beautifully maintained, and the hotel's location right across from the tram station provided easy access to explore the city via the Dubai Metro. What truly sets The Westin Mina Seyahi apart is its staff. Every member of the team we encountered was warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about their roles. Their positivity created a relaxed and happy atmosphere that elevated the entire experience. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and are already looking forward to returning. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff who went above and beyond to make our stay so memorable.
