Let me start with who travelled, it was myself, husband and Sons aged 16 and 11 years old. 6th August - 19 August 2025.||We have been to Dubai on numerous occasions but never stayed in a hotel on a package deal, this was booked through Away Holidays in the UK. ||We chose a connecting room, which was perfect for us with two older children. They got a TV and bathroom and we got the same albeit the beds were different in each room see below.||We chose half board dine around, this gave us the choice of where we could eat within the Marriott Bonvoy hotels, however, this was not explained to us at check in so we only ate at the Westin and this hotel - more about that later.......||First things first, Emirates were as usual amazing to us, my eldest has ADHD and Autism and they were accommodating and supportive as they always are. Make sure you contact them before your flights and they will note this on the booking if you have special/additional needs.||Arrival at the hotel - we arrived at 10pm and were immediately given bottles of water by the concierge and our bags taken for delivery to room. The check in was efficient, however, later on in our holiday we found out that we had not been told everything and we had to make a complaint to the front desk. ||Basically we were not told that under the Half Board Dine Around you can eat at ANY Marriott Bonvoy hotel in DUBAI as long as it participated in the scheme, the front desk was supposed to give us this information but did not, so we only ate at the Pizzeria and Mina's Kitchen within the Westin Hotel. ||We were annoyed that they didn't give us this information but they also did not tell us that our 11 year old was booked as ALL INCLUSIVE as a special deal !!! This really annoyed us as we only found out on the 4th to last day and it was a waiter in Mina's Kitchen who asked my Son what he would like to order for his drink. They did not handle this complaint well either, they just dismissed us and didn't offer any compensation. So basically my 11 year old could have lunch everyday and also order whatever soft drinks he wanted but we were not informed of this at check in. So make sure you check these details with them when you get your key cards.||Rooms - the rooms we chose were connecting, one had a king size bed and the other room twin beds (one was a queen and the other a large single), bedding was all included. Rooms had large wardrobes and lots of drawers in the rooms, tea and coffee making facilities a small selection of teabags etc., a mini fridge (we asked for these to be emptied before we arrived) we use the mini fridges for our own drinks and snacks. Bathrooms had one sink (shame its not double sinks like other places we stay) and had a bath with shower in it (not a seperate shower), they provide shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, shower cap, sewing kit etc. A small table with two very uncomfortable chairs in the room and a balcony overlooking sea with table and chairs on.||Restaurants - Latest Recipe Buffet Le Meridien - this was for breakfast as you can only eat breakfast at your hotel, no dine around for breakfast. We were greeted by Kevin Mogaka, who made us feel very welcome and made the best Iced Chocolate drinks for the boys, he was attentive and always made sure our teapot was full - thanks Kevin you are a diamond, we wish you well for the future. The choice was very good, omlettes, eggs, continental, yoghurts, fruit, croissants, cereal the list is endless and all manner of juices, apple, watermelon, orange etc. They also did Latte, Cappucino, iced coffee, iced chocolate. We always went between 8-9am, 9-10am was super rammed and busy. There is a traffic light poster outside which tells you when it is busy.||Bussola Pizzeria The Westin - You have to book this one. This was by far the best restaurant if you love Pizza, our boys only really eat pizza, so we came nearly every night but it is lovely, the staff are excellent, if you go Half Board Dine Around you get a 3 course meal included but drinks are not even water is chargeable. ||Please note watch out for items which have stars next to them these items incur a charge, the steakhouse had a lot of stars next to items so we didn't go there. ||We did have one problem at the restaurant which was NOT the restaurants fault but worth mentioning. Your room needs credit on it so your hotel should take credit on arrival via credit card, this credit is used for beverages and food, however, Le Meridien check in did not take sufficient funds and we were left embarrassed at the restaurant with no credit on our room they didn't inform us of the low credit (we suggested in future a text to guest to say credit low on room) hopefully they will use this in future and the second issue, yes there were two, was we rang Le Meridien concierge to book a table which was for 8pm, they booked it for 7pm so when we arrived we were informed we missed our slot and there were no tables available inside (in the air con) until 9pm, we made a complaint to the hotel concierge as not the restaurants fault and they rebooked us for 8.40pm but no compensation given from hotel. At the restaurant the staff went out of their way to apologise by allowing us all free drinks all evening, which was very kind of them but the hotel should've dealt with it better (we suggested a text message to confirm time of booking for guest) .||Mina's Kitchen The Westin Buffet - we really liked this buffet, they did indian, chinese and roast/bbq every night, the salad bar was amazing, kids chunky chips were popular with adults as well as the kids !! and the puddings - wow !! Gets very busy between 7pm-8.30pm the queues were out of the door.||Bounty Beets Le Meridien - my kids would get smoothies from here and they seemed to enjoy them, I didn't so cannot comment.||Pools + Sunbeds - This was by far the most annoying part of our holiday. We have been to Dubai many times and never ever have we not got a sunbed, never ever have we been in a crowded pool with guests walking around with pints of beer in the pool. ||We were so disappointed with Le Meridien pool and beds. The sunbeds around the pool and on the grass were nearly all gone by 8am, surprisingly with no one sitting on them as it was around 45-48 degrees everyday. I however, love the heat and I lay in it so when we asked the staff about beds that we taken by guests and never used they said it was a real problem, yet nothing was ever done about it. ||Some mornings the guests putting out towels was as early as 6.30am, absolutely pathetic. So sunbeds are a real issue in July/August (Summer Holidays) around the Le Meridien. ||The pool at Le Meridien is small and over crowded and they allow people to walk about with pints of beer etc, we did not agree with this and felt it was more like a package hotel in Turkey or Magaluf, not a 5 star in Dubai. Again we have never had this in other establishments in Dubai. ||Please note the grass has Ant Nests all over it, a lot of guests including myself were stung on multiple occasions and it really is unpleasant, be aware !!! ||We chose to sit around the pool in the Westin hotel, no loud music, no overcrowding, lots of sunbeds available, I'm going to say it, nicer clientele. ||Our boys enjoyed the waterpark for about one day then they didn't go in there, it really is for children aged between 2-10 years, most of the time two of the big slides were closed due to having no life guard and the queues were massive. The wave pool was lovely just to sit in. It is good for younger children.||Please note on Friday and Saturday the hotels are all very busy as UAE residents come into the pools, waterpark, this makes these days too overcrowded in waterpark and pools so we would go out on these days.||Beach - This is private, sandy, clear water, has lots of sunbeds and a couple of cabana pods. It really was too hot on the beach and the sea was 38 degrees so not refreshing, however, we enjoyed the watersports available, paddleboarding was £30 for 30 minutes and our sons enjoyed it. The staff who run it were knowledgeable and patient showing the boys what they had to do.||The Bar at the W hotel - Now we didn't venture over to the W hotel as it is marketed as more of an Adults Only hotel. BUT WE HEARD THE BEACH BAR LOUD AND CLEAR UNTIL 1-2AM ON THE WEEKENDS !! We had asked for a room away from the noise as in other reviews people had mentioned the noise levels. Well they were not wrong, I am all for a good party when I'm with my friends, but when you have kids with you and they're tired and ratty from the heat and just want to sleep at midnight its another story. The bassline was so loud, we rang reception and they said there was nothing they could do. Many guests complained we found out but again the hotel does not act. I had earplugs in and white noise and could still hear the music, it was awful. Reminded us of being in Ayia Napa back in the day......||Outside of hotel - we made use of the Carrefour supermarket opposite the hotel, it is accessed by walking to end of drive then into the over the road tunnel (which is airconditioned). Food and drink was super cheap. Can of coke hotel £6.00, can of coke Carrefour 70 pence - it really is a no brainer to clear out the mini fridge and stock yourselves. Drinks on the balcony anyone !!.......||We paid £6700 for 13 nights half board dine around at Le Meridien booked with Away Holidays (UK). Airport transfers booked through Hoppa.com. All taxis around Dubai booked with Careem app. Silver Nol card for the Metro which you can top up. Trips booked with Dubai Dream Tours on Facebook (Leena Flanagan), excellent prices and all organised for you, highly recommend.||Would we come back to Le Meridien ? No as we were not happy with the package style of the hotel. We prefer exclusivity and peace on our holidays. We tried this hotel as we thought the waterpark would keep our boys amused and we would be treated to a 5 star experience. This was unfortunately in some parts not the case. There are so many hotels in Dubai that are competing for your custom so do your research, read reviews and get recommendations.||We want to personally thank Kevin Mogaka for his excellent service in the Latest Recipe we wish you well for the future Kevin, then Damaciano Fernandes at the Le Meridian pool who always had a big smile, our towels ready and never failed to remember all of our names, and lastly Subin who cleaned our rooms and made the most wonderful towel creations, you really have a talent Subin and made our boys laugh !! - thank you all.||* We haven't uploaded all of our photos yet but the gallery on the hotels website is...

Read moreWe stayed here towards the end of the summer and it was overall an enjoyable, relaxing and fun stay. Our stay was an all inclusive package which gave us access to restaurants at the Westin also but didn't include the W hotel. We were after a relaxing resort with a good aqua park and this did not disappoint from that perspective.
We stayed on the 4th floor and were given 2 rooms next to each other. The rooms were spacious and modern, with beds and bathrooms serviced regularly. The cleaners were very friendly and always made sure we had everything we needed. The balcony view was pleasant, overlooking the pools, the beach as well as parts of Jumeirah Beach. The air con was easy to use and we had no issues with that. What was annoying was the loud music blasting well into the night which wasn't ideal although the rooms are pretty soundproof, if you are a light sleeper it can disruptive. Also the TV service doesn't have Netflix, YouTube etc unless you wireless project your phone. Aside from that, all was good.
There are plenty of pools and a nice little splash pool for toddlers, which the kids really enjoyed and it was also covered with a parasol keeping it cool and shaded during the hot afternoon hours. The lifeguards are friendly and attentive but can come across stern when warning you but they're generally friendly and approachable. Also the Kids club had great activities daily, including arts and crafts and large soft play area where the kids played if they wanted a break from the pool. There's also a 3G football pitch, which is quite small but open throughout the evening and the kids enjoyed playing footy with other children during evening hours. We ate some our lunches at the Barrister restaurant, which is located poolside. The food was generally really good with good kid menu options also. Service was good and we were serviced food piping hot! You can also eat poolside and have it sent to a table outdoors which meant the kids could enjoy the pool. One thing to note is not all ice creams were included as part of the all inclusive and most ice cream stalls have to be paid for. Although the ones included were reasonable in tubs, the magnums and cornettos had to be paid for.
In terms of food options, We had continental breakfast daily at Le Meridien, which had a good selection. We'd have lunch at Bounty Beets which was also really good with a more sophisticated and gluten free menu. Their steak and Sea bass was really good and I'd highly suggest eating there. For Dinner we'd usually eat at The Westin, specifically in Mina's Kitchen as they had a wider selection of food and different themed food nights. We did find we were allocated specific seats which was generally away with less lighting and ambience and I believe this was done to prioritise the guests at the Westin. We also ate occasionally at Barrasol Pizza bar and the pizzas there were amazing! Also great service and lovely Italian gourmet desserts definitely worth a try!
I would say the stay overall was good and it has good access to transportation and amenities should you need to leave the resort. There is a 24/7 carrfoure across the street should you need anything as well. The staff at the front desks are very friendly and always go above and beyond and made sure we were looked after and everything was taken care of. The only issue we had was that the children became sick for a night and we were advised by the nurse it most likely was due to swimming pools as opposed to the food. Aside from that, I would really recommend this place if you're looking for a family friendly...
