We attended this restaurant mainly for the night time views. They were incredible. The view from the restaurant was amazing and possibly one of the best views in Dubai.
However the food and service does not make up for the amazing view
If you wish to attend just for the view then the restaurant is possibly one of the best location to attend
However I personally did not feel the food and service met the expectation of the Dorchester brand which is highly regarded especially for myself being from the U.K. and the park lane hotel which never fails beat expectations.
The service itself I felt was very slow. Throughout the night it felt to me that the staff did not care about serving us and we were overlooked to the other customers. We asked for blankets due to the cold weather which are provided to guests at the restaurant but we’re informed none were available. Yet when another customer attended a short while later they were provided a blanket. This was highly disappointing to see and cannot be justified from a 5 star hotel.
The food also did not meet my expectations, in which it did not taste great to myself an thought it would have been much better. This may have been due to all The amazing restaurants I was visiting in Dubai and this location just could not meet the same standard of food.
The lamb steam buns however were really nice and tasty so I would definitely recommend those.
The fish goujons did not taste great and to myself felt like cheap fish fingers. The quality of fish did not feel premium which was sad as I was really looking forward to them.
The chicken club and the burger was average.
The worst thing for myself on the menu was the fries. Although these came with most items they were really hard and felt stale. This was a real let down for myself.
As you do get a nice view and it is understandable that you may have to get not as nice food to get an amazing view. Saying that I did attend the cloud 22 which also boasts an incredible view. The food at that location was amazing and complemented the view.
The opinion and views listed in this review are of my sole opinion and not a reflection of the restaurant. I hope this does not persuade anyone not to attend the restaurant as the location and view...
Read moreAh, The Lana… the supposed jewel of the Dorchester Collection in Dubai, where you’re promised a five-star experience but end up mostly testing your patience – and your lower back.
Right from the start, the tone was set: seating so low it matched my expectations after waiting 45 minutes for our food. Sofas so sunken they seemed to have given up on life themselves, and not even a backrest to save your spine from total collapse.
As for the tables, they’re so tiny that after two plates, you’re basically playing Tetris trying to fit a water glass.
First impression at “aperitif” time? Served completely dry. No peanuts, no olives, not even a sad breadstick to accompany our drinks. A true desert – and not the majestic kind you come to admire in Dubai. Truly sad.
I wanted to introduce my wife to the elegance of the Dorchester Collection… Instead, I got a moment completely ruined.
Another highlight: the treasure hunt to get a decent table.
Reservation? Confirmed. Priority given to walk-ins who clearly knew the waitresses? Absolutely. A sheepish smile paired with an excuse straight out of a creative writing class? Perfect.
After two polite but firm requests, we finally managed to get a proper table. If waiting was an art, The Lana would be a museum.
Special mention to the manager, Antonio, who kindly tried to salvage the evening by offering us champagne – a gesture I politely declined. A good man, trapped in a poorly run ship.
On the bright side? The setting. Beautiful. When they actually let you enjoy it, of course.
In short: for a place that sells itself as “luxury,” it’s a big no.
Between the uncomfortable seating, endless waiting, amateur service, and total lack of small attentions, I strongly suggest saving your budget for a real Dubai-level restaurant.
It was supposed to be my last evening with my wife before her departure…
Instead of a magical memory, just a huge disappointment.
Thank...
Read moreHaving previously read the description of this place and its rules on the website, my best friend and I came from another city to celebrate her birthday in this establishment, since we are influencers, a beautiful view for our photos on social networks was important to us. At the entrance, the receptionist girls by a nice, intelligent way reminded us not to see other visitors in the background while taking photos. We brought a cake with us from another city only to hear from the manager in an unfriendly-conservative tone that, it turns out, in this place it is not allowed to take photographs anywhere except one small observation deck, even if there are no people, despite the words of the receptionist and despite to the fact that not a word is said about this on the website. My friend, the birthday girl, having explained the situation that we came from another city specifically for the sake of photographs, began to cry and beg to take pictures next to the table, without disturbing anyone, but the manager, who did not introduce herself and did not use nametag, so we did not know how to call her, was adamant , since she knows the photography policy of the establishment better than the feeling of compassion and humanity, and is more important than the pleasant impressions of visitors. In general, dear bloggers and potential guests of this establishment, you can’t count on a photo with a beautiful view if you are not ready to spend more than...
