My friend chose La Niña to celebrate my birthday yesterday and made a reservation for dinner at 8 pm. We were a party of 4. As people who appreciate gastronomy and fine dining, we expected much more from this restaurant and were excited to finally try it out. The ambience upon entry was great but was quickly ruined by the time we were walked to our table. A total disgrace. A table placed near the toilet, segregated and inconvenient. It felt as if we were punished and sent to “timeout corner” for naughty kids. I naturally asked the hostess if we could change tables and she had to inform her manager. Mind you, half the restaurant was empty at the time, we could easily be switched since not everyone has their name engraved on specific seats only. After a wait, she returned claiming there were no available seats - despite the obvious. I asked about a curved booth that could fit up to 6 people, and she laughingly told me that it was reserved for TWO guests. I helplessly went back to my seat but we were unbelievably uncomfortable especially when our other two friends arrived, one of which had her seat accidentally hit by others a couple of times due to our table’s terrible location. We really were looking forward to trying the food and celebrating my birthday but we were all on edge. We attempted to speak to the hostess again and to the manager as well. We were met with unreasonable justifications delivered with an uncaring tone. Meanwhile, many tables that could fit us remained unoccupied. It didn’t stop there, we were also constantly reminded that we only had two hours to wrap things up, as if anyone else would willingly want to dine at our allocated table. We then all decided that it was time to leave and not let the experience ruin the rest of the night we ironically chose to celebrate. We were just held back by the drinks we ordered that took forever to arrive. And as soon as that happened, we drank, paid and left. It is a shame to not cater to your guests and push them to walk out before giving your food a try. Maybe the food could’ve been great.. guess I’ll never know. Thankfully, we went elsewhere where my birthday was salvaged and the other place made up for our disappointing...
Read moreOh, let me regale you with a tale of a culinary escapade that had our taste buds doing the salsa and our hearts swaying to the rhythms of Latino vibes. We found ourselves in the heart of DIFC, where a new dining sensation had just burst onto the scene. They called it "La Niña Dubai," a fine dining paradise that was as vibrant as a fiesta and as exquisite as a work of art.
Our culinary adventure began with a delightful Ensalada Rusa that had us saying "¡Olé!" with every bite. But oh, dear friend, if you have a love affair with caviar, this dish is an absolute must-try. It was a symphony of flavors, a dance of textures, and a celebration of all things luxurious. It was as if the caviar fairy had waved her wand and sprinkled magical fish eggs on a bed of culinary perfection.
And then there was the coca de trufa, a creation so phenomenal that it made our taste buds do the cha-cha-cha. Imagine a crispy, heavenly base adorned with the glorious truffle, the diamond of the culinary world. Each bite was a revelation, a moment of pure bliss that left us craving more.
But let's not forget the star of the show: Cristina, the queen of service and purveyor of Latino vibes. She was like a ray of sunshine, radiating warmth and hospitality with every step. Her smile was contagious, her energy infectious, and her service was nothing short of exceptional. She was our culinary guide, leading us through the flavors and infusing our dining experience with that special Latino touch that made us want to dance on the tables (though we resisted, for the sake of decorum).
So, my dear friend, if you find yourself in search of a fiesta for your taste buds and an experience that will transport you to a realm of culinary enchantment, make your way to this top-notch new opening in DIFC. Let La Niña Dubai whisk you away on a Latin-infused adventure, where every dish is a celebration, every flavor a revelation, and where Cristina will be your culinary confidante. Prepare to have your senses seduced and your taste buds serenaded....
