Absolutely loved this place! From the outside it seems quite ordinary but there is a palpable air of charm and homeliness to the place which lends to the whole experience. Service was swift and efficient but very friendly and attentive. Menu itself was elegant and I particularly loved their Thirsty Goat Boxty with traditional Irish potato cake, chicken, mushrooms and wilted spinach served with a creamy white wine sauce. Quite filling and very reasonably priced! Husband got the Seafood Chowder which was really excellent albeit a bit seafood-minimal. Still worth it but had they really gone all out on this, it could have been one of their go-tos, for sure. I would love to come back one day and it's really the sort of place you want to keep returning to for your nights-out and the spaciousness of the restaurant is perfect for parties and gatherings. What a wonderful and well-fed GOAT!

Vibrant Vibe , Live Music that plays classic hits that you can jive to. Amazing Place and a lot of Indians to connect with while listening to live music. Met Amit and Yash who work there and loved talking with them. We were with friends from New York who loved the place too. We met John here who works in Shipyards and it was great connecting with people of diverse backgrounds. As the night grows the crowd grows in too šŸ„‚ We are vegans and ideally eat only after looking at the menu options , since we had already had an early dinner before we reached TG we took our time to drink slowly and explore options of cider , lagers and liquors. This is a wonderful place and we are sure coming back here in August as we come for an extended Ireland vacation . People in Ireland are extremely Helpful, hospitable and nice. Thank You.

Advance booking for dining is presently a must at the Thirsty Goat in Summer 2021. Delicious and reasonably priced food in a Covid safe environment. At peak periods, staff can be under pressure but try their best. We returned for a second visit two months later. I ordered the lamb cutlets again as they were so nice the first time. The dish which was served by the manager was quite a bit different with a lot less meat which was extremely disappointing. We raised the issue with our order taker who eventually resolved the matter. Be weary of portion sizes.

My advice to you is check your drinks BEFORE lifting from the bar. As the bar is extremely busy and cramped I passed drinks I had ordered back to a friend. Not a minute later whilst I was waiting on my change from paying, she handed them back to me saying they were only water! I'm not a person to cause a scene so I politely told the busy barman. He wasn't very helpful, so I again, politely requested the manager. He turned about without speaking and I waited a few minutes for the manager. His demeanor was very sharp and condescending, but to be fair, it was 3 deep or more at the bar, so he was more than likely under pressure. But his behaviour was totally unprofessional to the extent of being argumentative and down right rude. A few people commented this to me after the event, asking if I was okay. I just wanted the issue resolved without causing unwanted hassle. I have to admit the other staff members were lovely, perhaps Chris needs to take a leaf from their book on manners and customer care, for which he most certainly could avail from a refresher course As I was in tears by this man's actions I passed money to my friend to buy replacements. Unfortunately this marred a lovely evening out with friends and my...

I never actually wanted to write this review because I always loved this place. I come to Belfast a lot with friends and for work and it was my regular spot. Two years ago (July 2021) I took some friends with me and we went for a night out. The bouncer said the outside area was full and there was no point waiting and we should go somewhere else. 30 seconds later a group of three girls just like us walked up and he told them to wait one minute and they’d have a table. I guess those girls were prettier than us or something. I was pretty surprised because I didn’t think this place was that kind of bar where you can only get in if you’re young and attractive. (We were 27 by the way when this happened) one of my friends is a bigger girl though so she kept apologizing and saying it was her fault. The whole thing was just sad and shouldn’t have happened. I hate to say anything negative but it was just really shocking and I haven’t been back here since. I’m not even sure if that bouncer still works there but someone standing nearby who saw the whole thing said he did that all the time. Either way, I’ll never go back and give them my business...

Fantastic food and amazing atmosphere staff were very friendly phoned 5 mins before we turned up and were seated immediately. We got the chicken stack with colcannon mash and tobacco onions Irish stew and fish and chips between the three of us. With drinks the entire bill came to just under £70 but the food was absolutely phenomenal.

The chicken and mash was an absolute delight the chicken was moist and flavourful I normally heavily season my food however I didn’t need any on it was perfect. The Irish stew was so hearty and full of flavour comes with two slices of bread plenty of vegetables in it and gravy, what a treat!

The fish and chips was so crispy and flakey chips had a nice crunch and fluffy on the inside and the fish it’s self was crisp moist and Lilly white inside cooked to perfection.

Drinks where reasonably priced we also had a traditional Irish coffee which was an experience in and...
