Bullring rag market is such a perfect place for low-cost but quality shopping.
There is a variety of food ingredients at low-cost. Loads of Asian (think of hot chillies or fresh parsley) and African food items (plantainssss... Cocoyams, Scotch bonnet; aka ata rodo) that sell for way more in the grocery shops. Just make sure you look well to select the freshest produce when buying.
I happened to be at the market about when the market was to close today and they were literally selling produce for half price! I was like 😳 yes please... 4 bowls of bell peppers😂
Fabric ... There are many big fabric shops close to the rag market but nothing beats the pricing and variety you'll find at the rag market. Many of the stall owners are kind and might even give you a discount if you buy a substantial amount of fabric metres. Also, some of them do some jawdropping sales on really nice quality fabric sometimes... Yàaaaayyyy!💃 Yes please ☺️
And of course, cash machine! The rag market stalls are cash runs so you definitely want to use the cash machine except you carry cash around normally. Thankfully, there are a couple of free cash withdrawal machines for use.

Read moreAlways used to be 5* unfortunately. Shop front/Stall holders been edged out if markets. By council rent price hike for the last few years. Last year 1 shop front told me that rent went from £100 per wk to £400 per week. If marked areas where to be used. Just outside shop front and that included chip shop on corner who has invested in newer chairs, umbrellas, and rope stantions to mark out his area and keep customers safe and welcoming. Now it's only 1 line of small table and chairs. Instead of 4 gold all around the corner. Established stall holders who have been there for years had now gone. To the point where £1 bowl for fruit & veg, same make up stalls and mobile phone stalls, is all you have with lots of empty spaces. Only rag market, deterioration has slowed down a while. But you can see where it will end up. Bham council ought to be ashamed of what they have done to a once vibrant, shopping area, where coaches where lined up to park and drop off visitors. Now you can see it dying on its feet. Birmingham Rag, Indoor and Outdoor Markets...
Read moreWe visited Suleman Fragrances after seen this advertised on TikTok, as instructed look for the shop sign, shop number C17.
When we arrived with my daughter the wonderful young lad called Yousuf greeted us with a smile.
Overall service was friendly and he had a great variety of products, his products are new and not old that sit there for years.
Great bottle designs and good quality packaging, ideal for gifts also.
Prices were that good that we were happy to pay without having to think they were overpriced.
Overall I give this 10/10.
We wondered round the market and seen some wonderful shops and some shops could have done with tidy up or updating there presence.
Too many bag shops, jewellery and many other same products that didn’t make me confident but confused.
We only came for Fragrances and the only reason we were happy people.
Overall Suleman Fragrances and Yousuf was the best thing for us at the market.
Definitely recommend and will be...
