I recently had the pleasure of dining at Happy Lamb Hotpot in Birmingham, and I have to say, it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. If you're a fan of hotpot or looking to try it for the first time, this is the place to be!
Ambiance: The restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The decor is clean, modern, and comfortable, with a cozy vibe that makes it perfect for both casual meals and special gatherings. The staff were attentive and friendly, and we felt taken care of the moment we walked in. The service is efficient, yet never rushed, allowing us to enjoy our meal at our own pace.
Menu: The menu is diverse and caters to a variety of dietary preferences. We were particularly impressed by the variety of broths available. Whether you prefer something spicy or mild, they have a range of options to suit every taste. We opted for the classic lamb broth, which had a wonderful depth of flavor, and the spicy broth, which packed just the right amount of heat. The broth is really the heart of the hotpot experience, and Happy Lamb definitely delivers!
Ingredients: What really sets Happy Lamb apart is the quality and variety of ingredients they offer. From fresh, thinly-sliced meats (the lamb and beef were both exceptional) to an impressive array of vegetables, mushrooms, and tofu, everything was fresh and of high quality. I particularly loved the assortment of dipping sauces and seasonings provided to complement the meal. The highlight for me was the lamb, which was so tender and flavorful—it practically melted in your mouth.
The Hotpot Experience: The hotpot dining experience is interactive and fun! You get to cook your food at the table in the bubbling broth, which adds a nice communal element to the meal. It was a great way to bond with friends and family while enjoying delicious food. The staff were more than happy to guide us on how to cook everything and suggested some great pairings, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
Value for Money: Considering the quality and the generous portions, I’d say Happy Lamb Hotpot offers great value for money. The prices are reasonable, especially given the premium ingredients and the unique dining experience. It’s a fantastic option whether you're going for a casual dinner or a celebratory feast.
Final Thoughts: Overall, Happy Lamb Hotpot in Birmingham is an excellent place for anyone who enjoys hotpot or is looking for a new dining experience. The combination of friendly service, fresh ingredients, and a fun, interactive dining experience makes it a standout choice in the city. I’ll definitely be returning soon!
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a delicious and memorable meal!

Read moreI am writing to express my disappointment with the recent experience I had at your restaurant. The quality of service and food that I received during my last visit was substandard.
Firstly, I would like to address the issue of the portion size and the increased cost of the food. I noticed that the amount of food served was much less than what was provided a week ago, and the price has increased. Additionally, the menu has become less varied, leaving customers with fewer options to choose from. As a loyal customer, I was expecting better standards from your restaurant.
Secondly, I was surprised to hear that pets were not allowed inside the restaurant. I have been to several other restaurants in the UK, and this is the first time I have heard of such a policy. While I understand that some restaurants may have restrictions due to health and safety concerns, it is common for most places to allow pets to be in designated areas. I had already brought my pet with me and was told to put my pet in the car, which I found unacceptable. I would like to ask if you would leave your children alone in the car, as it poses a potential risk to their safety.
Furthermore, the restaurant owner claimed that pets are forbidden in the restaurants based on the law, which I found to be untrue. I searched all the UK laws and could not find any such regulation. If your restaurant has a no-pet policy, it should be clearly stated and displayed to customers. Instead, the owner warned me that it is the law for restaurants to refuse pets.
Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the level of service and treatment I received during my visit. As a result, I have left a low-rated review, which is my first since coming to the UK. I hope that your restaurant will take the necessary steps to improve its services and policies to ensure that customers have a positive experience.
If it is convenient, could the restaurant owner please tell me which law says that pets are not allowed in the restaurant? I would like a clear explanation as I have not found any such law in my own research and all I see is that pets are not allowed in the food storage and...
Read moreDidn't manage to have a meal so I can't comment on that but the initial service was terrible.
I went in today with a couple of friends and at the door there was a girl called Hebe who was extremely rude.
We greeted her and asked if there was a table for 3 and she glanced at us but mainly kept her face on -I suppose- a booking book, she didn't greet us and just asked if we had a reservation in chinese (one of us is asian looking but not chinese....) we looked confused but guessed her question and said no but she said something else in chinese in a whisper (while never looking at us for the whole time) so we told her that we don't speak chinese and she rolled her eyes, looked very annoyed and mumbled that we need a reservation or wait an hour. So we asked if we could reserve for tomorrow or any other time and she said we don't take reservations (??) and looked at us even more annoyed and was very dismissive. She was of few words, spoke in a low tone almost impossible to hear, didn't make any effort to be understood, she was unhelpful and just plain rude.
We left and luckily found another Hot Pot restaurant outside the Bullring, next the mini golf. The staff there was lovely and the food too, we are happy to never visit again the Happy Lamb Hot Pot and highly reccomend others to seek better places where they treat you with basic manners.
Considering that when we visited it was not even busy, makes you question how rude the staff can be when it is packed with people.
I really recommend this establisment to train their staff or select them properly, there are other restaurants like this and how the staff behaves sets apart a restaurant...
