Perfect for a relaxed dinner on the move.⁣ . ⁣ Verdict: To be added to the list of "regulars"⁣ . ⁣ Décor: 6/10⁣⁣ Food: 8/10⁣⁣ Service: 9/10⁣⁣ Overall: 8/10⁣⁣ . ⁣ Background:⁣ Wagamamas is a large chain of restaurants serving Japanese inspired cuisine across the UK & Europe. We had been meaning to visit for a while, firstly because one of us had never been, and also because of the recent addition of a "vegan egg" to the menu. We visited on 13 December, after a visit to the Bullring. ⁣⁣ Food:⁣ On the recommendation of my girlfriend, we went for a "Yasai Katsu" curry each, with a side of "Bang Bang Cauliflower" to share, and a "Vegan Egg" to try. The Curry was based around sweet potato slices battered in sweet breadcrumbs, and served with sticky rice, vegetables and pickles in a "katsu" sauce. The dish tasted great and was very filling; neither of us were able to completely finish. The Cauliflower side was a little spicy for our pallettes but one order ample to be shared. The Vegan Egg was far from exceptional; a little pasty and vinegary tasting and we whilst we are glad we tried it, we wouldn't be ordering it again. ⁣ ⁣ We had the "White Chocolate & Ginger Cheesecake" (great, as expected) and "White Chocolate & Matcha Cheesecake" (hesitantly, not liking Matcha from previous experience, but glad we had tried it as it was surprisingly good). The offer of complimentary green tea at the end was much appreciated.⁣ ⁣⁣ Service:⁣ The venue was very busy on arrival, which is expected this close to Christmas. Seeing this and the seating arrangements, we asked whether we could sit side-by-side but were initially refused. We made the same request to the staff within the restaurant and it was accepted. This was appreciated given that the restaurant was so noisy and had we been sitting opposite each other we would have struggled to hear each other.⁣ ⁣⁣ Decor:⁣ It was very cold the night we visited, and there was a draught blowing throughout the restaurant. Even though we were sat towards the centre of the restaurant and there was an "air-curtain" at the door, it was still felt due to the constant opening of the door. Timing: We stayed for around 90 mins, which was plenty.

Came here on Tuesday 21st December. I had No Duck donburi, green tea, water and half a bottle of wine. The service from all of the staff was exceptional. I could not fault anyone. The first person we had interaction was with Nick who promptly cleaned a table, got us seated, and took our drinks order in a friendly and efficient manner. He took down all of our allergies and gave honest answers to all of our questions which was appreciated. We also spoke to Diana who also had exceptional service. She spoke to us like humans (sounds crazy, but it's the truth) which is a very undervalued quality. She gave us quality time and and responded to everything we said. The added bonus of the evening was that our bill was paid for by Wagamama due to the 12 days of Christmas campaign. It was an amazing and heartfelt gesture. Diana confirmed to us that they pick one set of customers, and they ended up choosing us. Thank you to all of the staff at Wagamamas. I will definitely be eating here again and I won't mind paying next time 😊

Visited Wagamama Bullring many times as well as the one on New Street. We stopped going to them in Birmingham due to orders being wrong, taking a long time and food being not a usual standard. I’m pleased to say that when we visited on 27th November at lunch time it was really good. I was surprised to see how staff attitude had improved massively compared to previous visits. The food was absolutely bang on. It all came together which is what we asked for. The food was nice fresh and hot. We ordered the ā€˜Bang Bang cauliflower’ ā€˜fried squid’ ā€˜naked katsu curry’ ā€˜pork belly ramen noodle’ x2 free green teas and a large super green drink. Staff did bill me incorrectly at the end (less than it should of been) but was polite and apologetic explaining he was new, this made me feel ok about it and so paid the remaining amount. We are only human after all and his service was great as were all the staff in there that day. We will return and I hope the same standard is there when we do. Well done guys at Wagamama šŸ‘šŸ»

If I could give 0 stars I would! Worst thing ever! They’ve mixed up our orders so the waiter called Maria changed it but that meant my friend was finished with her food before I even got mine. Maria was professional and welcoming that’s the only positive about this visit. Then we complained that my friends dish was unusually spicy and inedible even though she always orders it and it’s always mild. So new staff coming over called Diana the trainee manager (cherry on top of the cake)has been told my friend didn’t like her dish but she just left and did nothing. Obviously paid the bill even though I should’ve refused to pay for my friends dish. Then one of the Maria came over to ask how things were I told her my friend did not like her dish. She came back and asked if we have already paid for that I said yes as I have. She wanted to take my friends dish off the bill but instead she said she’ll get my email address so she can pass it to head office and they could send me a voucher of some sort. It’s been days since and I never received compensation. So I’m assuming that email will never arrive that’s just how they make you shut up. Well I left unhappy and they never took that item off the bill or refunded nor did they email about any compensation so I think that whole thing was unprofessional and unacceptable. We ended up leaving hungry as none of our dishes satisfied us. My friend literally couldn’t eat her dish as it was way too spicy and they wouldn’t offer to replace it with something else. I wasn’t impressed by it whatsoever. Rubbish service and food. Customer service and problem solving skills non existent. It was all very unprofessional. It’s a very poor experience which is a shame as I visited wagamama several times before and I always left happy and tipped generously and complimented the chefs. Never again! Safe to say I will not be visiting this chain ever again. Save your time and money don’t bother with...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at wagamama and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm and friendly smiles by the staff, instantly creating a welcoming atmosphere. The interior design of the restaurant was modern and trendy, with a touch of authenticity that added to the overall dining experience. The open kitchen concept allowed me to witness the skill and passion of the chefs as they prepared the diverse range of dishes on the menu. Speaking of the menu, it was a true delight. wagamama offers a wide selection of Japanese-inspired dishes, from flavorful ramen bowls to crispy and fresh sushi rolls. I was particularly delighted with their vegetarian and vegan options, which were just as delicious and satisfying as any meat-based dish. The quality of the food exceeded my expectations. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with vibrant flavors. The portions were generous, ensuring that I left the restaurant feeling completely satisfied. The ingredients were fresh and of high quality, which truly elevated the dining experience. Furthermore, the service at wagamama was impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and happy to provide suggestions or answer any questions I had. Despite the restaurant being busy, the servers remained efficient and accommodating, making sure that each guest received the high level of service they deserved. Overall, my experience at wagamama was exceptional. The combination of friendly and welcoming staff, stunning interior design, delicious and diverse menu options, and impeccable service made for an unforgettable dining experience. I would highly recommend wagamama to anyone looking to enjoy a satisfying meal in a vibrant and energetic...
