Fantastic changes have been made since I visited the "old" rainbow pub venue. Decor is tasteful, bar and seating is gorgeous and classy. I've had the Sunday dinners from BaHa (vegan) twice now and both times have been outstanding. Really delicious food and worth every penny. Staff are great - really friendly, helpful and on top of everything. I don't think I saw an empty glass or unclean table for longer than 30 seconds before a staff member was on it - really good work. Only thing I would say, is research your drinks prices. Some things are really well priced and good value when some other things are pretty expensive compared to other venues in the area. Also when eating our dinner at 7pm on a Sunday, the music got cranked up to an unbearable level - we couldn't hear our conversation, so we did leave after food rather than having another drink to somewhere a bit quieter. I think this might have been done to cover up the sound of the gig going on in their room next door (that was also shaking the floors). Really good venue but I would recommend checking if there's a gig on next door before coming down for food!

Delicious food, there was of bit of a wait on our orders but that was no big deal as the atmosphere was great. I had the 'King of Roasts' which was incredible. I love the fried king oyster mushroom, it goes hand in hand with the garlic herb butter. I paired this Kentucky Wings which I ordered with Maple Barbecue sauce, perfect combination. My girlfriend had the Lentil loaf was quite dry so it needed a bit more gravy, and the veg was a touch on the cold side. Overall, it was a lovely Sunday lunch, a really nice end to the week. I'd recommend to all, vegan, vegetarians and meat-eaters.

Long narrow bar with a small area to the left and behind the bar. Great welcome when I arrived with a joke or two, made me feel welcomed and relaxed, excellent. Couple of TVs on the walls, wooden floors throughout and nice seating area. Usual tap beers with some good ales and craft beers. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Beer was amazing with food available also. Large leaded windows with mosaic look. Great old building. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

I don't venture into Birmingham city centre often but on the odd occasion I meet up with one of my friends we choose The Rainbow. Our clubbing/ridiculously busy pub days are over. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed, all of the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic, as vegetarians it's so nice knowing we can order anything on the menu and it's always fresh and delicious. We have been tonight for food and drinks and a catch up. Whilst minding our business we were approached by an intoxicated male. Turned out he was completely harmless however what really impressed me were the 2 guys working. One of which was Clem but had not seen the other guy before. Straight away they had their eye on us, they both asked several times if we were OK and when the intoxicated male went for another drink they recognised he was drunk and should not be served anymore alcohol. Me and my friend were fine and can look after ourselves however seeing the guys like this really reassured me regarding the safety of females in the Rainbow. Just another reason to visit. Adore the...

This is undoubtedly the best atmosphere I have experienced for years. The staff are all friendly and helpful, this is then mirrored by the happy customers. The venue itself is a thing of beauty. You have the basement downstairs with its own bar and live music, there is an outdoor area with a bar and TV for live events streamed on TV, this area also doubles up as the smoking area. The main section of the venue is a modern but traditional looking pub, with stain glass windows and a proper traditional wooden bar. I'm not a vegan but the vegan only food here is tasty enough that I didn't even realise it was vegan. This is a must visit venue for me on any trip to town, whether its day shopping or out on a night. Highly...
