Chopstix - Middlebrook — Restaurant in Bolton

i went in a couple days ago (sunday i think) it wasn't very busy, they had two chefs cooking and one person serving. but then it sounded like the delivery systems got busy. as soon as the sounds for the delivery's went off (i know the sounds because i used to work in retail) one of the chefs told the young girl who was serving to "give him 30 seconds" to finish the dish he was cooking and then he would take over serving the line if she wanted to get some delivery's done. the food he made looked absolutely delicious (it was the caramel drizzle chicken). when he finished his food he placed the food on the counter, and then gave me a big warm smile and asked me to give him a couple seconds to wash his hands (which i really respected) then he made me aware that it was card payment only and answered all my question, he made me feel like he actually cared about every answer he was giving. throughout all of my questions and me making my choices, he had the biggest smile on his face. i ended up choosing the large box with vegetable noodles, bbq chicken, salt and pepper chicken, and the caramel chicken (that the boy had just made) it was all absolutely delicious. the boy told me about the chopstix app and let me know that if i download it the next time i come in i can get 5 spring rolls for free. by the end of this i just needed to know this boys name, his name is John and i really think that this company is making a mistake for having this boy as a chef (do not get me wrong, his food is superb, it was absolutely delicious and i could eat this boys food all day) but the way that that he presents himself and cares about his customers make me think he should be a server. anyway i know this was a very long review but i would definitely recommend this place, the service is phenomenal and the food...

Didnt even get to eat anything but wanted to warn others not to waste their time. Went in Sunday at about 4:15pm. Nearly out of noodles, rice and several of the main toppings, so left as didnt have lots of time. After a brief walk I decided to go back in and give it another shot. A couple of the toppings had been replaced so I decided to stay. With only 2 people in front of me in queue, 15 minutes go by and not one member of staff acknowledged my existence. Then for some reason the girl serving serves the lad behind me, with the last portion of rice by the way! But I stayed polite and thought she might not have seen me, which is very easily done with me being 6 ft 6 and 19 stone! So I stayed in queue presuming rice and noodles will be replenished any second now, as these are the 2 foundations of every meal they do. That didn't happen and then the same girl started to serve the 2 ladies behind me. So I said, "Excuse me, you haven't served me yet!" The girl then told me its contactless card payments only and asked if thats alright? I told her it would have to be even though I was hoping to pay cash. I then tried to order a large box with rice and 3 toppings, to then be told rice won't be ready for 10 minutes. Having already wasted 30 minutes by this point, for what was suppose to be a 2 minute pick up job, I'd had enough so told her to forget it and left with nothing. Complete joke, pi$$ up and brewery...

I messaged chopstix on insta just to ask if they stopped doing the sweet chilli prawns as it wasn't showing up on uber anymore..I got a response saying they did instore only...No they don't. Don't know who runs the chopstix account but they really should do their research before responding lol. So went in Horwich branch staff were actually really helpful and told me they've stopped doing the prawns as they've swapped them for the orange chicken so don't understand why I was told otherwise...let's talk about the noodles...at the anrndale branch they are lovely glossy looking noodles, Horwich branch the noodles are SUPER DRY...like DRY DRY...chef may need retraining...? And finally the teriyaki beef...I got ...FOUR SLITHERS of beef!!!!!!!!!!!! What in the actual hell is going on here then...4 tiny slithers and some peppers to BULK out that topping...absolute shocking...like actually how can you tell a person to pay £17 for 2 with toppings of that portion size. I know I will probably get a generic response from chopstix saying they're sorry to hear about my experience and want me to make contact as I've read all over the other reviews but I honestly thought I'd give it benefit of doubt...was not...
