This review ends better than it starts hence my 5 star review but it wasnt with issues..... I have been many times to Nam Ploy on COR before it moved to Middlebrook. On entering the new establishment I was surprised it didnt continue its thai experience. On COR it was very authentic & very much a thai experience. However it was still a nice welcome. We were quickly seated & drinks order taken & served. We were seated up in a lovely booth- although just the two of us. But very nice all the same. Sadly to say it kind of ended there.... our order was placed (although the girl taking our order clearly didnt know the menu & kept asking "what number is it?" Which I found very strange) Anyway our starter was served..... without our crackers - which some were delivered to another table which had come in after us..... we had to ask twice to two different members of staff & eventually got them. The starter was delicious without doubt. However..... then we waited. And waited . 45mins passed & our starters hadn't even been cleared- never mind our mains arriving. Two tables (including us) had to go to the bar to order more drinks as staff were none existent where we were sat. Not great customer service. After nearly an hour my partner approached the "welcome desk" to ask where our main course was....... Then the saviour arrived in the form of Anna. She came over & apologised for our wait. And prioritised our order. Within 5-8mins our mains arrived. And wow - what an amazing meal it was. Fresh, tasty & ample portions. It was truly amazing. Anna stood at the pass the whole time we were there ensuring not only our food but others went out perfectly. Overall the food was fantastic. The customer service compared to when they were on COR was awful. Massive staff retraining needed here if you want to succeed. All this said, Anna was absolutely fantastic. She is a saviour to your team & an absolute credit to you. She deserves every praise in this situation. I wanted to walk out (& I was in the hospitality industry a long time when I was younger) but it was Anna that made us stay. Her customer service is second to none. Shes fantastic. You are very lucky to have such a wonderful professional person in your management team. We will come again, but I'd appreciate you taking our comments on board. Food was absolutely fantastic...
Read moreRecently visited Nampoly over at the Reebok and have to say mixed feelings after our visit!.
The food was nice, and the staff were attentive / polite, but the place as a restaurant is just a muddle as to what it wants to be and project, Is it a restaurant, sports bar, cabaray establishment, we had it all in same the night we visited.!!
Nampoly has taken over a building that used to be an isrish bar pub chain and not much changed inside from the previous owner!! It's pretty much exactly like the original restaurant, just with a splash Thai ornaments, with few Buddhas thrown round place, given it that Thai feel...
We sat down in one booth near the entrance, which was comfy but also placed use in eye shot of their massive projection screen and stage, at the time was showing a live football match!! So, unfortunately, we were sitting between family's trying to enjoy a family dinner and group lads cheering on their for their local team. Great!!!!
Fortunately, it wasn't that loud, and we could enjoy the meal.!! But no sooner had the match finished. We were then sarinaded by gentlemen walking around the building singing classic cabaret songs - give him his due, he was a talented gentleman and did have a good voice.
If I'm honnest, this place just felt like the Crofters 2.0 if ya have been before if ya have been to there previous place in Harwood!!. Certainly ran by the same staff recognised some the same faces..
The food was nice, although for what you're paying you dont get very much for ya money, all the dishes are on skimpy side, portins are very small.
Also, be mindful when you get the bill !!!!! They automatically add on a service free of 12% that addes neaelt £10+ too the bill 🤬 ( really can't stand this!! If I wish to tip the staff for good service, that's my choice. It's not a mandatory thing!! we aren't in American, and more to the point, is this tip going to the staff or to the owners with it being added too the to the bill???.)
Overall, would I go back to this place 50/50 and not in a rush.!!!
I would go if it was a group meal with the lads, but taking the family out it wouldn't be our first choice. There are other Thai places in Bolton that are far better than this place and not as...
Read moreMe and husband visited the branch at middle brook bolton today. We were greeted at the door by a waitress who asked us if had a reservation, we said no and got a look of pure disgust. We made made to feel as welcome as dirt. We were then shown to a table and given menus. After waiting over ten minutes I stood up to see if anyone can take a drinks order. It only then that the waitress reappeared. I began to tell what drink I would like and pointed to my food choice on the menu. Only to be cut off abruptly in mid sentence as she only wanted to know the drinks first. I was beginning to wish I'd walked out at the outset. She was rude, impolite and very abrupt. I ordered a prawn dish to be made mild with no chillies. Needless to say it came with chillies and had to be returned. This waitress then shouted across the room at me that I had only said mild. To which I had to reiterate that I had asked for no chillies. Embarrassing and rude, in front of other diners. Another family commented to be that service with a smile would be nice and told me the same waitress had also been rude to them. The food itself was lovely, as is the ambience and restaurant. Sadly this member of staff ruined the whole experience with her sour attitude and face pulling. Her name was Emma and she was blonde. While Christmas is a stressful and busy time in the hospitality industry I do believe if you can't be pleasant you should not be working with the publicvas there is no need to be...
