Me and my girlfriend had been meaning to come here for ages and my birthday rolled around, so we figured this was as good an occasion as any to spend that little bit extra. We really weren't disappointed. We received a warm welcome and were initially going to be sat upstairs but they were very accommodating when my girlfriend explained she wasn't great with stairs. It was quite busy for a Thursday but testimony to the good reputation of the place. The food took just the right amount of time you'd expect for something of this quality. I went for rump (medium rare w/Béarnaise sauce, pictured), girlfriend had fillet (medium w/blue cheese sauce), dripping chips and the 'cabbage in the coals' for side. House wine to drink. This was one of those rare occasions it felt like every last morsel of food was brimming with flavour. The steaks even smelled incredible when they arrived. They just had this otherworldly smokiness like nothing I've had before, this normally very fast eater carefully savouring every last morsel. The sauces got full marks and the dripping chips were a very appropriate pairing. The 'cabbage in the coals' was basically a big chunk of cabbage (maybe a 1/4 slab, I dunno) that had been probably cooked in the same bit as the steaks, with a charred outer layer and a bacon butter topping that if I recall correctly had been blowtorched so it became more like a powder but in a good way. Bit of an effort to cut with the steak knives but still incredible. All in all, it was one of those times where you just wanna lick your plate but you can't because polite company and all that. To top it all off, I was given a complimentary scoop of ice cream as a birthday treat. I'm told it was some kind of 'milk' flavour ice cream, which was very interesting, as were the wee coffee/choc type granule stuff it came with. All part of the magic. Waiting staff were polite throughout. Some may perhaps seem more brisk in manner than others but it was late and forgivable with how busy it was, and we'd already decided what we were having. Only my girlfriend visited the toilet and she even remarked how good they were, nice soap and everything. The only tiny bit of constructive criticism would be that as a matter of personal preference, keeping the music along the chill/smooth/jazzy lines would be best for the ambiance. Stuff that's more 'lively' can be a bit of a sensory overload, especially at busier times. But that's just me, and it did get more appropriate later on. In short, if you can budget for this place, definitely give it a shot, but do book ahead to guarantee yourself a table, regardless of what day it is. It's popular for a reason!

Driven over 2hours from Aldershot Hampshire to try this place,

Recommended by my brothers Fiancee, For my brothers 33birthday today…

I am a bit of a restaurantier in my own unique way, And the experience at the pasture Bristol Did not dissapoint… From the Service mannerisms, to the food on the plate… was topNotch… Ambience and atmosphere of the place was very calming… Prices of the menu, was on the Mid to higher end of the spectrum.. But for me personally the Quality of the products you get on the plates and Sides and Sauces and Service by staff beats franchise chains such as Miller and Carters, harvesters, beef Eaters by a few Stratosphere ahead..

That fire would coal taste was fickin awesome, The Marbling Fats surrounding the meats wasnt shy to shine in its all fatty melt in your mouth glory perfectly complimenting the meaty protein that also wasnt chewy in any way shape or form… I ordered the Sirloin 200g, medium Rare But the rest ordered Ribeyes 300g to their likings… We shared each others steaks… Deffo worth the money..

The bread and olives were amazing aswell.. And the salted butter that came with it was fantastik….

I will be back again to this establishment in the future, even if just for ordering the fattiest marbliest Ribeye medium i can get for my poundsterlings😎😎👌👌

Thank you for bringing back the good old proper steakhouse…

Definately a slowly extinction dying breed and a dinosaur find In these strange economical times…

Thank you thank you once again.. Even down to that wonderful taste of that fireCoal Wood you chargrill the steaks with… Every mouthful was a new and shockingly wonderful delight… Treating the ingredients as it is.. But bringing out the best of what it can become.. That is true Skill and Art… Without Cosmetically tarting it up to be made into something that is not simply natures intended… And your establishment has hit the nail right on the head… without the nail feel its forced to join the impact to the slab, but to naturally ease in and be in one with the wood🤪🤪🤪🤪

Fantastik stuff 10out of 10 is still underRated for...

I'd heard lots of good things about Pasture before I booked a table. Due to its popularity, it's not always easy to book a table. But I managed to secure an early dining slot to celebrate my and my partner's anniversary last week.

I have nothing but good things to say about the whole experience. When we walked through the door, the lady who greeted us and showed us to our table was lovely and friendly. With such a warm welcome, we were off to a good start already. Sitting down, we had a few minutes to survey our surroundings in the converted Victorian warehouse the restaurant calls home. It's a beautiful light and airy space, particularly on a sunny day with the sun streaming through the windows.

It wasn't long before another lovely member of staff, Francesca, came to take our drinks and food order. Given the high level of customer service we had already received, we were expecting the food to be incredible - and we weren't disappointed. We ordered some sourdough bread to nibble on before the main course, which was delicious. Being a bread fiend, I could have eaten more!

On to the main course and as this was a steakhouse, it was an easy choice. We were incredibly impressed with the quality of the food. The fillet steak I had was tender and cooked to perfection. My partner was equally impressed with hers. We both love desserts, so made sure we weren't too full to give them a try. We chose the chocolate dome and the coconut and lime parfait. The presentation was excellent and both desserts were delicious.

If you've never dined at Pasture before, I highly recommend it. It's quite possibly going to be our go-to place when celebrating a special occasion. So thank you to the team at Pasture for such a wonderful evening. And a special shout out to our lovely server Francesca, for being so friendly and attentive. Great food accompanied by great customer service sums up the Pasture experience for us. We'll...
