Firstly I just want to say this hotel doesn’t get enough recognition. We stayed here for a few nights for my husband’s 50th birthday and we had taken our dog with us. The service was amazing Richard and Karen made us both feel welcome right from the start of our wee break. The hotel room we had was clean all the facilities we needed hot shower, little toiletries in the bathroom which is great if you haven’t already brought your own there was a kettle tea and coffee which was topped up along with hairdryer etc which was great as I forgot mine. The bed we had was massive and we had a great nights sleep. The hotel is very cozy the bar area has a cozy warm fire lovely decor and we could take the dog in with us which was great we also met some other couples who also rated the hotel for it’s hospitality and service. The hotel is very close to the little town you can walk in no problem with great little keepsake shops, outdoor shops, restaurants , bars etc. The Old Mill Inn was great for food we also went to the fish and chip shop for food another night which was great the home made steak pie and chips was to die for. Breakfast at the Acarsaid hotel was absolutely fantastic we had the full Scottish breakfast with coffee toast and there was a variety of juices and continental breakfast it was actually one of the best breakfast we have ever had. We did the Pitlochry dam walk which was gorgeous and there are other walks you can do from there as well if you wish views were just stunning. We just want to say Karen,Richard thank you so much for making us feel so welcome and we will definitely be booking in the future to return back. From Linda Millar

Built in 1880 for Lady Helen Stuart, The Countess of Kilbride, this extended Victorian house is one of Pitlochry oldest hotels and with that distinction comes a long tradition of highland hospitality. The hotel is situated in an enviable position only a short, level walk from the centre of Pitlochry and offers a variety of accommodation for all visitors to this incredibly diverse part of Scotland. Our cosy lounges, well-stocked bar, off-street parking and free Wi-Fi all contribute to making your stay special. Not to mention the scenic views and delicious cuisine in our Steakhouse Restaurant. At Acarsaid we have 19 bedrooms, all different sizes and shapes and with beds from single to super-kingsize we can suit most requirements. Our rooms are all situated either on the ground or first floor so not lots of stairs to negotiate with your bags – although help is always on hand! We truly believe that your bedroom should be a bit of a home from home and as such our rooms are warm, welcoming places for you to relax in and enjoys a great nights’ sleep. All of our en-suite rooms have flat screen TV, hairdryers and well stocked hospitality trays with coffee, selection of teas and biscuits. In the bathrooms we offer complimentary Scottish toiletries and large fluffy bath sheets. Free Wi-Fi access is available (most of the time!) throughout the hotel. All of our bedrooms and public areas at Acarsaid hotel are non smoking.

We arrived at the Acarsaid Hotel to a very warm welcome from the team. They were very attentive to us upon arrival. (& throughout our whole evening) We chose our wine, which we got to to try first, and settled down with our menu. It was quite difficult to choose what to have as everything on the menu looked amazing. I can be quite difficult with my many intolerances and what impressed me was the knowledge of what went in to the ingredients and how it was cooked, there was no need to wait as they went to ask the chef as our waitress knew exactly what went in to the food. The portions were generous and well presented. I had smoked Salmon with lemon and capers served with mini toasts followed by sirloin steak and chips. It was gorgeous, just how I liked it and very tasty. The hotel itself is just on the skirts of Pitlochry, within walking distance from the centre of town. I highly recommend that walk to this amazing hotel. We had such a great night made all that better with amazing food and lovely staff. I know its only 5 stars but I'd definitely give the Acarsaid Hotel 10 stars. We will definitely be going back next time we are up.

The hotel was clean, spacious and tasteful in a central location in Pitlochry. The only issue was that it was impossible to sleep because the sound insulation was so poor. We were in room 9 and the inhabitants of the room above talked non stop until 2am and we could hear every word. There is no reception at night, only a phone number which it states twice can be used for emergencies only. In the end I had to confront the room above myself which I found very stressful - and then we were kept up the rest of the night by the loud snoring! We were so exhausted we missed breakfast and cancelled all of our hill walking plans for the next day. When we politely raised our issue with the hotel, in person and by email, the staff are appalling rude saying that they didn’t believe us, that other guests talking in their room was an emergency so we should have known to call them, and that the price we paid, almost £120 a night, wasn’t enough for us to complain. I know it’s been a tough year for hotels and we had been pleased to support an independent hotel, but this hotel ruined our much awaited and needed holiday. We booked the hotel based upon the good reviews so I think it’s only fair to warn others that this is the worst hotel experience we...
