Well what can I say , Me and my wife stayed in room 8 and having been given the key to our room we was looking forward to our weeks holiday here as part of a party of 9 , Day one was good and Sharon and Ozzie were the perfect hosts but after checking in and settling in things went down hill from there , The room is very out dated and so was all the rest that the rest of our party stayed in and for the money that we paid we were expecting far more, In the whole week the shower was impossible to use and Sharon pointed out the way the water system is and with others using there rooms the pressure was not brilliant well this was very much the case , As for the bathroom itself if you are a bigger person then the toilet is hopeless and seems they was put in just to be classed as ensuite and to be honest I have stayed in better places that have cost far less, We had a 5 year old with us and an 18 year old that had problems and both was easy excitable and we was made to feel that we hade to watch the noise level even though we was only in the hotel to ourselves until the Thursday and even then we were reminded that we had other guests coming in and that was Sharon's way of letting us know that we needed to be more quiet , We paid £2000 for one week for 9 of us and was expecting a far better stay and don't be fooled with what you read on other reviews because that is where we made the mistake and booked thinking that was had found a great place to stay , I would have been far more happier with a tent on the beach had I known that we would have so many problems , The breakfast there was very little choice and if you never told Sharon you wanted something different you would never have got anything different, You had a friend breakfast or nothing else until you spoke up and this needs to be different to accommodate more choice and better times and there is no choice of fruit or yogurt or muesli which would have been nice , The only good thing about our stay here is Ozzie such a gentleman and always on many occasions was the face of the hotel even though he admits that its very much Sharon's thing in running the hotel , We never had a change of bedding or even offer of clean towels and would never want to come back here again , Even when we left on the Sat afternoon there was no sign of Sharon to bid us farewell which told us everything about us she is just rude with her demeanour. I could go on but if you want to find out for yourself then do so at your own...
Read moreWe were all so excited to stay at this b&b.. everything seemed perfect, Sharon the owner seemed so accommodating by phone and email ||but please do not be fooled by her..we paid £2000 9 of us £500 a room for a week. Rooms were tiny..2 ||towels which ended up dirty to last all week. Bedding wasn’t changed and when asked as her helper wasn’t there we had to put the bedding on ||ourself.. none of this seemed an issue the biggest problem was how rude and unfriendly Sharon was.. ||clearly she doesn’t like families.. I had my 5 year old ||grandson my 8 month pregnant daughter with us but most of all we had a 18 year old lad with problems who Sharon clearly didn’t like.. the way she spoke to him on accessions was appalling.. we have stayed in some dives and to us it’s just a place to stay but never have we ever felt so unwelcome..she had nothing to do for us all week even told her not to worry about cleaning the rooms we would do it…only had breakfast for the first few days and even that seemed a mission for her just kept assuming everyone wanted the same everyday to the point we got fed up and stopped having it..Ozzie on the other hand a huge credit to this b&b we seen more of him than Sharon deffo a family man always made a effort.. the last resort came when before arriving as my grandson wanted to see the air show I asked if we could keep a room on as we were travelling back the same day to give my heavily pregnant daughter and grandson a rest, by email was told we could sort it when there. When asked on the last day I was told a rude NO.. they were fully booked.. yet the whole week this was empty to then find out this was pure lies!!! Someone came in random and booked a room.. it was hammering down with rain we wasn’t leaving until the evening and just a few hours extra with a room which we would of paid for for my daughter and grandson to rest in before travelling home to be told no and lied to showed what kind of person Sharon was.. I don’t usually moan believe me we have stayed in some dives but I was utterly shocked how a person that seemed so nice ended up being so rude..a very lazy owner who likes the money but doesn’t like looking after her guests..£500 a room which you couldn’t swing a cat in and very little hospitality to me is a waste of money.. don’t be fooled like we were as this b@ b isn’t...
Read moreReally sweet B&B. The owners, Sharon and Ozi, can't do enough for their guests. I asked for yoghurt the first day, they didn't have any but then bought some in specially for me the following days. Breakfast is a lovely cooked English breakfast and choice of cereals, I'd suggest to the owners they might add museli to the selection, but that's because I'm a fusspot! ||There is free parking right in front of the property. Sainsbury's is nearby for a top up shop or picnic supplies, and the beach is about 5 mins walk away. ||The room is spotlessly clean, I have to say the plumbing is quite dated and a bit troublesome (pressure and temperature of shower both a bit dicky sometimes, water from the handbasin bubbles up through the shower, the loo flush occasionally needs pressing again to make the trickling stop, the whole system is a bit noisy). However, renovating properties such as this to bring them fully up to date is a mammoth undertaking, and for the price we paid for our room, we got more than fair value for money.||Top tip for travellers during COVID is to book any restaurant reservations well ahead if you want to eat in Paignton. We tried multiple times to get into T&Js which looked splendid, but they are so fully booked,...
