Stayed 4 nights mid August was surprised to see availability at short notice. Opted to have breakfast included for each morning. Extra £120 for 3 adults and a child. Kids eat free with a paying adult. Checking in was easy, staff friendly and welcoming. Room was spacious, well presented and clean. Couldn't ask for more there. Power points - there are a lack of these making it interesting trying to charge various electronics. The bedside sockets were just USB-A fortunately I had converters to convert to type C. Breakfast, good selection to choose from including Croissants and Pancakes, fruit, yoghurt and cereal. Along with a fry up and toast. Food was nice, beans could do with being hotter and more consistancy with heating up pancakes as some days they were barely warmed and another day too hot to handle. Overall very happy with food. My only moan about the stay is parking. I know it is mentioned on the website at the time of booking parking is extra, not guaranteed etc but £3 for 3hrs or £7 for 24hrs is a great price if you can get parked. I paid for 3 days parking and was only actually able to park on site, overnight on one occasion. This meant I had to spend £10 per night for 3 nights parking elsewhere. I'm fine with being charged to park but at least allocate parking as an optional extra at the time of booking. Popping to the shop and coming back to find that you can no longer park after paying for a full day is a little much. Other than that gripe very happy with my stay and will likely return. Will just be more aware of the parking situation in the future.

This Travelodge is near the seafront and close to the beach, it is relatively modern and still in reasonable condition. The staff were friendly. I was in 114, a first floor room with a bath, the room was clean as were the sheets and towels and common areas. The view was of the rear car park. There is very limited parking and I had to park in a public car park. The car park is a good walk away, Colin Road (500m) but you can drop your bags at the door. There is a charge for the parking £8.50 using the app, and the car park is not well lit, I felt uncomfortable leaving the car there. I arrived at 9pm and asked about food, there is very little locally at this time so JustEat came to the rescue. 15min to delivery from order for Indian. I was advised that the pubs were open late... not true, I tried this first. As a business traveller I did not enjoy my stay, everything seemed cheap but functional, Travelodge appear to spend the minimum they can get away with. I paid over £100 for the room and have to say it was disappointing. I advise staying elsewhere if at all possible, I certainly will not pick this chain again if I have a choice. Maybe if I had paid £40 and was able to get there early enough to park would think differently . WiFi is extra money ... rude on a room this price. The bed was hard and I could feel the springs, I didn't sleep at all well and in the end got up at 5am and left. I have attached some pictures of the room, note the bathroom mould. 3* is probably generous given the room price.

The Hotel is less than a minute walk to the beach.

The parking is ridiculous there is parking but first come first served - irrespective of if you have already paid for the day already .Night staff would double park out the front cause in all sorts of problems with customers trying to manoeuvre their vehicle vehicles.

Our room was clean & tidy - however extremely hot no air conditioning- a window that opens only from the bottom by 4 inches the top sliding sash won’t open - making the room even hotter. There was a fan provided legally presented with its own dust cover- however when you remove the dust cover the fan was full of dust and unclean a shame really.

The bathroom was well presented clean - however the basin had recently been replaced and the old silicon was still adhered to the wall no attempt to clean it off.

The toilet was clean however, was the lowest toilet I’ve ever had the unfortunate pleasure of using it was more like a Gym Workout to get on and off of it because it was so low .

There were plenty of clean towels and the soap dispenser.

I think the real problem lies with the management and the staff.

Some staff are excellent and go above and beyond to assist.

However, other members of the team are lazy, rude and not customer focused.

An incident occurred in the breakfast area which left someone with burns. There were no first aiders on Duty- there were no first aid kits offered the whole incident was extremely badly managed to the detriment of the injured party.

The breakfast area is extremely cramped and unfit for purpose. It is badly laid out.

The door from the bar opens into the area where hot drinks are served an accident waiting to happen.

The kitchen area door is exactly the same opens into an area where hot food is being plated up.

The area is not managed by staff there is no crowd control to filter people into this area?

Tables are not wiped down from the night before and when you request this they are cleaned inappropriately and not efficiently - now leaving the tables wringing wet.

The breakfast area is laid out extremely badly and you end up juggling lids serving dishes plates while people are bumping into you with hot food and drinks.

The drinks area and the toast area are overloaded with signs of what you can and can’t do so much so that you don’t read any of them in the end.

Kitchen area is an accident waiting to happen. There appears to be no or little risk assessment.

Our staff appeared friendly but were inefficient one minute in reception one minute behind the bar or leaving people queueing waiting to be served in what is a very small area.

There are a lot of young staff members, they are inexperienced and through no fault of their own seem to be trying their best without much guidance.

Staff members including the manager would be seen regularly smoking out the front of the hotel in lobby area therefore had a lovely aroma of cigarette smoke. Front car park was littered beyond belief with cigarette butts along the wall in between the cars there is no attempt in any way to clear this area.

Night staff are quite unwelcoming and intimidating. Their cars being double parked in the front car park or across the main entrance.

The front reception area and the area leading to the disabled toilet and the rooms were regularly wet, slippery or covered in dog urine.

When reported to staff, they didn’t act immediately and sometimes the areas were left wet unchecked 10 to 15 minutes after reporting a wet floor in a main walkway to the Room rooms.

The staircase to the rooms are filthy. The carpeted areas require a deep clean. This area was not cleaned in three days I stayed there.

Children and families would walk into the hotel from the beach dripping with sand and water. No effort was made to inspect the walkways or clean up after them buy stuff.

Dogs could be regularly seen urinating from the lift area to the lobby area and yet this was not reported or tided up in a timely manner which is shameful.

I will not be returning until these safety issues...

Booked months ago for a short break at the start of the Summer Holidays. Got a good deal and I knew it wouldn't be 5 star.||Parked up in the last available space about 2.50pm and headed to reception only to find lots of people waiting to check in. This is the first Travelodge I've ever stayed in that wait until exactly 3pm to check you in. I've stayed in quite a few over the years all over the UK and have never experienced this.||Went up to our family room (303). Room was spacious but shower room is tiny. I was with my 12 year old so it didn't affect us too much, but people with small kids will struggle in such a tiny space.||The window was open and there was a fan in the room. It wasn't particularly hot when we stayed so was sufficient. The room was at the back and looked over the car park. We saw lots of cars coming in after 3pm and not be able to park. My suggestion would be if you're planning on checking in and then heading back out that day so not park there and pay for the 24 hour parking as there will be no spaces when you return. As I'd already paid for 24 hours we decided not to go out to dinner that night as planned but gran some fish and chips instead. The following day we got back to the hotel around 6pm and tried our luck in the car park. We got to the back but there were three cars who were also looking for space but couldn't turn round so we had to back up down the single lane road. Cars parked not in spaces at the front (all disabled) meant it was very difficult to turn round. We went and parked at the sea front for the night.||The room has lots of stains on the walls and was a bit grubby.||We had breakfast the first morning. I echo what others have said, hot food wasn't replenished quickly enough. Also, food was labelled wrong. The Quorn sausages and meat sausages had the wrong labels next to them. The cutlery was very dirty, grabbed some from another table but not much better. We decided not to have breakfast there the second morning, luckily hadn't paid.||We were woken up about 4am by the person next door and then again by the manager knocking on the door of the room next door around 7am which we didn't appreciate. Lots of raised voices. No apology made for this. The police then arrived to ask the occupant to leave. I overheard the manager say that the persons boyfriend has been banned so assume it was occupied by someone waiting to be housed by the council. ||The location was good, just a couple of minutes walk to the beach but Paignton itself isn't a great location. I'd head back up to Dawlish next time.||Overall, ok for the price paid but would not stay...

While we appreciate the opportunity to stay in such a well-located hotel, unfortunately, our experience did not meet the standards we expected—especially for the price paid.||Firstly, the cleanliness of the room was far below acceptable standards. On arrival, we noticed food smeared on the door—what appeared to be jam—and upon wiping it away, we discovered that several surfaces throughout the room were also very dirty. We should not have had to clean these ourselves upon arrival, and this is certainly not the standard we expected from a Travelodge stay.||Additionally, there was a clump of hair blocking the bath plug, which was extremely unpleasant and unhygienic.||The fan in the room was broken and only worked (without an extremely loud noise) when the protective cage was removed—creating a dangerous situation, especially with our two-year-old daughter in the room. With no air conditioning and an insufficient window for ventilation, we had to rely on this small, faulty fan to try and cool ourselves and our children down at night, which was far from ideal.||We also experienced issues with parking. Despite staying for four nights, there were no available parking spaces at the hotel during our entire stay. Thankfully, a neighbouring B&B kindly allowed us to park there, but this is not a solution guests should have to rely on.||The breakfast was also very disappointing. For the amount paid, the food quality was poor, there were no sauces available for children, the cutlery was dirty, and there was no bread for toast. To make matters worse, the breakfast was packed away by 9:50 AM, giving us very little time to access what little was on offer.||Overall, we found our stay extremely disappointing and not in line with the level of comfort, cleanliness, and service we have come to expect...
