Ocean Wild Fish Bar — Restaurant in England

‼️UPDATED‼️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I have spoken with the owner this morning after he contacted me to apologise for the inconvenience caused and explained how system malfunctions messed up orders and caused no end of problems, He was absolutely amazing about the situation and we are more than happy with the outcome, We can now enjoyed the best tasting chippy again knowing that it was a one off.⭐️⭐️⭐️

We have used Ocean Wild for a few years now and usually never have a problem. However Tonight was completely the opposite. After an hour & half waiting for food and 20/30 attempts to call the shop to find out where my food was I decided to go down and ask, Well the young lad behind the counter was rude, Abrupt and full off attitude. I get sometimes they are busy and deliveries get delayed but not answering the phone and attitude towards customers just because they wanna know where their PAID order is just ain’t the way to treat people. Ps The food arrived 1hr 45 mins after ordering and was luke...

This is the worst place to go to if anything proves wrong. The South African owner is tighter than a duck's arse and that's water tight. 3 weeks ago l had the worst chips and went back to him immediately and showed him. Instead of putting the matter right straight away he simply said "I'll give you a few extra chips next time." I went back the following week and although he wasn't on l told the Manager. When they wrapped my fish and chips l said "what do l owe you for the fish?" He waved it away and said "that's OK." Good service l thought! Today however l went in and the owner pulled me to one side and basically accused me of cheating him and lying about the circumstances and said "l expect you to pay for that." He wouldn't believe a word of the actual events and you can imagine where l told him to go ... I am fuming at this treatment and have told my friends (l once recommended them) never to bother...

The best fish and chips I have ever tasted, in my life, bar none. Chips are the benchmark for me with this meal and these guys take it seriously with their potato selection. Soft almost sweet potatoes fried in beef dripping is the key here. The cod that accompanied them had the perfect ration of batter to fish and was also cooked perfectly. Phenomenal value; a small cod and chips and a fish cake and chips for £12:50. An ample portion and not a single morsel was wasted as we stuffed our faces on the sea front. Staff friendly and efficient, immaculately clean and a great menu to choose from. Wholeheartedly recommend and will be doing so to my hotel guests too.

P.S. If this could have possibly been enhanced in any way for me, it would be homemade tartare sauce and a wedge of fresh lemon, but I was prepared with my own. Processed tartare sauce has no place on this...
