We arrived as a family – a father and two sons from Poland – and were warmly welcomed by the lovely couple who run the Calm Sea Guesthouse. Upon arrival, they greeted us with biscuits and Haribo sweets, which was a thoughtful gesture and made us feel instantly at home.
Our room was spotless and very tidy, with incredibly comfortable beds. We all had a great night’s sleep, and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly, which was a big bonus. The bathroom was also clean and well-maintained.
For breakfast, there were several options to choose from, and we tried most of them – everything was delicious! Additionally, the owners kindly arranged free parking for us nearby, which was really convenient.
The room was also equipped with a mini-fridge and a kettle, along with tea, coffee, and sugar. There was even milk in the fridge, so we made ourselves plenty of tea during our stay (Poles, like the British, enjoy their black tea with milk!).
The owners were extremely friendly, chatting with us and providing helpful tips for our trip. Overall, we’d rate this guesthouse 5/5, and who knows – we might return in the future!
Warm greetings from Poland to the lovely couple who made our stay so special!

Read moreWhat a truly wonderful treasure - Calm Sea Guesthouse & its lovely owners ! Right from our first contact and throughout our stay, Mel & Trish were warm, friendly & very helpful. They have a gift of hospitality making one feel comfortable. Mel helped my husband park in a convenient space on arrival day and gave us hints & tips on eating places, walks & places to visit. He & Trish took care of our cases on departure day so that we could enjoy a walk along the sea front until well after check-out.
The rooms were light, airy & immaculately clean as well as being cosy. The bed was most comfortable, encouraging such a good sleep. The room/ensuite toiletries, good quality biscuits & 'real milk' in a mini fridge were much appreciated as were the excellent poached eggs that topped off the great breakfast. Trish's fruit pots that embellished the cereal & yoghurt helped to make breakfast a really healthy & filling start to our day. Mel & Trish kindly showed us how the great decor touches had been achieved in the property - ideas for our own forthcoming move!
Calm Sea Guesthouse is conveniently situated for walks along the seafront, towards Weymouth Town & away from the centre. We shall be recommending this lovely place to our family & friends - especially the beautiful ground floor...
Read moreJust returned from our third visit to the Calm Sea Guest House. Why do we return? Mel and Trish are the perfect hosts with nothing too much trouble when it comes to their welcoming approach, knowledge of Weymouth and the surrounding area (extremely useful for finding places to visit and where to eat and drink). The guesthouse provides everything a visitor needs, whether it’s a solo traveller, couple or family with children. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with all the facilities you need however long your stay. Particularly useful is the small fridge in the bedroom stocked with fresh milk to complement the tea and coffee making facilities. The beds are one of the best I’ve slept in anywhere. Cannot conclude without mentioning the breakfasts, wide choice of foods freshly cooked to order in addition to cereals, fruit juices, yogurts, toast, spreads and pancakes, a particular favourite of our autistic granddaughter, who by the way was made especially welcome. Add endless tea and coffee to make a great start to the day. The location is ideally placed for the sea front being a few minutes walk away. All in all a perfect place to stay and the main reason we...
