Kotel Windermere — Hotel in Great Britain

We stayed here as a family of four and had the best time. The room was clean tidy and had plenty of space for us all. We booked here so that we could take advantage of its location, easy reach from the train station and the access to the fridge and microwave. Having a small food prep area made it easier for getting breakfast in the morning so we could get on and out into the hills. The little cooking facilities/ food prep area was perfectly clean and kitted out to a very high standard. There are shops in an easy walk to pick up things like milk. The bed set up of having the soft bed set up for the kids worked well for us. |The codes and all the pre arrival communications were to an excellent standard and the team were super helpful and very friendly. We were travelling by train and Kotel is an easy walk from the station even with a number of walking bags and suitcases. We were moving to another property and the team stored and moved our bags for us which was amazing and absolutely above and beyond the usual service that some places provide. |The building itself is beautiful and set in lovely gardens which you can access There is a lovely local pub over the road so you don't even have to walk very far for a drink or food.|The room is kitted out to a very nice standard and the hair dryer and straighteners are amazing additions. As is the Dyson fan which was very much needed as it was so hot for once in the lakes|The bathroom is lovely and likewise done to a high standard |The staff could not do enough to help and really made our stay. So thank you.|We will definitely be returning to stay again ... try...

I hate to leave a negative review but I’ve emailed the hotel several times over the last 2 weeks, on several different email addresses I have found for them, and had no response whatsoever ||We stayed here a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday night - birthday treat for my partner. This was our second visit having been 6 years previously but they have massively let their standards slide||Room was fairly clean but not immaculate. There were definite areas for improvement with the hygiene - towels stained, dust on higher areas, cobwebs around the led ceiling, shower screen dirty. Bed was 2 single beds pushed together which wasn’t a huge issue but worth mentioning - especially when it states a double on the booking. ||We went out for the evening and when we returned we discovered both beds were rock hard and one was extremely noisy at the slightest movement. Pillows were really old, flat, lumpy and hard. Fridge was obviously knackered as there was a loud humming coming from it in cycles, with slight breaks between of around 20 minutes - so each time you would just about be drifting off, the fridge would hum back into action and you’d be awake again||Possibly the most restless sleep we’ve ever had. Between the fridge kicking off it’s cycles of humming, the bed constantly creaking, feeling like you’re sleeping on concrete anyway and our dog also being unsettled at the frequency of sounds, we literally could not wait to check out in the morning and get back home||We would never return. There honestly are better hotels in the area that actually provide other amenities...

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE BY STAFF (ELDERLY MALE AND FEMALE STAFF [Mel]) . After a brief conversation with an elderly male staff, my father was under the impression that we were allowed a late-check-out without a surcharge as we check in rather late. However when we were checking out, we were charged the extra surcharge. As it was a female staff (Mel) that was checking us out, of course we needed to clarify this issue with the male staff. They both instantaneously got defensive and started raising voices saying that the surcharge is a must as cleaner has left the building etc. Under respectful circumstances, i would gladly pay the surcharge without any complaints but they both were inefficient communicating with a respectful tone. Moreover our stay was unpleasant as the sofa bed that they said would occupy 2 people was literally sinking in having us sleeping on steal beams the entire night. And the FREE WIFI IS NOT WORKING ( false advertisement) Upon checking out, we were brought to the cctv room to settle the surcharge. Looking at the cctv its obvious that the cleaner is still in the building. Its still suspicious that their card payments was not working. We payed cash n left immediately felt like i was scammed. Had they say it was policy and stop giving extra excuses to make us look dumb we would have...
