This is a beautiful little ice cream shop with so many flavours! Really attractive shop, and the presentation of the ice cream is great quality! There is a small bench for dining in that seats maybe 4 people.

There were all sorts of types of cones - we opted for nutty, red sherbet and blue sherbet, but there were also plain waffle, chocolate waffle and smarties waffle). The portions were incredibly generous - a little too much to be honest, enough for it to become quite sickly before too long and my boys didn't finish theirs. They were quite pricey (I think about £5.90 for a 'posh' cone), but you certainly get your money's worth in terms of volume.

The flavour was the thing that let it down unfortunately. The ice cream itself just had a slightly generic, sickly sweet flavour that didn't reflect the visual quality. I went for a 'malteaser crunch' which was just a caramel ice cream with whole malteasers in it. It was nice, don't get me wrong, but I was expecting the malteasers to be the star flavour, where it definitely played second fiddle. The boys went with various forms of cookie & cream flavour. Obviously, I may have just been unlucky with our particular choice of flavours. There were plenty of others to try.

It's definitely worth checking, it's certainly an experience! If the flavour can catch up to the presentation, then this shop is on...

I didn’t enjoy the ice cream flavours I picked, but that could be down to personal preference. The portions are generous however I was disappointed that they wouldn’t allow me to test out any flavours leaving me with 2 massive scoops of expensive ice cream I didn’t like the taste of. Of all the ice cream shops I have visited, I’ve never been anywhere where they wouldn’t let me try a flavour before deciding what to buy. The ice cream was far too sweet and had strange bits in it. I would rather have a quiche honestly. I digress, of the three teens behind the counter only one seemed to be interested in serving customers with anything but deadpan, uninterested responses. I understand it must be boring serving customers all day but it was quite disheartening. I left the shop feeling quite dejected and was thereby compelled to throw my ice cream into the lakes, which contributed to climate change I expect. Just kidding, I really couldn’t eat the ice...

Food: Ice cream extremely runny and not creamy at all, more like icemilk Portion size is large however the price is not justified for mostly frozen milk

Service: Bizzarre Awkward service. Double cone was served slanted, so much so that a large chunk dropped from the cone. I caught this piece in my hand. The staff gave no reaction and stared blankly, eventually asking if I wanted anything else. By this point I had placed the ice cream chunk back on top and was staring at them with ice cream covered hands. After I let them continue to stare blankly for a moment I informed them I needed more tissues as this was somehow not clear.

Environment: Satisfactory but uninspired

Edit: Quite clearly explained that I asked for another napkin. Maybe reading lessons should be taken also. I am mainly concerned with the lack any reaction at all from the staff as any regular human would have had, to offer the napkin, or show any...

We recently went to the little icecream shop in Windermere and it definitely lived up to the instagram hype!! The girls in the shop who served us were so lovely and gave us recommendations (they had 2 freezers full of different flavours!). The price was similar to the other icecream shops that we’d tried in the Lake District however the scoop sizes here were HUGE (probably 3 times bigger what we were expecting, defo value for money)! We went for Kendal mint cake, salted caramel, and pistachio. It was such good quality gelato. We will definitely be returning this summer.
