Our visit to the Brookside Inn was pleasant. The Pub itself was clean tidy and very welcoming and the staff were also friendly and helpful. The food was your typical pub food, I had the chicken wings to start with which were lovely but the battered fish for my main wasn't so nice, I'm no expert but to me the batter tasted like the oil needed changing and my mushy peas were cold and a few more chips would have been nice (maybe the chef was having an off day), the kids did say thier food and portion size were ok but not amazing. For me The Brookside Inn isn't a place I would rush back to but If I was passing I might pop back in to try something else off the menu.

Lovely pub with seperate dinning and drinking areas. Also has outside decking area which overlooks a brook, hence the pub name. Staff were attentive, food ordered and came quickly. We ate and then went to the bar side to play darts. Had a nice evening. We were strangers so quite understandably we had a few looks from the regulars but that didn't bother us one bit.

Well I definitely have never been here before. On the road up from Bowness turn right at the clock tower to find a local pub. Had a guest St Austell beer on so Paulicarus went for that. Pint 8 in just over 4 hours..what a lad!

AVOID! I have just been in to the Brookside with my boyfriend and have been left shocked and heartbroken by the service I have just received. I am exempt from wearing face masks due to my chronic migraines and so carry the exemption (from the government website) on my phone as advised by doctor. As soon as we walked in the manager (as appeared to be) asked for my face mask and rightly so. I showed him my exemption to which he said ‘no, anyone can download that onto your phone, it’s no landyard no entry’. He was so incredibly rude to me after explaining my doctor had sent me the image. The locals then joined in. During this entire pandemic, people have accepted this picture and have been accommodating of my needs, until today. I have been made our to be a liar and humiliated in front of an entire pub. I was then told I was rude when I stuck up for myself and explained the image was from my doctor and that I am not a liar.

Please can I also make it known that people can pay for the sunflower landyards and can be as much a fraud as you think I am.

Please everyone avoid this place, especially tourists, there are much more accommodating and lovely...

I think it was because it was a Monday evening (my mother's birthday) when we visited that we didn't get the best experience to be fair. But I'd checked it on Google before leaving as it was the local to our hotel & we got ready to have some pub grub & a few drinks.

On arrival at 7.30pm though we were told that the kitchen had shut as it was quiet. It said on Google food served til 10pm, and on the door food served til 9pm. So we were left not sure what to do as we hadn't got ready planning to go into Windermere, just wanted the local pub really. Ended up we had a couple of drinks there then went back to hotel & ordered take out. The girl at the bar was lovely, obvs it wasn't her fault the kitchen had closed early, but it was disappointing. The pub itself is probably great at weekend with 3 sections one with dartboard area, then seating around & then separate seating with tables away from the darts & tv etc. I think we probably just got the wrong day but it would be better if they put on Google that food is served subject to demand if there's a chance they'll...

The landlord is a rude Al Murray wannnabe! We turned up at 6:30 and asked if they were doing food! He loudly said “we’re clearly not doing food as it says “no food” outside! I thought he was joking as he was laughing at us as he said it and I said ah good one! He then proceeded to ridicule us in front of his regulars about the fact he wasn’t serving food and it was in bold outside the pub! We left with one of the regulars and looked at the menu outside and on the outside of the pub and no sign of the no food sign apart from an A5 bit of paper held in the corner by a bit of blue tack! To his credit it said no food on it but he couldn’t be arsed to stick it down!

I went inside and said to him that the paper sign had come off and the regular backed me up! No apologies just “Hard luck mate! Get some food somewhere else!”

The pub has an over bearing landlord avoid! Went in there a day later for the girlfriend to have a wee and I sat in the garden and wouldn’t order a drink as I don’t want to give him any money! Once again an...
